Title: Tune pipe
Description: Tune pipe

kenny2 - July 16, 2007 01:17 AM (GMT)
I was wondering if they have or manufacture a tune pipe that maybe mild.I always
heard that they help the engine put out more rpm.I am not to smart on these but,I
would like to have one on my plane-they look pretty sharp.I know it wouldnt be to good for a trainer but,well,kinda,maybe...what the heck Ill just stay off the gas alittle.Does
anyone have one they want to sell for a os46ax?thanks kenny

Kenny, I have a tuned pipe for a thunder tiger pro 46. I will check to see if it will fit my OS 46fx. Maybe I can give you the pipe and some cash for one of your combat planes. Mike Callen.

Is that pipe tuned to A 440??

plane crazy - July 16, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
I don't know anything about the pipe. It was on a plane when i bought it.

dad,

would the harmonics of the prop wash, motor, and tuned pipe create a augmented 4th or a diminished 5th cord and could it be tuneable to 440 on a sarousaphone??

plane crazy - July 16, 2007 10:56 PM (GMT)
The auto tuners are much easier

4star40 - July 16, 2007 11:08 PM (GMT)
Do you think that iyou could tune a motor to a certain pitch using differnt size/diamater pipe to get different power curves maybe using a oscilloscope?

Slappy - July 16, 2007 11:14 PM (GMT)
No Kenny its not the exact same, Macs clames that they get the same performance out there little black mufflers and tuned pipes so either one would work!

LT and Lee STOP CONFUSING PEOPLE!!!! lol

Why dont we just take a spring rubber out of the right rear, add 2 rounds of wedge, raise the track bar,put 1Lb of air in the right front,Oh and put 3 degrees advance timing in the new (I believe its the RO7 chevy engine thats been
produced here in the last couple of weeks-Didnt do Mark martin any good after the
engine change)but, anyhow lets put alittle forward bite in it,this may help out in turn 4.kenny  :yickes: .Ps,make sure it has a good power steering belt, huh junebug?

4star40 - July 17, 2007 01:39 AM (GMT)
I think you need to throw a flowmaster 40 series on it with 2 inch dual tips on it and call it a day..... :roflmao:

lahughes3 - July 17, 2007 01:42 AM (GMT)
I totaly disagree....... I think a Borla stainless setup with high flow cats and the a set of them there "hooker" headers for alvins sake..... :roflmao:

I have been talking to one of my professors and there has been studies using devices to tune motors to a certian pitch for different power curves, I might use it as a project in one of my classes.

Flying Dutchman - November 13, 2007 05:33 PM (GMT)
Good luck on that project.

Just curious... Isn't your trumpet a flared pipe that's mostly out of tune when you use it?

:roflmao: :hysterical:

4star40 - November 13, 2007 05:44 PM (GMT)
Just on the cold days...

4star40 - November 13, 2007 05:45 PM (GMT)
we are talking about tunED pipes right? I can TUNE the trumpet fairly well.

Flying Dutchman - November 13, 2007 09:34 PM (GMT)
Yes - the proper name is tuned pipe.

That thing you blow is a tune pipe...
