Unfortunately the best way to go is to buy a new radio. It would cost you more to convert your current radio than what a new radio would cost.

Hitec makes a nice little three channel radio.
Stick for roll & pitch (rudder/alieron & elevator) and a slide lever for throttle.
Comes with reciever and a couple of servos all for around a hundred bucks I think.

Hi ZoG* here i don't really wont to fork out for another one thing cuz i don't wonto waste my 2 channal but is there a way that i could connect an extra servo bydoing this:

c= channal R=right L=left w=other servo

c1-on =servo r on
c2-on =servo l on
c1-back =servo r backwards
c2-back =servo l backwards
c1+c2-0n = servo r & servol on + servo w on
c1+c2-back = servo r & servol back + servo w back

Any help please reply so basicly what i wont to so is when i press both channal controns up the extra servo kicks in!!!!!

semi complex but i you got any idears please help

thanks ZoG*

Hey ZoG*,

This is all getting too much past bleeding edge technology for me.

But if you/anyone gets it figured out, sounds like an idea to market. :twocents: :twocents:

<_< I've been thinking,

mabee the use of a relay could do it?

if I use somthing like an extra lead coming off the servos to both connect to the relay and it needing both to do so, triggers off the relay when both pressed making the other servo work but it was the just an idear and i'm no expert ant was unsure if it was possible.

if i could do this do u know how? <_< <_<

Mr. ZoG*,

Sounds like you are on to something.
Might just work somehow.
Please keep us informed of your progress.

I remember one time back in olden days when we just had one channel on radios to fly plane with.
Used it for rudder to stear with.

I had this trained hampster that would ride in plane and responded to hand claps and whissles by working the throttle and elevator while I steared with the rudder by radio.

We were doing real good till at a demonstration during half time at local ball game, and the crowd went to whissleing and clapping. :hyper:

My plane and hampster where never seen again.

Regards,
Mr, Butternuts

What is it you want the 3 channels to do? That would be helpful in finding a solution. (such as 1. elevator, 2.aileron 3.throttle or 1. elevator, 2. aileron, 3. bomb drop)

kinda figured you were doing the battle bot thing! That makes things a little easier, as trying to control and aircraft in the way your were describing was very risky at best. You need to give me a little more info on how you would like the controls to function, and what kind of radio you are using. ( 2 stick or pistol grip )

Not to worry, ZoG*

I sent our forum police on vacation for few days. ;)

With Andrew on the case, we will figure a way to move your robot around and activate that weapon some way if possible. :penguin:

Got me thinking now and thinking aways gets me in trouble every time.
Hard on the brain muscle.
