I knew the :yickes: TRIPLE BEAST :yickes: was going to be special when I saw the 12 ft. wing. I mean, who transports a wing that's so iong it requires a red rag to keep tail gaters at a distance?...

There were some problems keeping the Rossi running, but finally it was a go...

Robert's handlaunch was powerful yet graceful... He ran with the wing, then slowed down and almost stopped once ("chunkus interuptus"...) when the plane turned down and he had to realign it, but then he kept running and finally threw it...

I was surprised how well it flew, but the legendary Rossi engine was just not up to it. I tried to gain altitude, but it was slooooow going. Everyone wanted me to turn left, as I was going farther and farther south, but I knew that if I turned the :yickes: TRIPLE BEAST :yickes: at that low an altitude it would just spin into the ground.
So I kept trying to climb, but finally the nose weight (about 6 inches of lead strapped on with rubber bands) flew off. The plane, now grossly tail-heavy, flipped backwards on itself and went down. It crashed...
Not much damage. The wing was fine. The propeller broke. And the engine mount came loose.
With minor modifications it should fly even better tomorrow...
Yes Sir! The :yickes: TRIPLE BEAST :yickes: actually flew!
