Title: WORK DAY SAT. 10:00 am
Description: moving dirt
Robert S. - May 25, 2007 01:36 AM (GMT)
:P I have two units that can move dirt from the pile to the runway. But I only have one shovel. You will need about six ( 6) shovels with operators to keep full and moving to the runway. We need to move a lot of dirt to the runway esp. if it is FREE.

I have a rake, two shovel, hoe, and wheelbarrow all aired up and ready.

Alvin,
Now you're cookin' with natural gas!!!!
Flying Dutchman - May 25, 2007 04:20 PM (GMT)
Thanks for offering your equipment, Robert. We'll take you up on it!
Actually, there's not an awful lot of dirt to move to the runway. There's just a small strip along the edge that needs filling and a bad spot here and there.
Most of the work needed will be at the south overrun, where there are some rough sections that need to be leveled and possible raised with top soil. We'll get the soil from the "mountain".
Thanks!

 It Takes a lot of shoveling to fill a small trench. I saw a bunch of them. Plus the south end. You might be moving more than you think. I personally would move as much as possible . It FREE.

We'll move what's needed, Robert.
I'm less worried about that edge than I am the South overrun, where there's some dirt that needs leveling and smoothing; there's an area that needs raising; and a limestone rock area that needs to be leveled. Then all that should be covered over with top soil.
(...I would show you, but now I'm having a problem with posting my pictures, as Imageshack or the Forum is not cooperating...) <_<

A land scape timber with two ropes makes a redneck leveler. :roflmao: I have a tractor with a dirt rake. It would work perfect, but its a real hassel to load on a trailer (its possible but it takes two people )

The south end of the runway that I was talking about...
Flying Dutchman - May 25, 2007 06:02 PM (GMT)
This dirt needs leveling and some needs raising...
Flying Dutchman - May 25, 2007 06:03 PM (GMT)
Some of this crushed rock needs leveling and probably needs to be covered with top soil so we can grow grass on it...

Placing the pictures is easy if everything cooperates... ;)
Good thing there are two ways to do it. The one I prefer just wasn't available a while ago...
About who all will show up? Well, I contacted all ACMA members who have email and sent them Tony's invitation to the work party... Some may actually read it.
That's 63 members. We'll be lucky to get 10% of that number... <_<
I'm hoping that I'm wrong! :D
