Title: Local RCers Go Country
Description: in Chickasaw, AL.

I am not too sure just what is going on for real, but tonight about 8:00 PM, I got a telephone call.
Against my better judgement, I answered the phone and heard what at first sounded like several cats with their tails caught under a rocking chair.
Also heard background noise of several hundred crazed voices shouting, hollering, and clapping.
The best that I could understand, Tony I think was calling me on his mobile phone from the "Mobile County Country Music Association" weekly concert in beautiful downtown Chickasaw.
Also David Lanzo and son Michael were in attendance and others we know probably.
They claimed that Frits was there, but could not talk to me because he was up on the stage singing country or bluegrass or something.
They said that they dared him to sing and he jumped at the chance. Tony's dad Melvin plays the Steel Gitar in the band and sings some too I think.
Now, can yawl picture Frits singing country?
We need some independent varification to check in here with report.
I mean I have auditioned in front of Melvin with my excellent rendition of "Delta Dawn" more than once and he never made any mention of guest singers out there.

Actually, Don, it would sound a whole lot better than Alvin singing it.
Tony's dad is pretty good on that thing, and yes, he sings well, too.
My performance was absolutely great, I thought. The hall was filled to capacity. Women were yelling and hollering and reaching out to me...
Just so you'll know, Mr. Jealous, my singing credentials include a rendition of "Did I shave my legs for this?" by country singer Deana Carter. I looked stunning...
Then I found out they were trying to get me off the stage to make way for some really old guy. He sang with a wavering voice, but it could be that he was overcome by the solemn and stirring hymn he was singing... :o
I had a good time at my first Mobile Country Music Association (which is what I think it's more properly called...) Just a bunch of mature folks playing instuments, jamming and a-sanging...
What did YOU do last night? Sit around in your drawers at the computer assembling a new cartoon for Avistar 2? <_<
Did you shine your Sonic? Or were you waiting for my next Pits Report? (Which will be brief, by the way...)

Yep, the good times must have still been rolling for Tony Sunday afternoon.
I called him from the field to see what he was doing.
Tony was telling me all about his now under construction new Groovy 50 pattern airplane.
He said that he had just glued the horizontal stab on and it was sticking out a quarter of inch more on one side of fuse that other side.
I gave him some hints about proper stab to wing alignment and he said "Bye, talk to you later".
About an hour later he called me.
Said that he had got the stab wrestled out of fuse before glue had set too hard.
Cleaned off the glue and will try it again later when the good times had worn off some more.
