Alvin's Mini ACMA Field Report.Saturday, March 24, 2007, Beautiful weather today with temp around eighty and light breeze. Moderate turnout, but good flying with no crashes.
We scrounged up some hotdogs, fried dill pickles, and ice cream to do for today and tomorrow might be a feast when our French Cook Tony (Coach Pierre) Farmer shows up. We had some excitement when Alvin was flying his Sonic and Justin was flying David Lanzo's Twist plane. They just could not help but get into some play combat and touch & go contest, David was sweating bullets because he has lost two planes in recent combat and the fleet is getting a little low.
It was so nice out that some of us hung out at field till after dark and we talked David into flying his electric powered Tiger Moth with the running lights on it. All worked well even when the flash on Frits' camera almost blinded David.
Frits and Robert were looking at some new project with talk of replacing the woosie electric motor with a Webra .50 I think that I heard.

Mike had to reglue the tail surface on his plane.

Jon Koppish was flying a new "Force One" that he picked up at the recent Perry, GA swap meet for a steal of a deal.

Finally caught Russel in the act, he is a stealthy eater.

Robert Sanderson was flying his very red Fokker Triplane with Roger Hagler helping.

Johnny had a new fiberglass canopy on his chopper and was scared that it might jinx him, but after several flights the canopy was still intact.

Andrew slipped away for a visit to field and is kabitzing with Combat Director/Ground Instructor Inspector Don Koval.

James Sansing had his nice T-34 Mentor out to knock the rust off today.

We had a very nice day and look forward to an even better day Sunday.
