Alvin's Mini ACMA Field Report.Sunday, March 11, 2007, Irvington Field, Another wonderfull day for flying like yesterday and another good crowd to prove it.
As I arrived at the field an hour late because I had forgot to set my clocks, Tony was already on the grill doing some of his great grilled chicken over Oak wood and we had hot dogs on other grill and a box of PopEyes chicken to eat on while the other cooked. We had some ice cream from yesterday and Margo went to store for more. We did all right. I had brought some Chocalate Covered Truffles and Peking Duck from Gormet Food Shop, but with all the food already present, I forgot to get it out of my truck.

Frank Madison had his electric powered twin engine airplane out today.

Jon Koppisch showed off his 40% scale Yak and did some great flight demos.

Andy Anderson brought out a big box containing his new project. It is a real turbine engine powered "Boomerang" model. Ought to be fast and great flyer.

Something I could hardly believe, Frits had one of his very own airplanes with him today. Something seldom seen as he is usually busy with student instruction and trainer planes.

Mike brought a couple of smaller airplanes today and setup in the South Pit. I am going to get his Pit System figured out one day. Mike is a proud product of Auburn education and it will be a logical system I am sure.

Well, the reciever change out in Tony's Mentor worked as hoped. Tony put several flights on it today and narry a glitch. She was solid as could be and the flights were flawless even with a bonus of the retracts working every time. I knew that the extra week Tony spent on just retract installation would pay off big time. Now if he could just get his pipes thawed out. (will have to ask him about that or his wife Rene)

And last but not least, lots of folks think that David Lanzo stays slim by not eating very often, but I managed to catch him snacking it down some. I noticed some excellent Eye To Hand Cordination, as his hand moved toward his mouth, his mouth opened every time.

As always the full enhanced report with many more pictures will be featured in Frits' "From The Pits" report.
