Title: B-17 Attack on Dauphin Island
Description: Billy Fly's in B-17 over D.I.

Yesterday I got a wonderful chance to fly in a full-scale B-17. It was very, very cool! Flying in one of these gives you a sobering appreciation for all the flight crews that flew and died in WWII. (moment of silence). OK, now for the fun part. I arrived at Brookley and had a short pre-flight with the B-17 crew. We then manually turned the props (which is hard) and boarded the aircraft for take - off. I discussed with the pilot my disgruntlement at the way Dauphin Island politics were being handled, so, we decided to show a force that may bring peace to the table.

Very Good, Mr. Billy.
Did yawl drop a stick of water balloons and flour bombs on the island?
B-17, one of my fav WW II airplanes.

Yesterday, while in Wallgreens parking lot, I heard a little different type airplane noise overhead, looked up and saw some kind of twin engine twin tail bomber :bigplane: looking airplane. Was one of those in the group?

For a little over $300 you could have been a passenger too... :D

Club member Robert Sanderson also took a ride in one of the three bombers.
