It is time to remind you of the 16th Mississippi Afterburner especially since we have the new dates of April 19-21. This is earlier than the usual May dates to relieve some scheduling conflicts with other events. Thanks to the Austin gang for letting us use their dates. This year our Sat. dinner will be the same plus our cook is adding a pig roast to the menu along with the catfish, homemade cobblers and ice cream. Don't forget the David Reid mudbugs. Also, if you old timers like me remember one of our R/C Jet pioneers Rick Schafer from Austin, well his son Rick Jr. has been flying F-16s for our USAF overseas for a while. Now he is an instructer at Columbus AFB in Mississippi. He wants to do a flyby/demonstration flight in a T-38 for noon Fri. and Sat. possibly along with another T-38. He will be spending the day with us at the field also. He can't land the 38 at this airport since he needs 8000' but he will land at Jackson International and ride over to enjoy the fly-in and spend the night Fri. nite. This will be noisy and much fun. Go ahead and get your reservations done. Go to www.mississippijets.com for more info.

Hey Jon, would it be worth the drive to come up on Saturday as a spectator, or not? I can't afford to take vacation on Thursday or Friday, but I'd love to see some of these jets fly.
If the weather's good you'll get to see a lot of nice jets!!!
