Title: Alvins combat wang!
Description: Alvins combat wang

Johnny_J - February 21, 2007 04:17 AM (GMT)
Hey combaties! :D
I decided to post this so someone might remember to bring a set of Alvins WANG
(can't rember the name) plans to the air field so I can get into the combat battles.
He says that he's going to fill me in on some secrets to make it more better with some simple modifications. ;)

Thanks,

P.S How do you loose you're own designs plans? :banghead:

I named it "Combat Avenger".

A most excellent .30 - .40 size wing.

Back then I had the plans for sale at HTUSA and I gave Pete the master plan so they could get more plans printed as needed.

Alvin,

I have a copy of your wing plans. I bought a copy from you several years back. Would you like a copy, or have you already gotten yours back?

Jeez, more of those plans floating around than I thought, Mike.

Thanks, but no thanks on the plans offer.
I am working on a whole new design that will blow everything else away in combat.
Has special outriggers on wing tips to really sweep a broad area in the air to catch streamers and feed them into a cutter.

Some of the fellows at field hear about my old design and talk about maybe building one. But none ever do. :(

I'll build one but it maybe slightly modified! ;)
I need the plans first! :crying:

I am trying to find some pictures of the wing, but this is best I found so far.
Taken at GCRC's Scott Field down on Deakle Road in early eightys.

Hey Alvin can you put these images in instead of links?
I can't seem to figure it out yet.

I got two of them working. Yep you need to work on the putting pictures in post thing a little more. You will get hang of it though, confidence is high.

Thanks ALVIN!

Way to go Johnny, you really can put pictures in your posts now.
I had no idea that someone besides me had actually saved those old GCRC newsletters that I used to do.
Yep that is the Combat Avenger at our old GCRC flying field down off Hwy 188 I think, where the new big High School is now.

I dug out some old "The Flight Bag" issues and look what I found.
Pictures from 1994 and 1995.

Including me, evidently.

If anyone wants a copy, let me know.

Funny seeing all those old pics. I have some, although not very old, of Andy's Stearman 'nekid', Frits and three of his weirdo planes with no tail he was so fond of, and a few more. Frits, I'll try to bring them up to the field one weekend......

Thanks for the memories Alvin!
Those were the days.
Amy and Mat say HEY! :D :bigplane:
For some reason or another those were the few of the ones I can't find. :hmm:
