I think I just duplicated the posting on RCU, but I also added a posting on RCGroups. It was free, so it can't hurt, right?

I heard brief mention this past weekend that day 2 (Sunday) of the Warbird event would be pretty much open to anything scale. Anyone know if that's the case? I'd like to at least be able to fly something this weekend, but don't have anything military. The crowds usually thin out pretty good on the second day of these 2 day events anyhow.
TONY F - April 26, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
Hey ,Mr. Mike the Event Flier says on Sunday other Aircraft will be allowed to fly. I would bring what ever you would like to fly.
Mike - April 26, 2007 01:25 AM (GMT)
So it does. Guess I should have read that! Thanks Tony!
Flying Dutchman - April 26, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)

I'll have my Combat Gremlin. Perhaps an impromptu Combat will take place?

If anyone is going to be out and about around the field tomorrow at say 12:00pm a guy called me and he's coming down in his motor home and would like to stay at the field Friday night. I need someone to unlock the gate for him please!!!
Thanks,
Andy
TONY F - April 27, 2007 03:35 PM (GMT)
Andy, I will try and leave work and meet him.

Tony was all tied up at work and he asked me to go let them in.
I opened gate at 12:35 PM.
Showed them around and left them in charge.
Two fellows from Louisiana in fairly big motorhome.

After coming back from my granddaughter's field trip to the New Orleans Zoo, I made it to the field around 7:00.
Jeff was cutting grass. Alvin was cleaning up stuff in the kitchen and making an inventory.
I met the visitors. They had a small fleet of warbirds set up in the pavilion. I gave them my gate lock key so they could lock up if they decided to go anywhere and before going to bed.
I painted my two notorious yellow NO TAXIING ACROSS THIS LINE stripes on the grass before dark.
Robert and I flew Robert's night fllying trainer plane in the dark... Piece of cake... :yickes:
Tucked the Louisinana guys in and went home...

I had every intention of being there at 0830 in the morning to help out with getting things set up, but I had some misfortune come my way this evening. I had arrived home from work about 2030 and parked my truck in the street in front of the house like I always do, and not 15 minutes later someone hit it head-on! :fuming: A couple of teenage girls in a Mazda four-door dropped a CD and were digging for it. She crossed the centerline and hit my
parked truck, moving it backward a full trucks length. Her Daddy showed up along with the Police, he told me this was her
fourth accident and the
second that was her fault (she'll be eighteen next month,
if she lives that long!). Her passenger girlfriend was intoxicated and got a busted nose, but the driver was sober and unharmed. So now I have to get a rental car in the morning before I can do anything.
Mike - April 28, 2007 03:58 AM (GMT)
Gah, that sucks man!!
Were they cute?
alvinonline - April 28, 2007 05:41 AM (GMT)
Don't know if they are cute, but are wild, willing, and jail bait.
I got "rear ended" by a Candy Store stripper gal one time.
She said that was her first time.
TJR - April 28, 2007 12:07 PM (GMT)
I was too mad to even care if they were cute. Besides, like Alvin said, they were jail bait. I'm sure this morning that the passenger isn't looking to cute, and if I were the drivers dad, she wouldn't be able to sit down for a month of Sundays 'cause her @$$ would be raw!
Johnny_J - April 29, 2007 01:44 AM (GMT)
Sorry for the misfortune with the jailbaiters.
I'm glad I made it to the field today.
I really like the PT-17 Great Plane ARF. looks like the first kit I'll buy when I get a shop built to hold it. :hmm:
Look like a great turn out. Glad to see it! :spin:  :penguin:
See yall when I get back in the next time.
Take some good photos fur me too see when I get back.
Amy says hey to all!
alvinonline - April 29, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
Saturday afternoon late, one of the Warbird fellows broke out his helicopter warbird aircraft.
It is a military version of MD 500 with TT Raptor 60 mechanics.
It was very smooth and did some realistic scale flying.
Don wanted me to mention that Sunday, 2:00 PM, there will be a special RC Combat match for $25.00 HTUSA gift certificate. Special feature will be Mike flying his new Alvin's design "Combat Avenger" combat wing.

Johnny_J - April 29, 2007 05:55 PM (GMT)
Thanks Alvin! Sorry I missed it.
Had a minuite to check the posts before I head out.
Maybe the next time you see me I'll have a decent heli to fly.
Looking for the AVANT Aurura to hit the shelves along with a parts availability also.
See yall when I get back! :pilot: :parachute:

Don Koval - April 30, 2007 05:21 AM (GMT)
AL needs to clean the cub up a bit ;)
jonkoppisch - April 30, 2007 10:59 AM (GMT)
I didn't get the 'after' picture ;)
lrogers - April 30, 2007 12:18 PM (GMT)
The fly in was awesome! You guys did a great job. Seeing all those warbirds was ALMOST enough enough to make me want to fly a "Plank"! ;) Wish I'd stayed long enough to see the MD500 fly, but I had a date with a hammer and a shed building project!
Guys, the skill you showed building and flying was awesome.
TJR - April 30, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
Here is the "After" photo of Al's Cub...
jonkoppisch - April 30, 2007 01:55 PM (GMT)
There we go... There were about 40 cameras around the place (almost more camera's than planes). I new someone would get a pic!!!!!
