Title: Gasser Idle Problems???

Slappy - September 22, 2006 02:09 AM (GMT)
Well I took my Predator out in the yard the other day to try and burn the rest of the gallon of fuel I have, so I can get the motor broken in...Anyway I had a hades of a time starting the thing the first time, it took about 15-16 pulls and it finally fired up :banghead: , but I had to put my throttle trim to the max, and this put the rotors at a fairly high idle RPM! it was actually hard to stop them from turning once they had spun up, so I killed the engine and went back inside and went to work...

Well when I got home from work I took a look at the clutch, and it was rubbing on the bell kinda hard! I spun the rotors and it made a "whinning sound" from the clutch bell! I loosend the start shaft and clutch bearing blocks and wiggled it around until it was free agian and then checked the gear mesh, it was all ok. :hmm:

Could this had been the problem? it took a good 5-6 pulls to start it up at the field Sunday, and I see Scott and Tal's starting up in 1 to 2 pulls COLD!

Let me know what yall think,
Jake

If there's a lot of resistance against the clutch it will definately be harder to start etc....
