Title: grievious Error
Description: In Pits report
Mr.Incredible - June 2, 2006 04:09 PM (GMT)
As one of the Pits reports greatest fans, I never mention when I notice small inacuracy's are reported (and they are indeed very few and very far between) But I can not let the horrible mis-giving of credit go un-corrected.
The last paragraph of the latest report tells a story of two highly talented stick movers Don K. and David L. flying their biplanes in close formation. While the story starts out acurate and the first of the three pictures is actually the two credited pilot's planes, the second two pictures showing them get closer and even closer was in fact still Don K's bipe but the second pilot showing the nerve to taunt disaster for the sake of crowd entertainment was me and not David L.
but it makes no difference, the report was as it is every week, an enjoyable treat to fill in the gap between fun filled week ends of flyin'
Thanks Frits and Alvin for keepin 'em comin. but tighten up a little! LOL

You only flew that close because you know Don's plane would just bounce off yours even if you did hit. Let's see you try that with a plane your own's size. B)

Is that so, well to prove otherwise, the next time I see a plane much larger than mine, like say maybe a Decathalon with a starburst fruit chew paint scheme, I may just try to see if I can use its 80 some odd inch wing span as a small runway.
I can see the legend now, :cloud9: passing down from generation to generation of R/C pilots. The seemingly tall but the Old guys always swearing they saw it with their own eyes, a spectactular 3 point touch and go using the entire lenght of the runway (or wing in this case) then pulling up and snapping off three or four barrel rolls without putting a scratch on either airplane.
I think it would be well worth the risk of a small $150 ARF for the potential of instant R/C immortalilty, and if it did destroy both planes then we could both just laugh and agree that it's not like they were Helicopters or anything, just a couple of old airplanes that don't do much more than fly around in circles anyway.
Speaking of Helicopters, have you been making it out to the field any during the week to get a few flights in?
Scott Godbee - June 3, 2006 02:57 AM (GMT)
I'll answer that one for you Mike,
No Steve,
It seems as if our Helicopter prodigy is nothing more than a flash in the pan. A mere 1 hit wonder who isn't taking his talent for multi-directional flight seriously.
He actually came out to the field Sunday, and brought nothing but planks.
His stock with me fell drastically.
I have a 60 size Carl Goldberg Ultimate Bi-plane collecting dust in my shop, because I dare NOT commit such blastphemy as to bring a fixed wing aircraft to the field whilst the flagships of my fleet sit at home.
I think SOMETHING needs to be done about this. Stricken from the B.O.S.S. membership list, and his card revoked, or better yet, banished from Irvington field all together.
Let hom go fly at the Battleship field with all the other Rotor wing haters and let him love it.
Pox on you and your airplanes Mike!!
Why don't you just give your helicopter away to someone who will appreciate it!!
BIGOT!!!
Scott

hey i have to stick up for mike, he is just keeping his skills sharp all around
Mike - June 3, 2006 04:33 AM (GMT)
It's true. I was working on the Decathlon tonight and I just can't wait to set up on the north end, bad-mouth helicopters, and talk about how much better things are at other fields while I continue to fly at Irvington.
No Steve, I haven't been out during the week. And no Scott, I haven't given up a thing. The reason for the absence of the chopper on Sunday was due to a loose muffler that a certain someone (me) was too lazy to correct. And because I knew I would only be out for a couple of hours anyway due to a hot date I had that night.
Don Koval - June 3, 2006 04:38 AM (GMT)
OK!!OK!!!
You chopper guys better play nice, or we will make you go back to the north end :P
Mr.Incredible - June 4, 2006 01:55 AM (GMT)
Hey Scott, It may actually be worse than you think, I heard Mike say today that Tomorrow He is going to bring His Funtana 90 and that he is hoping to get enough done on the Decathalon tonight to be able to bring it and just let it sit for show because it wouldn't be ready to fly.
These comments did not seem to inusual at first but then he spoke the true words of Pilot who is a plankster at heart, I know this will hurt to hear but it is true, I quote "And I may throw the Raptor in if there is enough room left"
Throw in the Raptor !!! as if it was an after thought I may clearly indicating that even if there was a small space available in the spare tire holder or something he still may choose to leave the poor Raptor sitting home all alone feeling lonely and neglected.
For god sake man, must the rest of us sit by and watch this once great chopper be so horribly mis treated like this? Surely there must be some sort of goverment agency we can report him to. I mean bringing an Airplane that can't even be flown and leaving a perfectly good heicopter collecting the Dust, it makes me want to cry.
Don, it's to much fun and besides you can't send ME BACk to the north side because I was never there.
Mr.Incredible - June 4, 2006 02:04 AM (GMT)
I just realized the irony in all of this, a Topic Hi-jack has taken place and what has now turned into me Bashing airplanes in lue of the far superior rotory powered machines started out as me trying to correct the horrible injustice of not getting the credit I deserved for my Skillfull Airplane flying.
I guess Frits was just trying to protect my good name and not reveal that i did indeed bring myself down to the level of a mear Oval Plank flyer. So I guess I actually owe Frits an opology and a Thank you. :bigplane:  :helicopter:
Mike - June 4, 2006 03:08 AM (GMT)
Steve, have you been drinking?
Just so you know, I fixed the little loose muffler issue and the Raptor is on the charger and ready to fly. I just may bring it out after all...you know, if there's room of course. :D

Thats right Steve, I forgot that you have squaters rights
Mike - June 5, 2006 04:49 AM (GMT)
I hope by my flying today that I showed you guys I haven't abandoned the Raptor. ;)
If all goes well, there might even be room for it next week also.
