I wouldn't be too concerned yet. There are many many more ethnic Kinh who are successful in business, both in Vietnam and overseas. As far as I know, an overwhelming majority of successful large businesses in Vietnam were established by Vietnamese entrepreneurs.

Phải nói công trạng lớn nhất của chế độ VNCH là dành lại nền kinh tế VN từ tay bọn thực dân Pháp và bọn Tàu

That's silly. Everyone knows that the biggest companies in Vietnam are state-owned.

Well I read Ngo Dinh Diem didn't really like the tau in cho lon very much

DUH. But we're not talking about state-owned enterprises here. To measure relative economic power and entrepreneurialship of ethnic Kinh vs ethnic Hoa, you have to look at the private sector.
As far as I'm aware, the majority of ethnic Vietnamese are still confined to small restaurants and shops in the Cho Lon area (district 5 and surroundings) with the exception of major companies like Biti's footwear, Minh Long pottery, Kinh Do bakery etc
Cho Lon itself is extensively settled by ethnic Kinh due to the Hoa exodus in late 1970s and no longer an exclusively Hoa area.

i just skimmed through the article, but where does it say that nguoi Tau are controlling our economy?
the article just talks about two successful Chinese-Vietnamese entrepeneours. that doesn't conclude the Tau people are controlling our economy.
the US newspapers sometimes post a successful Viet businessman in America, that doesn't mean the Viets are controlling America's economy.
yah?
