I just bought the DVD, and it is so great! I didn't see it at the cinema, so this was the first time that I had seen it. I thought it was so well written, I mean, I would have never thought as Mort as crazy or whatever. I know this whole topic is about Secret Window, but who else love this? Johnny Depp really did look like a hobo nearly all the way through the film. Loved his hair though. He also looked very cute when he was confused.

well, i read the book first, and i really like how they've changed the ending in the film

How did the book end then? I only just found out that there was a book first, I'm going to have to read it some time.

well, in the book, Mort died.... and another difference was, that Mort didn't have a dog, but a cat in the book

Oh, was that shown in the deleted scenes? Because their was one on the special features bit where he set the place on fire with him still in it, but it was never put in the film. Or was that something else? And thanks for changing the title of this, I don't want to spoil it for people!

no no no...that was just a scene they wanted to put at the end, so it would be clearer how Mort burned the house down....
they completely changed the ending....(I think David Koepp talks about it on the dvd commentary(sp?) )

he does. :)

i bought the DVD the very first day it came out. i was sooo excited! i really dunno why, but i'm helplessly obsessed with mort.

i also read the book first - stephen king is my favorite writer, and i got so excited when i heard they were gonna make a movie out of a SK-book with Johnny, i immediately bought the book with johnny on the cover and read it :) i thought it was really cool. and i'm glad they changed the ending - it's not really perfect (i wouldn't have done that thing at the end with mort biting into the ear of corn), but it's good. it works better for the movie this way.

i've watched the DVD like... 5 times now or somethin :) johnny looks kinda rumpled, but he's SO handsome! he looks so cute with his bed-hair.... lol :D and his eyes.... *sigh* sometimes i watch some scenes in slow-motion cuz he's so beautiful. i know, i'm weird

well, to be honest, i think the original ending was better, cuz whn I saw the movie I thought like: "is there gonna be a 2nd part ore sumthin?' cuz, they leave you with a lot of questions like: will Mort finally end up in Jail? will this all afect his writer skills and how much he sells?..........so basically; what'll happen to Mort?
