Alright everyone, this is a very easy tutorial to follow, but one that gives off an amazing effect. So without further adieu, let's begin, shall we?

-----------------------

1. In photoshop, open up your file in which you want the text to be animated. It can be any file you want, just be sure to have some space around it. I'm going to use a file which I made for a sig for the sake of simplicity and this tutorial.

2. Type your text, and make sure that it's the topmost layer in your graphic. You can go ahead and put in all the effects you want, which are up to you, that way it fits your graphic, I'm just going to use plain white, again, for the sake of simplicity. smile.gif Try to put the text with some space around the sides, just to give kind of a better effect but it isn't necessary.

3. Duplicate your text layer 4 times...yep, that's right, 4 times! This is what I have so far.

4. Now switch over to imageready. This is where the fun stuff begins.

5. Be sure you have your animation window open, at the bottom of the screen. It looks like this:

If you can't see it, go to window, and animation, and it should come up. Anyways, continuing on.

6. On your animation bar, you'll see a few buttons similar to that on the layers palette, one being the new layer button. BE SURE THAT U MAKE A NEW LAYER ON THE ANIMATION WINDOW!! Don't make it on the layers palette.

7. Now, click on the move tool, the black arrow on the top of the tools palette at the right.

8. Click on the topmost layer, it should be the fourth copy of your text layer. Hold shift, and drag it over to the right some. It'll look like this:

9. Now of that same layer, lower the opacity down to 0, so you can't see it anymore.

10. Now click on the third layer, the layer underneath the fourth copy. With your move tool, drag the third copy over to the left, about the same distance, and lower the opacity to 0.

11. Click on the second layer, and drag the text straight upwards just a little bit, and lower the opacity to 0. Finally, click on the first copy you made, and drag that layer down a little bit, and lower the opacity to 0. You should only be able to view your first text layer now on the background.

12. Now, while holding shift, click on the first layer in your animation window, that way both layers in the animation window are selected. We're going to tween it now, there is a button that looks like some dots in a line, click that. It should look like this.

13. A window should pop up for you, use these settings:

14. Click ok, in the animation palette, it should give you now 7 frames. To make sure the effect worked, click on the first frame, and click the play button. If it plays it out right, it should look similar to this:

15. It's going pretty fast because we only added 5 frames, to slow it down, next time, just add more frames, and it'll give you a much slower and neater ghost effect. Now, just save optimized and VOILA!
