Hi there, i have a 3 1/2 old male iguana...not sure what kind he is..his head is completely grey/silver the rest is green/rusty red. He was a rescue. But in reality he rescued me.
I had heard all kinds of horror stories of male iguanas and didn't want one, but when i realized he was male...i had already fallen in love. He's strict veggitarian, his favorite is cantelope. He is a mama's boy. Doesn't really like anyone else, but clings to me. He doesn't like men of any age too much either especially when they get close to me. He is the posturing king :rolleyes: but i know it's all for show as although he has a bit of a temper, he's all show. He loves to cuddle and be pampered, when all the attention is on him he loves it. i also have a 1 year old siamese cat that zeus thinks is his buddy. I have pics of the two of them cuddle up and sleeping together.
i think the oddest thing about zeus is that he starts shedding 2 weeks b4 i start my cycle. I guess you could say his pms starts same time mine does :lol:
BUT if for any reason, stress, etc that i'm late, he'll completely shut down his shedding, i mean just stop, and he won't continue back shedding until i've started. my vet said it's somewhat common, does anyone else have any kind of experience with this?

Hi there! Welcome to the forum. I have heard of that happening with iguanas - some women even notice that their males get territorial over them during the breeding season when they ovulate.

I guess it's just more of those animals instincts. :) It sounds like a green iguana. Can't wait to see pics of your ig and cat!
