Hi all. I'm about to get an iguana so I want some insider's tips on what they like. lol. What foods do your iguanas really prefer? I've read all these care sheets and I know that I shouldn't give many treats that are bad for them, but what are your iguana's favorite foods that are actually good for them?

A few that come to mind are:

Bananas (in moderation)
Figs
Callard Greens
Grean Beans
Carrots

They tend to NOT like citrus fruits (oranges, lemon, kiwis). My Iguanas also don't really like parsnips, although they are good for them.

Another thing I have found is that some iguanas have a preference for a certain color. Anna likes everything yellow (parsnips being the exception). When you get you rnew ig, he'll probably be your best guide to showing you what he likes.

Oh yes! I just got my little fella today and I can already tell he likes certain colors. He was eating the apple and banana today even though he was very scared from being in a new place. He ate a good bit of his greens too.
