Hi everyone. My name is Will. I don't have an iguana yet but I would like to get one. I want to find out everything first. THis won't be my first reptile, but it will be my first lizard. I know how big they get and what I am getting into, so don't worry about all that. :D I'm preparing myself for it. I've read a little on this forum and it looks really nice. can't wait to meet all of you.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
What type of iguana are you thinking about getting?Rock,spiny-tail or green?
I'm rather fond of Rock igs(cyclura) myself though I have raised and bred greens in the past. They are all great looking animals,I wish you luck in finding a nice one which ever you choose!
Happy Holidays!

Hi greenguy! When you get your little ig, be sure to post some pics of it. Green iguanas are a handful but they are fun to have, and never bore you. Have fun looking for one! :D

Thanks for the welcome. :) I was thinking more about greens but spinies are nice too! It's just that I have done all my research on green iguanas so I better stick with that. I can't wait. I am getting the little guy tomorrow. I set up the 80 gal. tonight.

Congratulations on getting an Ig!
Good to hear that you did all your research before hand... sounds like he/she's going to have a great home. Here's a little tip for ya:
Turn on all the lights/heat sources as soon as you can, and leave them on like you would with him in there. Before you go to get the little guy check the temps (warm, cold, basking) and make any adjustments before you put him in there. That way you don't have to make any further adjustments that might stress him out when he's trying to settle in.

Good Luck! and let us know when the little guy arrives!

Thanks for the tip! I did that this morning a long time before I left. It all seemed very normal. Now I wish I would have done that a few days before. I got the little guy today. He's really flighty but I'm working with him. He's so green! lol. He hasn't eaten in front of me yet but I waled in the room a few minutes ago and he was nibbling at his greens. I'll post a pic in the photo album. :D
