This looks like a great site. We have a green iguana that we rescued from another family. The kids had broken off it's tail and didn't want to take care of him/her daily need. Anyway, my 18 yr old daughter, named him/her Lobotomy, and calls him/her Lobo. We don't know what sex it is but we think it is a male.
We've had Lobo for about 2 months, he is a baby, and very attached to my daughter. Of course, she babies Lobo and when she talks to him, Lobo will look at her and twist his head back and forth. He has a great personality. We also have two mountain horned dragons and a butterfly agama. They all have their own cages.
Nice to meet you!
Congratulations and good luck with your little rescue! Poor little guy, how bad was the tail break? Has he been checked out by the vet? We look forward to hearing about Lobo's progress, and feel free to ask any questions you might have along the way!
Good Luck!
Hi Frannie. Welcome to the forum! Sorry about the tail break. I have a rescue, Angelo, that had his tail broken off as well. Some people don't like them after they break their tail but once it heals and everything it doesn't look all that bad. I don't even notive that Angelo's is missing anymore. He's got enough personality to make up for it anyway.:D The good thing is that since he's a baby, it might grow back very well. The baby I had a long time ago broke his tail and it grew back almost to it's previous length, then started turning green! It looked like one of his tail bands had just extended farther down. Lobo's tail will probably grow back nicely.
Mt. horned dragons are really neat little critters. Definately post pics of all your little guys!
