Title: Acting Mean

My iguana has suddnely started to act very mean. He charges at me sometimes when I open the door. He's only about 2.5 feet long and not very old so I don't think it's the breeding season. Any ideas? I'm almost positive it's a male.

Sounds like he is indeed going through his first breeding season. You should be proud! Your little boy is growing up! Next he'll start talking back to you, slamming doors, and running away!

Anyway, he is just old enough to be starting his first season. Just leave him alone more than you normally would and he'll get over himself. You can also give some way to relieve himself, such as a Luv Sock or something (read about it here.)

It seems real bad, but just think of what it's like for those of us with a male AND female iguana.

LOL

Well, just watch out for the nasty teeth on him. He's little now, but when they get bigger teeth are a bigger problem. Having gone through this age with males (both iguana and human) I have two words of advice: headache medicine. For all the headaches you'll have when he stops eating and starts chasing you around the house. :P
