Hey guys/girls i am new to keeping igs and am only learning as i go along but i have run into a problem.I bought my ig jub jub about a week ago in a local pet shop in ireland. one week ago I was compeletely naive as to the needs of iguanas. the woman in the petshop sold me a small tank with a 15 watt bulb it wasnt until I researched the needs of these critters i realised how far off the mark I was. Since then I have built much bigger encloser I have installed a 100 wat basking bulb and 2 uv tubes and a cereramic heat emmiter for night .i am misting him every evening and bathed him last night.But alas he is not eating for me and one of his eyes is closed and appears infected but when i bathed him it seemed fine again but was partially closed again today. To try and sort this i have got a calcium supplement which I put in his water and sprayed over him as directed and am seriously thinking about liquidising some dandelion leaves an iguana pelllets and syringe feeding him. i really dont want to lose him i rang several vets in my area but they told me I had to see a herp vet and the only one in the country is 120 miles away. i am presuming his problems are down to being kept in the petshop with no uv or proper heat and probably an unhealthy diet i am really trying to sort these issues but if he is not eating i am at nothing.Any advice or help would be gratefully recieved
