Halo 2 Skulls Guide
By Choryo
Level: Armoury
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: When the soldier tests your shields at the start and he says everything is ok don’t get into the lift until Johnson (the black dude) says ‘would it help if I said please’. Then get onto the tram were Johnson goes on about the orbital defence platform theory and all that, move forward so you are as close to the window facing Earth as you can possibly be, hold X and keep hold of it because after you pass some boxes you should pick up the first skull
Effect: This skull tells the covenant exactly were you are even if you are cloaked, (not very helpful is it.)
-------------------
Level: Cairo Station
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: After killing all of the covenant in the second pelican bay (which is bloody hard *especially if you picked up the first skull*) the game will say ‘priority shift’ you go to the armoury where the soldier from the first level gets owned by two elites, you kill the elites and go to the next room which is called ‘commons b.01’ (it has all trees and shit (oh yeah watch out for the plasma turret)) The skull is very sneakily hidden above you as you enter the room on the highest ledge that there is. To get it you need to kill all of the covenant in the room and go to the plasma turret. To get to the skull you need to jump to the left onto a ledge. Once there, there are several diagonal beams that lead to two thin rails that go though the entire room. Make a well timed crouching jump to the rails from one of the beams, all you then have to do is follow the rails to the opposite end of the room, and on the left is yet another ledge with a dustbin on it, knock over the dustbin and there is your second skull.
Effect: This skull makes the entire Covenant army into their sort of elite mode, all jackals have orange shields and all the grunts and elites are special operations grunts and elites (not very helpful)
-------------------
Level: Outskirts
Difficulty: Any
Method: As soon as you start this level (which is one of my favourites) head into the door right in front of you as you normally do and kill the poor grunt. Look up and there is a light right above you. Using the crouching jump technique jump onto the light then onto the roof to your left, when you get out turn to you left and you will see a corridor, which is dark and fairly long, go down this corridor and you will find some grenades, the sniper spotters binoculars and the skull, when you pick up this skull the word ‘Blind’ will appear on your screen, don’t worry you don’t go totally blind just no hud and you cant see you weapon or were you are pointing it.
Effect: This skull isn’t very useful as it takes away your hud and weapon (although you can still fire it just not see it), also your flashlight doesn’t work (helpful isn’t it), some people believe this skull is used for taking screen shots or some kind of skull searching mode, however I am a firm believer that bungie just chucked it in to piss off people who picked it up.
-------------------
Level: Outskirts
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: To get this skull you need to keep count of check points, when you have just got your 7th check point make sure Johnson gets in the pelican. After that there are loads of snipers kill them there will be two balconies opposite each other with clothes hanging on them in the right hand one there is a pool of blood, a sniper rifle and some ammo. When you pick it up you get transported to ground level were you have to fight off 6 waves of elites (bloody hard on legendary) they start with a wave of 1 elite and go up with each wave (e.g. 1, 2, 3 etc) when you have beat the 6th wave the skull starts to work and says ‘I would have been you daddy’ (remember that level from Halo Combat Evolved)
Effect: Well I’m not sure it didn’t seem to do anything, my best guess is that its just a little side game that the nice guys at bungie chucked in.
-------------------
Level: Metropolis
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: when you get to the large semi-circle area with the scarab in the background and the bunch of snipers, go to the middle area and grenade jump up the big building to were the two towers connect, go to the left tower and walk around it, there you fins the skull at the end of the walkway.
Effect: Makes your enemies throw loads more grenades but they now drop a lot more when you kill them.
-------------------
Level: Arbiter
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: Go through the level as you normally would until you get to the part with all the banshees. When you get in a banshee fly straight down to the bottom of the section and you will see three massive engine boosters, fly to the middle booster and circle around the upper bit of it, until you see some grunts dancing around in a circle, the grunts are kind of hidden underneath a pole of some kind. When you have found the grunts take the skull, get back into your banshee and continue on with the level.
Effect: The skull makes all enemies that you kill with a head shot explode as though they are a grenade and wound or kill everything around them, its quite amusing seeing a grunt blow up and take out elites.
-------------------
Level: Oracle
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: After you've killed your first group of flood, you will come to a room where there is glass that can be broken separating you from a fight between some Flood and a group of covenant. You have to go down there to continue through the level, as after you kill a certain amount of flood , the covenant open a door so you can keep going. Then, if you stay at the bottom floor of the 'glass room' and stand on the lower part of the pillars that hold the glass on the second floor, and shoot the glass, you can crouch jump up to the opposite side that you first entered the room. Up here, there is the skull, surrounded by four flood.
Effect: This makes all the weapons that you start with only start with half ammo instead of full ammo.
-------------------
Level: Delta Halo
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: Go through the level until you reach an area during the "Push through the Covenant held ruins" where you have to clear a Landing Zone for the Pelican to drop a weapons cache. You'll know you are in the right area when Cortana tells you "they're pouring out of the centre building". That area has Plasma turrets along its edges. A little bit after the left side turret you will see the outline of a door in a wall, but the door has a solid rock in it and a boulder in front of it. Jump on the rock then jump to the ledge above the door then jump on the ledge to the left. Now jump onto the building with the sealed door using a crouch jump. On top of the building you will find two dancing elites and the skull.
Effect: This skull lets you use active camo like the arbiter does.
-------------------
Level: Regret
Difficulty: Legendary (can be done on easy but skull doesn’t work)
Method: Right after the gondola ride following the battle with the hunters, there is a building with two turrets on it. Go in the building and turn to your right. There is a box, jump on it. From there jump to the light fixture, then to the ledge. The ledge leads to the area with the two turrets. Once there use a grenade jump to get onto the roof area, then, using crouch jumps and grenade jumps, follow the right side edge of the building. Once you have gone as far as you can go you will find a small grassy area with (on legendary) two cloaked dancing elites and the skull.
Effect: Makes all enemies invisible
-------------------
Level: Sacred Icon
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: There is a semi outdoor area that has the same type of area right next to it. There is a large sentinel in front of each one. Go past this area and down the piston and you'll be in a very dark flood filled area. There's a stack of 6 or 7 boxes as you enter the room, use them to jump up to the right ledge that is floating above a dead Human flood in a vent. And the skull is in the vent.
Effect: Makes all human vehicles harder to blow up
-------------------
Level: Quarantine Zone
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: At the very start of the level look to your left for an elite, to the left of the elite you will see a tunnel. Now go straight until you reach a cliff. Turn left again and follow the cliff around until you reach a rock wall. To the right of the wall and the cliff there is a narrow passage, and the skull is at the end of it (why is it never at the start of the passage?)
Effect: This one is actually fairly useful it will make your explosives more powerful and gives your melee even more power (like you needed any more after the last bungie update) so you can knock around large boxes.
-------------------
Level: Gravemind
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: Fight through the covenant city until you get outside, stick to the right hand side and walk along a wall. You should see a red covenant wall, crouch jump onto it and the skull is at a small grav lift.
Effect: I would love to tell you but I don’t have a clue, if any one else knows what it does, contact me and I will amend this bit.
-------------------
Level: High Charity
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: When you get in the last grav lift the skull will fly past you super fast so I hold X before even getting on the lift.
Effect: This makes it so there is absolutely no respawn when you are playing co-op.
-------------------
Level: The Great Journey
Difficulty: Legendary
Method: When you get a banshee and defend the scarab to the place that he blows up the door, fly above it and onto a railing, don't go too far on it or it will send the banshee flying, now jump out. You should be on the railing, which if you look up is aiming towards the middle of the big facility. Now go down a rail and head onto the spherical structure part and head to the pillar opposite of the one you were on, you can just walk on up and it is there.
Effect: This skull makes it so the only way to get your shield back is to melee someone to death this will go up until you get to overshield.
Can someone explain to me what skulls are and what they do. PLEASE
a skull is a little bonus that the guys down at bungie put into the game so you can hunt for them, all the skulls do different things, read the guide for all the details on what the skulls do on every level where to get them and what difficulty you have to be playing on.
I take it that skulls are good then?
Are they easy to find?
They aren't all good because some make the enemy stronger and others make you weaker, but there are some good ones. Some skulls are easy to find whereas others are really hard to find.
So there's realy no point in looking for them then if they are bad. or do you get something aswell as the bad with the bad skulls.
Well, thats not the point. Its to make the game more challenging for those level 30s who are tired of beating legendary over and over and would like some more variation. (Im only a level 22 and i think that legendary is too easy)
hehe the first level is solid on legendary the second hanger is impossible
