NOTE: The powers that are found in this topic are ONLY to be used by those who choose to be a GUARDIAN OR KEY. The only powers that could be exceptions would be telekinesis and premonition. That is only because if you are an experiment or was exposed to something that gave you the power in the first place..then it will be okay.

Their powers are not activated until they sense that someone is trying to release the Shadow, or if they are close enough to the tomb...OR come in contact with a Key.

There are ten [10] positions each. If you wish to be a Guardian or Key, please PM me for the details.

Oh, I have been asked this question: Do they have to be human?
The answer is no. I was not specific on who the Kings and Dragons chose to carry on the power. So Keys and Guardians can be human(ish), shape shifter..err I would allow a vampire, but it would have to be a made vampire that is chosen. Once their powers are activated they are not exactly vampires anymore.

Some of you are also having trouble with the relationship between Guardians and Keys. Here is the deal. Think of them like Watchers to Slayers and Whitelighters to Witches. (Buffy and Charmed) Those relationships are similar to how they are.





GUARDIANS



The descendants of those who vowed to protect the chosen KEY blood line.

The Guardians do not know who or what they are. They are in every sense, human. They tend not to stray very far from the island of Galway Bay. Many have heightened senses that are naturally given to them and cannot explain. They have excellent instincts, an aura of authority, extreme patients, and the ability to gain knowledge within a short time.

An overwhelming emotion to protect something valuable rushes through their bodies when their charges are near. When their chosen KEY has awakened, the Guardians receive their powers—which are like an overdose of the heightened senses. Through their powers they are given the knowledge of the Ancient One.

Their powers are meant to guide them to their charge and protect them from the demons that wish to trick them. The Guardians are meant to enlighten the chosen KEYS on their responsibility and teach them the ancient ways.




Powers:



[HEALING]— Placing a hand over the wound, a bright light forms in the palm. They can heal mostly minor wounds, but the major ones take a lot of their energy. The more they have to heal, the closer they come to death.

The can heal themselves. However instead of placing a hand over the wound they go into a deep slumber. Depending on the wound, they could be in that state for weeks.

[LUCID DREAMING]— To enter and some times control other’s dreams. In order for them to do this, they must have an image or object of the said person. They have to hang on to the object while in the dream state.

This is usually how they teach their charges lessons.

[PRECOGNITION]—To sense of things in advance. They can feel danger or something out of the ordinary is about to happen. Goose bumps, the rise of hairs on the back of the neck, or a numb feeling in the back of their head are their warning signs. The signs manage to happen a minute before the event happens.

[PREMONITION]—Much like precognition, instead of a feeling, they get a small glimpse. The vision can be triggered by hearing or touching something. When they are about to get a premonition, the back of their head goes numb. They are usually taken aback by the sudden flash that only last for a moment.

The vision indicates what went wrong in the future. For instance in a game of basketball, one of the players has the ball and they are about to make the winning score, but at the last minute fell. The Guardians would get a vision of the player’s shoe laces being untied and because of that, he fell and his team lost the game.

[EXTRA-SENSORY PERCEPTION]-- The power to contact a spirit. Guardians will NEVER use this unless the absolutely need to. For them to do this they would have to open a door way into the spirit realm. If not careful, anyone or thing could come out. Only the most experienced of the Guardians are allowed to use this power. Some choose never to tap into it at all.

KEYS


Note: Key's have reached a middle marker. We are no longer accepting KEYS at this time. Please look at the other groups, for we are needing them.



The KEYS are descendants of a chosen blood line that were given special powers from the Ancient Ones. They are human as well with the blood of a specific dragon. Their ancestors were the ones to imprison the “Shadow” in its prison. Their responsibly is to make sure that the “doorway” is kept sealed. However, they do have the power to open it as well.

If the “doorway” was to ever be opened and the “Shadow” released, they would have the power to imprison it again. Their Guardians must find them before any other interference trick them into believe that opening the “doorway” is a good idea.

The chosen KEYS tend to have a deeper insight into the soul of those around them. They are able to pick up on emotions, thoughts, and actions before anyone else and can solve conflicting problems with those around them. Each KEY has the personality of the dragon whose blood runs through their veins.

These people have been spread out throughout the world. The only time they come together would be when someone was near the “doorway” or had ill intentions. They are not aware of this fear, nor understand. Certain events usually lead them to the island.

Once they are somehow near the “doorway”, their powers are awakened. This sends out a vibe or signal that attracts their Guardians…and those who know about them. The KEYS do not understand what goes on with them and are most likely going to freak out until someone comes along and explains what’s happening.




Powers:


[CONJURE]— The power to summon their dragon spirit so that it can take their body as a vessel. The ONLY time this power will be used is if the "Shadow" was ever released and became to powerful for them to send back.

This power would cause them to lose quite a bit of their life energy. If it does not kill the KEYS then it will place them in a coma or change their body appearance to where they no longer could be seen by the public eye.

First they would have to put a bunch of herbs together, drink a mixture, wear the sacred ashes of the dragons, and say a bunch of chants. It usually takes a complete day in order for this to work.

[EMPATHY]— The ability to tune in on what others are feeling. The emotion is foreign to them and conflicts with their own. At first they are confused about what they feel. Once they have caught onto this power they are able to pin point the emotion and separate it from their own.

The power can be activated by touching someone in the slightest way. The feeling does not last long, just enough to realize how the person is inside.

[TELEPATHY]— The ability to read someone else’s thoughts. They are able to tap into the minds of the weak or those caught off guard. The thoughts can be processed by images or whispers they hear in the wind. The power comes natural for them and they do not need to do much.

[HYPNOSIS]— To put someone in a dream-like state long enough to do or say something. The ability requires them to make eye contact with the said person. The KEYS usually choose to do this to someone who has learned about them or suspects something unusual. They simply make the person forget what they were thinking. It can last up to an hour or a year, depending on the state of the person’s mind. If something were to happen it could easily trigger the hypnosis to discontinue.

[ILLUSIONS]— The ability to make others see what really isn’t there. This power is much like hypnosis. It is used to distract or confuse the said person. Instead of eye contact, the KEY must make physical contact with the person.

A drug-like chemical is passed from the KEY into the blood stream of the person. The chemical allows the person to let their mental barriers down. The KEY would be allowed to invade the mind in order to find out what the person wants to see, and make them believe that they are truly seeing it. The effect wears off within a few minutes.

[TELEKINESIS]— The ability to move an object or person from one place to the other using the mind. They can mentally picture what they want to move, where they want to move it, and how fast they want the object to get there.

The only thing is that they must have seen the object or person before in order to get a mental picture of it. If not, they have to physically be in the same room and use their hands to motion it to move.[I]

The Keys will be in the color of their dragon. The name beside them will be their Guardians. You don't get to pick your Key or Guardian, I do. Though I am going to wait until more positions filled before setting up the entire list.
