Cathy Jeneén Doe (Simone Russell)

Thanks to Paloma, Simone has gotten sucked into the mystery of the stolen paintings. However, she doesn’t realize the symbols they discovered are also somehow connected to her sister, Whitney. Cathy Jeneén Doe agreed to be interrogated so we could get the dirt on her character’s latest story.

Whitney and Simone are unknowingly working at cross-purposes in regards to the paintings... do you see a confrontation ahead for the two sisters?
I think it might actually do a lot to resolve the tension between them. I don’t think Whitney could do harm to Simone even though they are on opposite ends of this whole secret. As much as Simone is jealous of her and hates her half the time, she’s going to set out to find Whitney, who’s missing.

It’s been a while since Simone’s been on an adventure. Are you enjoying the mystery so far?
Oh, yeah. I’m really, really enjoying it. Simone apparently doesn’t go anywhere without Kay, so this is new. (Laughs) Kay’s been ignoring me because she has some boyfriend. It’s exciting to get out of Harmony and do something different.

Simone has a habit of lying to her parents about school trips. Did you ever pull sneaky stunts when you were a kid?
Yeah, my room was in the front of the house and my parents’ room was in the back of the house. And of course the driveway was in the front with the car! So yeah, I snuck out of the window a couple times. But nothing as exciting as flying to Rome.

You’d think Eve and TC would have stopped believing Simone by now.
I think because Whitney is involved in worse stuff, they kind of let Simone off the hook. Simone just gets caught for lying, whereas Whitney’s in love with her brother. Simone can slip under the wire with little teenage-y antics while Whitney’s having incest babies. (Laughs)

So Paloma works at the Book Café and Jessica works... on the streets. Why doesn’t Simone have a job?
Simone goes to class full-time, she’s just not into it. And I don’t think she has to work. Her mom’s a doctor. Although... she doesn’t offer Simone any money.

What about the $1000 she gave her for her supposed school trip to California?
But Simone had to lie about it!

Fine. Have you been to the Vendetta site? Have you been playing the game?
I’ve been to the Vendetta site but I went a week before the game started. I clicked on it, but it hadn’t started yet. I thought maybe it was a trick! But I plan to go back to play the game and find the symbols!

It's so refreshing to read actor's who totally understand the character's in which they play & you never get any falsehoods about them or the character's.

So, so happy Cathy & Sivana finally have big storyline's that aren't stupid or totally out of character.

eh, MIka this is a step, but JERK can do better justice with his talent. Happy Cathy and Silviana are getting airtime though.

She's sarcastic as hell. Of course, this means I have a new found love for her. I know she loves working with Brook, so I hope this goes a long way in mending something between, meaning, hopefully, we get more scenes.

i love that she can joke ab herself. and i like that the feel of this read was really like an interrogation. very cute.

yes, sister reconciliation! thats the thing im hoping for most as an outcome of this whole vendetta thing. that would make me more than happy. with family on her side and actually in her life, especially a sibling, i think it will help whit move past all the guilt she feels. simone should be her backbone right now, not still on that i can't stand you bc i'm jealous thing. it was great for '99, now it's old. and she's right, whit wouldn't hurt her.
