Title: So what's your theory
Description: Passions Vendetta

So I'm thinking, since the whole point of this s/l for now is to try and figure out who this monk is, I figured I'd start a post giving board members a chance to state their theories. Please, let's remember to follow board rules, and be respectful. I'm all for a diversity of opinions, but remeber your home training. Let the discussion begin.

Okay, so I'll shoot.

I think for now anyway, that the monk is really chad, and that the chudster we've come to know and abhor is an imposter hired by Alistair. I think real chud would want Whitney dead because A) she's tarnished his name with an act of "incest". Regardless of if he actually committed the act, it's HIS name that's linked to it. And B). She in turn for him being "killed" was raised as her mother's first born, and spoiled accordingly. I'm well aware that she isn't the only one he wants to kill, but I'm thinking that the monk hates all things Crane. But Whitney isn't a Crane, just her son and chud are, so why not work to kill them instead of just Whitney? She alone poses no threat to the Crane family. Alistair won't bat an eye if she's gone, no?

And if it is the real chud, it would explain him wanting Fancy dead. She is the apple of her "grampy's" eye. Taking a place that could rightfully belong to him. OR, the fact that she defends him, and Alistair is the man that will have ruined his life.

And let us not forget, Alistair is NOT beneath hiring imposters. And getting a chud imposter, especially if he waves a LOT of money in the face of some kid from the "street". It also explains chud's marriage NEVER coming up til they get to LA, and then BAM, he was married before he got to Harmony. The question then becomes, was the LA gang in on it, or is imposter chud really just a case of switched identity, and it's all a sick game of Alistair's? Theories abound folks. This would all give light to the rumor that "Whitney will see that chud isn't who she thinks he is" and it would still keep it's dangerous undertones. Why should she trust imposter chud, who's been lying to her this whole time? Why, because his "conscience" got to him, which is why he's trying to help her? He "fewl in wuv" and is trying (in the shittiest of ways) to save her? Is that suppose to make them rootable again? HA, nice try JER, but I can definitely see you using that exact angle.

This also gives validity to any hatred he may foster for Simone. And Paloma would just be an appendage of Simone for this particular trip. ALTHOUGH, if they have dirt on Alistair, that could be to the monk's advantage down the line. Because let's face it, everyone's ultimate goal for revenge leads to Alistair Crane. This show should be renamed "who's going to try to kill Alistair this year"

I haven't gotten a chance to develope every angle of this theory yet, but I'm working on it for now. We'll call it my running theory.

So please, share your thoughts.

Um how can I top that one?

That's genuis Sylv and would call for a GREAT fic *bigasscough*

Well mydreamtheorywillneverhappenbutI'llshareitanyway...is for this 'mystery monk' to actually be Whitney's new love interest. From what I gather this Monk is suppose to want to Whitney dead? Ok fine that's believable I guess, since Alistair is probably under this dude's payroll and we all know how much Alistair loves chaos to say the least. So in the process of this so called murderous monk, we have a man tha basically sees Whitney a very disturbed woman that's beyond hard on herself to say the least...but beyond that he sees her bare, completely naked. Especially when she faints and sees him as "God" so that could be his moment of an epiphamy and instead of hurting her he'll do whatever it takes to protect her hence falling for her. I too didn't think this through and basically writing as I think so this might be weird but I also think Whitney all on her own will realize that Chad Harris is beyond from anything logical/normal/basically any form of humanistic characteristics and sees the number he's doing to Harmony idiots like the unmentionables. And I'd really like to see Whitney slowly build back up her confidence, sanity, and most importantly HER LOVE for herself. That way when everything is intact with Whitney Russell she comes back to Harmony ready to take what's hers...HER SON. First and for most.

But I do like your idea of an imposter and the guy that unfortunately didn't kill "Chad" in LA...Puff Dog would be a great real Chad.

I have had quite a few floating around my head. But I think my orignal therary is the truth that monk is not a man or a woman. That monk is the devil. He has possessed a past or present character or he is going to possess Whitney to do his dirty work for him. Whitney is in a whole lot of trouble God will be the only one who can save her and they rest of them as well.
