Title: What's wrong with Brook?
Description: Kristoff St. John GETS IT.

sorcera - December 28, 2005 04:09 PM (GMT)
Haven't posted in a while, but I recently heard that Kristoff St. John (Neil) of Y&R has chosen to leave Y&R, and had to post. I hope that it is true because it's quite clear that Jack Smith is no Bell and could care less about the Winters.

I always find it telling how Phylis can move from story to story, family to family, set to set, while Dru/Neil/ the Winters remain on the periphery of the show, waiting for the next African American actor to show up and be tossed in with them. (No wonder Victoria Rowell has never gotten an Emmy.) I say THANK GOD he's leaving. He GETS IT. Neil was forever emasculated by his brother, his wife, the Newmans, etc.. courtesy of Jack Smith. Now there won't be any pretense.

But my point is this:

Why is Brook still on Passions? I just don't get it. How many more slaps does it take? Eight? Nine? Ten? A million?

If she never had a good story, I could understand her waiting around for one.

But she DID have a good story. Hell, she had a great one with Fox and the Cranes, and it made people take notice of her talents.

So why did JER snatch it from her?
Why was her story taken away, and not Sheridan's? Or Teresa's?

You all know the answer. But I'll still say it.

JER and company purposely and irrevocably "put her back in her place."

He literally took from Brook/Whitney to give to Kay and appease whichever "actors" that were gumbling about Brook's increasing popularity.

Someone wasn't happy when prenoms came out last year and their names weren't on the list.

NO OTHER story in the history of the show has abruptly ended and been whitewashed the way Whitney's story with Fox was. And like I foresaw, it is now like the two never had ANY relationship. In order to erase it from viewers' memories, they won't EVER be allowed to have scenes together, unless it's to have Whitney tell Fox to fight for Kay.

So my continued belief is that Brook is purposely being targeted because she got too much notice while playing opposite someone who can actually ACT.

Therefore, as long as she stays on the show, JER won't remove Divins from Brook's face. EVER.

****What's the point of calling the character Chad since it's obvious that it IS about the "ACTOR" and not the character?

Divins is the TOOL being used to "keep Brook in her place."

If you want a solid couple, you get a solid actor who doesn't look like his love interest.

In other words, if JER wants the viewers to stomach incest and feel for the character before revealing that they aren't siblings, he would get someone who can ACT. I don't expect Joaquin Phoenix's Commodus from Gladiator, but dammit, you get someone better.. and someone who preferrably doesn't actually look like the love interest's brother.

Divins will be Brook's only romantic interest, main acting partner, for as long as she stays on the show.

Why?

Because that's the best way to keep her in the supporting role.. and not confuse her as a lead actress.

So, what the hell is wrong with Brook? (Mind you, I'm asking out of love.)

I think she needs to take a stand; being silent has gotten her nowhere but neck-deep in the most disgusting pairing on daytime with the worst actor on the show.

E.

E, it's good to see you around again. i was wondering the other day if you were ok.

i think BK is just biding her time, and she's leaving soon. just a gut feeling. no one, not even her, will take all the bs they're giving her at this blunder of a show. also, some are saying that her contract stipulations are keeping her there. i don't know exactly what they are currently, so i can't say. but i think the announcement is coming soon. there's way too much opportunity just waiting for her out there beyond the show.

Yeah I agree with Nuri, although I truly want BK to leave Passions somehow I feel she won't BUT this crap has to change either way.

I definately don't think Divins looks like BK she's exquisite beauty and he's just that.

Take care E, don't be a stranger.

I think her contract isn't up like Kristoff's was. He has the choice not to resign now. She doesn't until later in 2006 (I'd assume the summertime since that's when the show started). I don't expect her.

I think Brook gets it, really I do. But I can't blame her for not wanting to fork over a large amount of cash when she can just wait it out. I could see if she has 3 more years left or something like that. But to my knowledge, she's in the next go round of contracts that are up. I don't expect her to play Whitney at the end of 2006. And God bless the young woman who will be. But it's good to see you back E.

I think that Brook has to work out the remainder of her contract. No actor wants to be known as someone who breached their contract.
