“Well you’re not going to try and give me some type of an excuse?” Asked Frank, with the slightest hint of disappointment in his voice that almost went unnoticed, but what hurt him the most, was the fact that Whitney seemed so nonchalant of the entire situation.
“There’s nothing to say, I told you one thing, and you don’t believe me, not my problem.” Shrugged Whitney. She was about to walk away but Frank grabbed her arm; something suddenly snapped...she reversed his hold, threw him on the ground, and buried his head in the carpet, still holding his twisted arm.
“Are you crazy?” Frank mumbled a few words as Whitney continued, “I can’t hear you! Speak louder!”
She turned his head to the side as he said, just above a whisper, “What’s your problem, I only grabbed your arm because I didn’t want to leave things the way they were, I didn’t mean to grab you thinking it meant something else. I'm sorry.” Frank ended with sincerity in his voice.
Awww maybe I was too hard on him, wait a second I may be only 12 but I aint stupid….mama didn’t raise no FOOL. That's for sure... Man I hang out with Layla too much...Shaking her head, she increased the pressure on Frank’s head, as she said, “I think you should leave…..” Whitney got up and walked to the door with his book bag that she quickly grabbed from the sofa in her hand, and motioned him to the doorway. Frank attempted to speak but Whitney put her hand on his lips.
“We’ll talk later” With that said, she slowly closed the door in his face. “MOM…DAD I’ll be back later!” She ran out the house.
~*~
“I’ll get it!” Shouted Van.
“No we don't want to donate to the needy.Better luck next time...” Van said closing the door, as JR bombarded his way past Van.
“Hey Van, oooh my trip went well, thanks for asking….yeah I hope you had a great holiday too…you are just TOO kind. I missed you so.” JR ended in a sarcastic tone.
Van rolled her eyes and completely ignored him. “Well hello Fox, how are you? Hope you had a woooooooooonderful holiday..." Van was looking directly at JR.
"Please won’t you come in. Would you like anything to drink? Anything to eat?” Sticking her tongue out at JR, Van had her left arm on Fox’s shoulders and snuffed JR with her right hand.
Fox laughed. “Are you two always like this?”
“No” JR snuffed Van back. “YES” Van said at the same time kicking JR's shin.
"Oh shoot..." Whitney was surprised they didn't see her run into the garbage cans at the Brownstone’s, the house located between hers and the girls…she quickly crawled behind the palm tree located in front of the girls home…but Layla skipping down the stairs saw everything...“OUCH you ok?” Van and Fox turned around to see what Layla was talking about.
Without hesitation, Fox ran over to Whitney. JR was too busy helping himself to the refrigerator. "Are you ok?"
What a dummy...why is she my friend again?“Yeah…I um dropped my contact lens..” Replied 20/20 vision Whit, pretending to pick up the non existent contact. She slowly started getting up praying her cheeks weren’t flushed red, with Fox’s assistance of course. She dusted herself off, and they both walked towards Layla.
“Hey Fox, what are you doing here?” Asked Layla.
“Hey…I came with JR…”
“You came with JR!?!” Layla mimicked, sounding a tad too excited and cutting Fox off.
“Yeah…is something wrong with that?” Fox smiled.
Figuring she should save her dear friend Whitney asked, “Hey what’s that noise?”
"Uh that noise..." Layla still mimicking. Whitney knew it was JR belching the ABC’s she figured she’d remove the foot in Layla’s mouth. Or try too...
“Hey Van, is it too late to take you up on that offer?” Asked Fox.
“No not at all, while we’re at it we’ll smack sense into your cousin.” Replied Van as her and Fox walked straight into the kitchen. Van left the front door ajar, smirking.
“Ok you can breathe now….” They both said at the same time, grabbing each others arms.
“ME!?!?” They said in unison once more, darting looks at each other that practically read 'the black nerve'.
“I’m not the one that stopped breathing and ran into a STILL garbage can….” Layla started.
“Yeah just like I’m not the one that got tongue tied TWICE. At LEAST I was smart enough to stay quiet. Unlike someone I know who made themselves pretty obvious.” Said Whit, cutting Layla off and abruptly stopping her laughter.
Layla frowned. “Whatever...:" Layla started heading inside but Whit tapped her shoulder.
“Wait I need to talk to you and Van…” Whispered Whitney.
“Ok, lets go in my room. And go grab Van.” Replied Layla.
“Yeah OK and just leave Fox and JR….how will that look? Besides that’s not right…”
“Since when do you care about what’s right and wrong?” Layla smiled and Whitney smiled.
“I’m not you…” Layla stopped smiling and started walking away again, when Whitney started stomping her feet.
"Seriously….lets just stay out here and talk for a bit please? I'll just tell Van later.” Layla was sort of curious to know why Whitney was so quiet with Fox; she knows Whitney would normally jump at the opportunity to say some snide remark to Fox…but not today.
“Alright let’s go sit on the bench…ya big baby.” Motioned Layla as her and Whitney sat on the bench.
“Ok so what has you reverting back to terrible two’s!?!” Asked Layla.
“You should talk. That's your native tongue." Layla smacked her leg and frowned again.
"Aww...did I hurt your feelings???" Whitney started batting her eyes. Layla stuck her nose up.
"I did something dumb, but then Frank did something dumber, then I ended it with the dumberer move…but actually...” Whit explained in two seconds. World record right?
Layla put her hand on Whitney's mouth. “Stop it, breathe and lets try that in English please.” Layla did the motion of a deep inhale.
Whitney took a deep breath. “I called Frank Fox…”
“YOU CALLED FRANK FOX!!!” Screamed Layla, parroting Whit. Whitney quickly covered her mouth.
“Would you shut up, if I wanted the whole block to hear me I’d take my bullhorn from my back pocket…”
“You have a bullhorn?” Layla looked.
Whitney shook her head. “NO! Focus PLEASE”
“Hey I’m not the one that mixed up my boy toy’s. That would be YOU.” Replied Layla.
“I know….I know. What am…wait a second Fox is not my damn boy toy!” Said Whitney as Layla laughed.
“Potato patato…” Whit rolled her eyes and started heading inside to go find what she referred to as the ‘smart’ twin, especially when Layla annoyed her.
Layla quickly stopped her. “Alright…geesh you can’t take a joke, fine tell me everything. How did this happen? And I promise I WON’T interrupt…pinky swear.” Layla grinned innocently, with her pinky out as a "peace offering" of sorts. Whitney looked at it and interlocked her pinky with Layla's. A deal was made...
“OK long story short, when Frank said he missed me I said I miss you too Fox…” Layla bit the inside of her lip, praying she wouldn’t laugh.
“I see that! Anyway then I tried to pull something YOU’D do, which is lie and failed miserably. To TOP that I acted as if I didn’t care, then I body slammed his ass.” Said Whit exhaling her deep breath.
Layla just beamed and hugging her friend tightly. “I’m SO PROUD OF YOU!” Slightly confused, Whitney broke their embrace.
“WHAT!?! WHY? There’s nothing….”
“You’re becoming more and more like me!”
“THAT’S not a good thing!” Said Whit, cutting Layla off.
“Whatever! Don’t fight it! The grass is greener on my side of the fence.” Winked Layla, slapping Whit’s leg. Whitney just shook her head.
“Ok so what am I going to do?”
“Um nothing. I’m sure Frank deserved that body slam and if he didn’t he will soon enough, it was just premature. He'll get over it and if not, oh well…now lets go inside and join the rest of them.” Said Layla, pulling Whit as they both went inside. Whitney had no idea that conversation had an extra pair of sly ears...

“I just don’t know what to do….” Theresa sighed.
“HOW about nothing!” Said Paloma, growing agitated by the second.
“Yeah Loma’s right…” Gwen chimed in.
“Easy for you guys to say. I like this guy, a lot. I mean I may not have known him for that long but we…connected.” Said Theresa, beaming, as she was squeezing her teddy bear Sammy, almost as if her bear was a temporary replacement for
him.
“Connected!?! You’re fourteen you don’t know anything about that Theresita.” Replied Paloma
“I don’t remember inviting you in my room…”
“That never stopped me before.” Paloma caught the pillow Theresa just threw at her.
“Ok guys enough…." Gwen added, playing referee as always.
"I still can’t believe you guys are leaving me here.” Gwen continued, trying to change the subject but also very sad she was about to lose her best friends.
“Oh come on Gwen you’ll still see us, during the holidays and summers.” Said Paloma
“I know. So you never told us the identity of this so called mystery guy you like.” Gwen finished.
“I….uh….” Theresa was interrupted with her phone ringing, leaping as if her life depended on it she quickly grabbed it.
“Hello….” She said, giggling as she placed the phone on her chest. “Would you guys excuse me please?”
Paloma and Gwen gave one another looks. “Who the hell is that?” Asked Paloma.
“We’ll go downstairs Resa...” Gwen said, grabbing Paloma by the arm.
"Let go Gwen! I want to know who it is." Paloma insisted, trying to get out of Gwen's grasp.
"So do I so just zip it and follow my lead." Gwen said after Theresa closed the door behind them.
“Finally….hey Frank, did you have a safe trip home?” Theresa smiled so hard it's a wonder Frank did see it all the way in California...
“Yeah…” Frank sounded a little down.
“What’s the matter?”
“Nothing really…well I just got into a fight with my girlfriend.”
Theresa knew Frank had a girlfriend, and was OK with just being friends, when they agreed to exchange contact information after they bumped into each other for the second time yesterday, right before the gang headed back to Harmony. Now that her entire family is uprooting from Harmony to LA, definitely. And the fact that Frank only knew this information as a possibility, Theresa might be singing a different tune.... she has yet to tell Frank the update.
“Oh, do you want to talk about it?” Trying desperately to sound as if she wants to hear his troubles. “Its just I don’t get her, she gets mad at me after she called me Fox…”
“Fox? As in Gwen’s friend?” Asked Theresa.
“Yeah”
“I don’t get it...why did she get mad at you after calling you another boy’s name? That doesn't make sense.”
“Well…she sorta misunderstood me grabbing her hand and she slammed me on the ground. I didn't even know she had that kind of strength...”
“GOOD for her!” Blurted Theresa, quickly slapping her head. She tried to explain herself just as quickly.
“I mean…”
“No you’re right I shouldn’t have grabbed her.”
“Ok just as long as you know. I may not know her or anything, but she’s a girl just like me…and she handled you just how I would.” Theresa admitted. Frank just laughed.
"Frank I'm serious. And I have two brothers and a crazier sister than me."
"Ok thanks for the warning buddy." Theresa's liking the friend scenario less and less...
Gwen and Paloma were listening on the other side of Theresa’s door. “Who the heck is Frank? Is it just me or does it sounds like this Frank has a girlfriend?” Asked Paloma.
Gwen shrugged. “I don’t know, but he knows my Fox…and this so called girlfriend seems interested in Fox…I have to go.”
“What? Now? Why?” Paloma grabbed her arm.
“Because I’m going to ask my mom if we can move to LA too, I know its a long shot but I have to try...” Said Gwen as she skipped down the stairs of the Bennett home, and Paloma just shook her head and continued to eavesdrop, until she dropped the glass in her hand. “Oh crap” Paloma ran down the stairs.
“Frank I have to call you back, I’m about to commit murder. You'll hear about it on the news.” Said Theresa, hanging up the phone without waiting for a response.

“So Fox how does it feel to be a teenager?” Asked Layla. The kids were in the kitchen at the table, eating the burgers Lisa made.
“I guess the same way it felt last year….no biggie.” Shrugged Fox.
“GET out! Its not everyday someone turns THIRTEEN! A teenager! Its a very big deal Fox. Happy Birthday.” Said Whitney, as she reached over to Fox and kissed him on the cheek. JR smirked, Layla kicked him from underneath the table and Van almost choked on her lemonade.
OMG where the hell did that come from…..breathe….just breathe…AND in front of everyone no less. I have to get out of here... “I’m going to call Chris…” Van quickly made herself scarce.
“Yeah JR could you help me with something please?” Asked Layla. JR propped his head in his right hand, just staring at Whitney and Fox. Layla cleared her thought, hoping JR would catch on, and no such luck, so she slapped him on the back of the head.
“OUCH, you meant now?” JR whined, rubbing his head.
“No tomorrow dufus...”
"Really? OK."
"Ugh." She grabbed his arm and dragged him out of the kitchen. Whitney started poking her burger. “That was sweet...” Fox blurted.
“What?" Whitney looked up.
"Oh. Well its your birthday I figured I’d be nice to you for the day of your birth….I mean its the least I can do.” Replied Whitney as Fox laughed, and eventually Whitney joined in on the laughter.
Ok can’t laugh forever….“So when do you want to get together to talk about our science project?” Asked Whitney taking a sip of her lemonade.
IDIOT...school work?? Good one Whit."Yeah we can talk about that or your slip up..." Fox smirked. Whitney started choking, bending her head over.
Fox walked behind her and slapped her back. "There you go. All better. Now you can tell me about you calling Frank the wrong name." Fox smiled.
Ok whitty one...what to do? Can't lie cause this is Fox and that's not my strong point and I definitely can't tell the truth cause his head will get bigger....mommy help...!! Wait, mommy? You're a little too old for that now Whit. Say something before Fox thinks you're on another planet!"I don't know what you're talking about..." Whitney started collecting the dishes to put them in the sink.
"Sure you don't whitty one..." replied Fox. Whitney dropped the dishes.
He reads minds...??? He's not that cool. Its just a coincidence...Yeah a coincidence. Not like we have some cosmic connection..."Let me help you..." Fox offered.
"NO its ok." Whitney snatched the broken glass from his hand.
"OUCH..." Whitney grabbed her index finger and started sucking on it.
"Let me see."
"No you're not a doctor." Whitney pulled her hand away.
"I don't think it takes an MD to wrap a cut. Where's the first aid kit?" Fox asked as Whitney subconsciously pointed to the top cabinet on the left hand side.
Whitney stop acting like he's a walking disease. He'll think something horrific like you like him. What if I do? Whitney shook her head.
No I don't... Oh lord, note to self...seek professional help for this mental conversational habit. "OK you're right..."
"I'm what??? I must have massive wax build up or something." Whitney laughed as Fox attended to her hand. Fox will leave the slip up alone...for now anyway.
"Everything ok kids?" Lawrence came rushing down the stairs. "Whitney how are you sweetheart, where are twirly and twisty?"
"Hi Mr. W, they're upstairs." Whitney smiled releasing their embrace.
"Oh ok...wait who are you?"
"I'm Nicholas Crane sir. Nice to meet you." Fox extended his hand out and Lawerence shook it.
"Nice to meet you too Nicholas. Well carry on." Lawrence went back upstairs.
"Which one is twisty?" Fox asked bending down to pick up the dust pan.
"Beats me." Whitney shrugged.
"And nothings wrong with your ears. I already told you its your birthday. Today and today only I'm going to be completely nice to you." Whitney smiled.
Cool he forgot about the slip up. Thank goodness..."So if I were you I'd take full advantage of that. It's only for today..." Whitney finished.
Whitney Russell what am I going to do with you??"There's the answer ten years later..." Whitney shoved him.
Fox laughed. "Doesn't matter. After today you'll treat me like its my birthday every day..."
"What's that suppose to mean?" Whitney hit his arm, demanding his attention
"You'll see. Let me finish cleaning this, I don't want you to hurt yourself..." Fox took the broom from Whitney.
"Oh so you're saying I'm a klutz?" Whitney yanked the broom back from him.
"No...I...oh forget it. There's no winning with you."
"That's right. I'm glad you finally figured that out. Took you long enough." Fox shook his head as they finished cleaning up the mess together.
"So things didn't change with you and Tony?" JR asked. They were in the den playing Super MARIO brothers on Super NINTENDO. The good old' days...
"DAMNIT I will pass this board if it kills me! Stupid lava board." Layla grunted barely hearing JR.
"Yeah but do I look like I care?" Layla continued not taking her eyes off the screen.
"Oh no. Bowser...here." Layla handed JR the controller.
JR laughed. "L you act like Bowser is so hard to beat..."
"He is. Now be quiet it takes full concentration to beat him." Layla ordered. JR thought Layla looked the cutest when she bossed him around, then again there isn't anything about Layla that JR doesn't like. He just looked at her and smiled.
"LOOK what you did! You died!" Layla shot up and grabbed her hair.
"I could have done that all on my own." Layla shoved JR and he started laughing hysterically.
"I didn't even save it because I was counting on you to kill Bowser." JR was still laughing and Layla grabbed him in a head lock. "L...get...off..."
"HA not laughing now are we? SUCKER!" Layla ruffled JR's hair...something he hates and she knows this...
"JR stop..." Layla said as she immediately released him. JR was tickling her...her big mouth twin told him she was very ticklish.
"What the hell is going on here?" Lawrence asked. JR immediately popped up.
"Oh hi daddy..."
"Don't oh hi daddy me."
"What? We were playing video games and I put him in a head lock so he tickled me to get out. That's all. Where's mom?"
"She's at the office with TC."
"Mr. Russell? Why?" Layla knew the answer but she also knew her father can only concentrate one thing at a time. Shame on Layla...
"Because they decided to open up their own law firm...and that takes a lot of planning sweetheart. Speaking of, I have to go get ready to go pick her up. Excuse me." Lawrence left.
"That was genius..." JR said reaching for a high five but Layla left him hanging.
"Genius my eye." Lawrence popped his head back in and shook his head at JR's goofy grin at Layla.
"This is not a hang out spot to do whatever Layla and you know that. First Whitney now you. And your sister better not be with a boy too." Lawrence warned giving Layla the look she fears.
"Uh...she's on the phone with Chris and don't worry they are leaving pronto daddy. I promise."
"Antonio's brother?" Asked Lawrence. Layla nodded her head.
"Great another Vega...just what I need." Lawrence finished finally leaving.
JR busted out into laughter once more. "What he hell is so funny?" Layla asked punching his arm.
"I gotta learn that look your dad gives you. I'm sure it will be helpful in the future." Layla tried smacking him but tripped on her untied shoe laces right in his arms. He just stared at her making her feel uncomfortable.
"Why are you hiding behind Antonio?" JR asked not breaking their contact.
"Yeah Layla why?" Van asked leaning in the doorway. Layla got up.
"Why'd you tell him I like him?" She walked over to her sister to smack her arm.
"You broke twin code bitch." Layla shoved Van.
"One day someone will kick your ass. Worse than right now..." Van shoved her back.
"I didn't tell him. You just did. By breaking the number one rule dummy...never show your clueless colors in front of a boy no matter what." Layla grunted and grabbed Van in a head lock and they started fighting.
"She likes me...she really likes me." JR repeated a few times with that goofy grin again. He was still in shock as Van and Layla continued to rumble on the ground...
"So...that's why you resent your dad?" Asked Whitney, taking a scoop of the sliced strawberry cheesecake she was sharing with Fox.
"Yeah I mean he didn't have to just leave my mom like that you know? Not to mention he abandoned my sister and I..." Fox's expression suddenly saddened.
Whitney rested her hand on his arm. "Hey..."
"You sure Mrs. W wouldn't mind us eating her cheesecake." Fox took a scoop so big the strawberry icing was sliding down the side of his face.
"Yes I'm sure." Whitney lied, reaching to wipe the side of Fox's face as they shared a small smile. The girls knew two rules to always obey, never wake up Mrs. W during her power naps and never EVER EVER EVER under any circumstances touch her strawberry cheesecake.
SO dead. Whitney cleared her throat. "I get you don't want to talk about your sister..."
"It's not that." Fox assured.
"Long version shorten, I moved out here because I begged my mom, and told her I just needed a change. I wished she'd come too but she stuck around hoping my deadbeat dad would return. I wouldn't count on that though. And my sister bolted after my dad left cause she thought my mom drove him away so I kinda hate her."
"Don't say that." Whitney snapped.
"I.."
"You're lucky you even have a sister and you should try and patch things up...at least you have that option."
"Let me guess, can't talk to yours?" Fox chuckled.
Whitney frowned. "No because she's dead."
Fox almost choked. "Whit...I'm so sorry..."
"Its ok, you didn't know. Yeah she died before I moved out here, she was two years older than me. My absolute best friend, my idol, my rock." Whitney smiled.
"I really miss her...life's so...cruel...unfair and unjust." Whitney made a fist and slammed it down the table.
"Why not me instead of her?" Whitney gritted her teeth with misty eyes.
"And I'm so sick of hearing 'don't say that it was her time'... WHO makes that damn decision and where can I find that jerk?" Whitney took a deep breath. Fox didn't say anything. Not that he was scared but he actually understood how she felt. Not that he went through it too but he understood. He just didn't have the words to say.
"Thanks..."
"For what?"
"Letting me vent instead of pretending you knew what to say."
"Listening is my specialty so today's session is free of charge." Fox smiled. Whitney laughed.
The girls breaking the vase on the coffee table snapped JR out of Layla Land. "FOX! WHITNEY!" At first they didn't hear him, they were too wrapped up in each other.
"Did you hear that?" Whitney asked.
"Yeah sounded like JR. Lets go see the damage." Fox got up and waited for Whitney to hook her arm on his which she did.
She smiled. "Lead the way."
"You are so lucky you don't wear weave...I'd proudly yank it out right now." Layla said pinned down underneath Van.
"Aww is that anger I detect? Just because you're all talk...and can't even beat a dead fly." Layla pulled Van's hair and reversed the pin.
"Now who's QUEEN pin..." Layla gloated.
"I let you do that STUPID!" JR successfully scooped Layla off of Van.
"LET me go...I'm about to be twinless." Layla tried to get free from JR.
"What's going on here?" Whitney asked running in the room and walking over to Van who was still on the ground helping her up. Layla elbowed JR causing him to hover over in pain. Layla ran straight for Van and Whitney. Their backs were to Layla. Fox grabbed Whitney out of the way and Layla pinned Van once again.
"What are you doing?" Whitney asked attempting to stop them.
"Are you crazy...you don't come between a sibling fight...especially a twin fight. It's dangerous" Fox said.
"So we just stand here and let them fight?"
"Yup...they'll burn themselves out eventually." Fox continued.
"The Crane Way. Come on lets go finish the lemonade downstairs." JR said, mighty chipper whistling down the hall.
"Come on..." Fox tried to convince Whitney to tag along.
"No you go. I need to find out why these morons are acting like they don't have home training. Don't worry I won't stop them from fighting." Whitney walked over to the couch and started reading the magazine and Fox went down stairs. Whitney put the magazine down after Fox left. She grabbed a cushion and threw it at the girls. And they didn't budge.
So she walked over to them and kicked them both. "OW. What did you do that for?" They asked in unison.
"Get up and look in that mirror." Whitney motioned them to the mirror. "Ohmigod..." Was all they could say. Everything was right side up...hair all over the place.
"Yeah and you guys did this in front of JR and..."
"OH NO. He knows I like him." Layla slapped her forehead.
"What? how?"
"I blurted it out and blamed Van." Layla faced her twin.
"I'm so sorry..." She hugged her.
"No I'm sorry more..."
"No I'm sorry more...."
"No I'm..."
Whitney clapped her hands together getting their attention. "What are you going to do?"
"Act like it never happened. That always works...Come on, lets get ready for the amusement park." Layla replied.
"Amusement park?" Whitney echoed.
"Yeah Fox didn't tell you? JR's taking all of us to the Amusement Park..."
"But its winter." Whitney said cutting Van off.
"Yeah. In LA dummy. This isn't Harmony...when will you get west coast is totally different." Layla promised.
"I'm learning it more and more by the second. How are we getting there? None of us are old enough to drive..."
"Which is why JR has a limo. He thinks of everything." Layla beamed.
"Aww. Is Antonio coming?" Whitney asked laughing. Layla's smile disappeared.
"Only if Frank is." Whitney suddenly stopped laughing.
"You guys are so immature..." Van said shaking her head.
"OH shut up." Whitney and Layla said in unison.
"Hey Van you know Whitney called Frank Fox..."
"Really when? Wait, how do you know?" Van asked looking at Whitney.
Oh crap..."Oh Whit told me..." Layla said nonchalantly.
"Whit I thought I was your best friend too..." Van said before heading downstairs.
"GOOD one." Whitney hit the back of Layla's head, almost causing her to tumble.
"What?"
"You know how she thinks we're closer..."
"We are." Layla shrugged fixing her hair in front of the mirror.
Whitney just shook her head and left. "Van wait up..."
"Thought they'd never leave...now I can try on my super secure miracle bra." Layla walked away, whistling on a job well done.
"Hey wait a minute." Whitney pulled Van's arm.
"What?" Van asked with attitude.
"I only told her first because Fox and JR were in the kitchen with you. I mean how would it look if I asked you to follow me and Van..."
"True. But you could have waited to tell us at the same time."
"But I would have exploded if I was forced to wait." Whitney made blow up sounds making Van laugh.
"Fine. Just this once. The next cazillion stories you have to tell, you have to tell me first and I don't care what you have to do to get that done. Got it?" Van said, waving her hand in Whitney's face.
Whitney jumped in military position and saluted. "Scouts honor."
"Ok I'm ready to go now..." Layla walked over with a smile.
"OMG" Van and Whitney said in unison amazed at Layla's sudden 'growth spurt'.
"What?" Layla asked.
Whitney shook her head. "Nothing..."
"OH my damn..." Fox said coming out the kitchen. His eyes first landed on Layla's chest.
"I just remembered I didn't call my mom yet..." Fox walked right back in the kitchen.
"OMG if you guys noticed then JR will for sure..." Layla ran back upstairs freaked out. Whitney and Van busted out in a laughter. Layla came downstairs about ten minutes later. Back to her norm self and they all left for the park on the beautiful Saturday afternoon. Yup I went and looked up Jan 1, 1994 fell on a Saturday...
Dear Diary,
OMG! Today was like the best day of my life!!! I had so much fun at Disney's California Adventure. Like we went on EVERY RIDE! We were treated like royalty cause it was Fox's birthday but I really think its because he's a Crane and JR's a Chandler...and we all know money talks. SO my parents keep saying, and they also keep saying that will mean something to me someday because it doesn't mean squat now. Whatever enough of that...like the funniest thing happened, I found out Fox suffers from allodoxaphobia, a fear of heights...although he claimed to suffer from acrophobia, which is the mild case...but I'll get back to that later. Slow me didn't catch on until Fox and I went on like four rides that barely left the ground. OH yeah JR, Layla and Van all thought they were geniuses for suddenly getting 'lost' every single time we were all suppose to go on a ride together. Talk about L-A-M-E. I so have to thank them later. :) I mean I thought at first he was just doing that because he likes the kiddie rides and because he's such a big baby but it wasn't the case...especially when we went on the flying elephant ride. I mean the ride left the ground three feet...NOT even. I mean I glanced at Fox and he's huffing and puffing...turned white as a ghost. I thought he was making fun of me because when I was kid, I use to be afraid of heights but then I remembered I never told him that. Anyway, so I asked him if he was OK...he couldn't even speak. I thought he didn't hear me but later on he told me if he answered me it would have taken away from his concentration of panicking...I laughed so hard. Funniest stuff I've ever heard him say to date. So after much taunting about he's too wimpy to actually go on one of the other rides he finally came with me. So JR and his mom Mrs. C thought it would be funny to play a prank. Oh did I forget to mention that Mrs. C came with us? I mean its not like we're grown folk and can actually go to an over sized amusement park by ourselves...even in LA. Folks aint that fast. She's totally cool and down to earth just like JR. But back my birthday boy...I mean the birthday boy. So anyway when Fox and I were on the Ferris wheel Mrs. C arranged for it to stop when we were in the air so of course I freaked out because I thought the ride was broken. At this point I didn't know about the prank. And Fox started laughing and I hit him but for some reason my eyes trailed at the bottom and landed exactly on JR and Mrs. C and I realized what they were doing...haha joke now on Fox. So I started taunting him, one of my specialties and favorite things to do to Fox. I started telling him that we're going to be stuck up there until they figure out where exactly is the problem and I continued by telling him that could take forever... I just wanted him to admit he had a fear of heights and not a 'mild' condition. So I finally got my way...not exactly how I planned but I got it. The poor guy squealed so loud for his mommy, a moment I'll never let him live down for as long as I live. I think the entire park heard him. Fox Crane is truly one of a kind. OH no, I smiled as I typed that...I'm liking him a little too much. Today I totally didn't even think of my so called boyfriend or the fact we had a fight. See my thing is I'm only 12. Why should I worry about stuff like this? Its not like I'm going to become Mrs. Frank Lomax or anything right?? I think I need a break from him. Back to Fox, I cannot believe that Fox and I are going to Miami only for a few days...but WHO CARES its with Fox! In a few days...man they can't come fast enough. Um cause of the fact I'm so enthused to compete in the science project and increase my academic knowledge... *nervously laughs*
I'm glad that I got to know Mrs. C a little bit, because she'll be our escort since neither of our parents are available. Hmm...which has me thinking I don't know much about Fox or his family...I can always ask him in Miami. I can't wait!! Oh yeah twirly and twisty....well Van couldn't stop yapping away on Mrs. C's phone with Chris...friends my hiney. Can't wait til school starts to see how long that utter BS stays. BOO. I just remembered we start school the day after Fox and I come back...oh well. OOPS I totally skipped a part. Tell me why my 'shy' friend Van bumped into this boy named Todd Manning or was it Manny something...I think, whatever, and then she couldn't stop flirting with him! Like I didn't even recognize Van whatsoever and he wasn't even that cute...he screams trouble. ODORS in it as a matter of fact. Which means Van's all ears...this will be a long school year. YES YES YES WE'RE SENIORS BIOTCH!!!!!!!! MEANING WE'LL RUN THIS SCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!! CANNOT WAIT!!!!! OH I did I forget to mention that Layla had a typical soap opera moment? Short version, her and JR were acting like...well JR and Layla. One minute they'll be all giggles, her hand linked to his arm, then the next she'll act like she's a boy that can beat his butt. Yeah so much for her pretending she never said anything right? So anyway why does everything that's peachy keen in her universe, come to a complete halt when Layla's real boyfriend comes waltzing in the amusement park like some billy bad ass...his 'posse'...??? TO make an ugly incident beautified, Stumpy made the colossal mistake in grabbing L's arm. I don't know if I channeled a bull or what but I saw red, ready to pounce him like a cat AND prepared to shoot at will like a machinery. Not that Layla needed our help or anything, she beat a bitch. Van and I just wanted to add a little love so the three of us WHOOPED THAT TRICK...!! I wonder if he's still in the ER? Oh well I don't care. But other than that the day was greatness...Fox walked me to my door and we sat on the porch for a bit and he just started talking and I just listened to him so attentively...just the perfect moment. IT was just great. I keep saying that. Then my house phone rang from inside, which I completely ignored but the genius known as Layla Williamson came outside and gave it to me. Her time is impeccable right? He took that as a sign to go home and I answered the phone when Fox left, yeah Frank waited for an answer...idiot. Yeah we spoke if you call it that, I mean he whined and complained and I just kept yawning because I wanted to go to sleep, which infuriated him more. I know I'll deal with him tomorrow so I'll worry about that never. The girls are here in my house snoring so loudly it prevented me from dreaming about Fox. Don't get it twisted or anything I still think Fox Crane is a jackass...but I'm not blind. :)
Until next time,
Whit.
