Ok, I finally finished re-writing some things and now I'm posting the fic here. I hope you all enjoy it :) Thanks a million for the banner Nuri! I love it!


Our story begins with believe it or not, Tabitha Lennox. She and Endora were discussing how close Kay and Fox were getting. "Although I'm all for misery, it seems as if our good friend Kay has really moved on from Miguel and found happiness." Endora laughed and clapped being that the toddler was the one partially responsible for their hooking up. "Let's take a look and see what their future holds" Tabitha said as she held Endora and looked into the bowl. An image of Fox came up and he was holding a baby wrapped in a blanket. "Oh my, a child. Unless the big guy upstairs plans on granting a miracle, that's not Kay's child because she can't have anymore children."

"So you're saying that after all that jerk has done to you and Maria, if he came back to town you'd give him a chance" Fox yelled at Kay in the Bennett household. She didn’t say anything. "I can't believe you!" "Wait a minute; you can not lash out at me when you still have feelings for Whitney after all she's done to you!" "How many times do I have to tell you, I'm with you now." "Fox, I saw what happened at the pier." Two days before, he and Whitney shared a moment which nearly led to a kiss. "I was caught up in the moment, that's all." "Sure fooled me." "Kay listen, I...” "I don't want to hear it. Just go Fox. Leave!" Fox sighed, grabbed his coat, and left. "I've got to find a way to make this up to her" he said to himself outside.

"I miss you too Chad" Whitney said to him over the phone. He was away on a business trip and had been gone for a month. "I'll be home before you know it. How's my little guy doing?" "He's fine. He's taking a nap right now" she was referring to Miles. "Well when he wakes up, tell him daddy's got a surprise for him when I get back." "You spoil him you know that?" "Yeah, I know. That's what I'm supposed to do. Hopefully, we'll give him a little brother or sister to spoil as well." Whitney laughed to avoid that conversation with him. "We'll see. I've got to go baby. I'm taking Miles to my dad's house for a little while." They said their goodbyes and ended the conversation. She got their two year old son ready and dropped him off at her dad's not before deciding to visit Theresa at the Crane mansion.

"Yeah, that would be nice. I don't care how much it costs; just charge it to the Crane account. Thanks" Fox ended his phone call in the pool house. There was a knock at the door. "Just a second" he called out. He put the catalog down and answered the door. "Whitney, what are you doing here?" "Is Theresa here? One of the maids at the mansion said she was." "No, actually she left about ten minutes ago." "Ok. Thanks. See you later" she started to leave. "Wait a second, Whitney. I could use your help. It'll only take a minute." "Sure, what's up?" "Ok, I know I'm not exactly the best guy when it comes to picking out women's clothing but I'm trying here. I will admit I need some help." "Something for Kay?" "Yeah. A dress. As you can see, I'm looking through every catalog on the east coast" he pointed to the stack on the table. "And you need my help?" "Yeah." "Fox, I don't know about that." "Come on, why not? I won't bite or anything. At least I don't think I will." "Ok, fine" she walked inside and over to the sofa. Fox sat next to her. "So, what's her style?" He wasn't really paying attention to what she was saying. Old feelings began to rush back. Those Roman candles had returned. He had been fighting it for months but being alone with her just made them that much stronger. "Fox, I said what's her style?" "Whose?" "Kay's!" "Right. How about that one? I could see her in that." "Oh, that's gorgeous. I don't know much about her but I'm sure she'd love it....You ok? You seem kind of detached." "Umm, yeah. I'm fine...I really don't know how to describe her style. I'd just like to find a pretty dress and that one seems pretty enough." "Just like a guy to say that" she laughed. Fox smiled. "You know, you're beautiful when you laugh." She stopped laughing and looked at him. "What?" "Not just when you laugh. You're beautiful all of the time." There was an awkward silence for a few seconds. Slowly, Fox went in for the kiss. Maybe it was the shock, but for some reason Whitney didn't stop him. Ok, it wasn't the shock. She realized what was happening and pulled back. That was followed by a slap. "How can you kiss me when you have a girlfriend?!?" Fox held his jaw and grinned. "I even missed those." "You know what, I'm leaving" she got up. Fox got up and stopped her by bringing her in for another kiss. This time, she didn't slap him. Instead, he pulled back. "If it's so wrong, why did you return the favor?" "I can't do this. Not now, ok? Not when everything is finally in place." "It's not in place Whitney. We never got a chance. I still love you and I know you love me despite everything we've been through." "Why are you doing this to me now? I'm with Chad. Why can't you accept that?" "Because my heart won't let me. I tried to move on with Kay but it's not the same and I know you're with Chad because you feel obligated to Miles. I don't love Kay the way I love you and you don't love Chad the way you love me. We have something Whitney that I think we should give a chance." She looked at him without saying a word. He slowly got closer to her. "I love you Whitney. I always have and I always will." He got within inches of her face. "I want us to give our love a second chance." "How can you..." "Shh...” he put his index finger to her mouth. Again, he kissed her. She didn't push him away or stop it. The kiss got so heated; he picked her up and took her to his bedroom.

"I can't believe him" Tabitha watched in her bowl. "Kay is going to be heartbroken. I'm usually always up for a little heartbreak, but this is different." Little Endora had her eyes covered with her hands. Tabitha changed the channel. "That's too much for your young eyes to see." Later that night, Kay came over to Tab's to visit. "Poor Fox, I was kind of harsh. Knowing him, he's planning a romantic evening to make up for our argument." "You have no idea" Tabitha thought. "Let's look in the bowl and see what he's up to. I can't wait too long for the surprise." "No, you can wait" Tabitha stopped her. "Why?" "Because...umm don't you want to really be surprised? I'm sure the fellow has been planning for a while now and it would just be ruined if you knew." "He won't know I know. Are you hiding something Tab?" "No, uhh I just." "Wait a minute; did he put you up to this? Are you in on the plan too?" Tabitha laughed nervously. "Yes, that's it." "Aww, isn't he sweet. I'm just going to take a peak though." Tabitha couldn't stop her; Kay was already at the bowl. Tabitha slowly walked over. "Now Kay, I'm sure there's an explanation for this, you see...” "Aww, he's asleep. The poor guy's probably tired from all of the work he did planning." Tab looked and saw that the bowl only showed Fox's face as he slept. "Whoo, that was close" she thought. She covered the bowl to make sure Kay saw no more. "Well dear, now you see what he's up to. It's terribly late, why don't you go to bed?" "Yeah, you're right. I'll need all the rest I can for tomorrow."

"I love you Whitney" Fox said with his arms around her in his bed. They were both on their way to sleep. "I love you too." Neither knew that one night would change their lives forever.

"Oh my God, what have I done" Whitney frantically got out of bed the next morning. Fox came in the room with a tray in hand. "I'm not exactly Chef Boyardee but milk and cereal never fails....What's wrong?" "Last night was a mistake Fox" she got her clothes off of the floor. "Which round last night?" "You know what I mean! All of them! I can't believe we did that. You're with Kay and I'm with...." "Someone you shouldn't be with just like I'm with someone I shouldn't be with." "What we did was wrong!" "But it felt so right. We can't ignore our feelings for one another." "Yes we can. I cannot do this to my family! I'm supposed to marry Chad, ok? What you and I have...." "Is beautiful and last night proved it." "No! Ok? No! Last night was wrong! We hurt the people we care about." "Ok, you're upset now but last night you were singing a different tune." "What are you trying to say?" "What I'm saying is, I wasn't alone in my bed last night and I sure as hell didn't force you to do anything. You love me and I love you. How is love wrong?" "Because we're with other people! I have to go but you have to promise that no one will ever find out about last night." "I can't promise anything Whitney. Everything happens for a reason and last night proved that we belong together." "How can you say that? We cheated on people we love! How did last night prove anything?" "Because despite everything that has happened with us, we still love one another. I don't know about you but I've heard that love concurs all." "Stop it! Next thing you know you'll start using fate like Theresa." "Maybe it is fate. Maybe we're fated." "I have to go. Not a word about this again Fox" she finally finished getting dressed and left. "

"It's beautiful Fox" Kay squealed when she saw the dress he bought her. "You deserve it." She tried to kiss him but he pulled back. "Why don't you go try it on?" "Yeah, of course" she tried to shake off his obvious rejection and went upstairs. Guilt hit him like a ton of bricks. She was wearing the dress Whitney helped him pick out before their affair. Tabitha sat nearby with Endora, giving him a glare. "What did I do" he asked, noticing her look. "Oh nothing. I'm just shocked that for once a man picked out such a beautiful dress with no help whatsoever." "Yeah, I guess I have skills." "I bet you do." Kay came down the stairs in the dress. "So, how do I look?" "Great. It's perfect" Fox replied. "Of course it is. My perfect man picked it out" she hugged him. "Endora, what we saw in the bowl is starting to make sense now" Tabitha whispered. "Last night" Endora asked in thought although Tabitha could hear it. "No. Before that. Fox holding a baby. If it wasn't a trick from the boys in the basement, there's a big surprise on its way courtesy of the stork himself." "Now who helped you pick this out" Kay asked Fox. "Nobody" he replied quickly. "Yeah right, well remind me to thank Fancy or Theresa for their help. I love it." She hugged Fox again. "What have I done" he thought.

"Where were you last night" T.C asked Whitney when she came to pick up Miles. "I was doing some cleaning around the apartment and before I knew it, I was asleep. I'm sorry daddy." "It's ok sweetheart. I had no problem with Miles spending the night. Next time though, give me a heads up." "Sure no problem." She picked her son up, got his things and left. She felt bad lying to her father but no one could know about her fling with Fox. Ever.

Whitney tried her best to avoid Fox and he did his best to run into her. It had been two months since their night together. She was leaving the Book Cafe' when he saw her from down the sidewalk. "Whitney! We have to talk" he said as he caught up with her. "Great, just great" she mumbled. "Hey." "Fox, I'm busy right now. Can it wait?" "No. We can't avoid our feelings for one another." "Yes we can. What we did was a mistake. A big mistake." "No it wasn't. It meant something to me and I know it meant something to you." "Would you stop assuming things? Please?" "I don't have to assume. I know it. That's why you're avoiding me because you don't want to face the truth." "I have things to do. Chad is coming home tomorrow and I'm throwing him a party." "Ok, cool. I'll see you there." "You wouldn't." "Yes I would and I will. Plus, I think he should know about us." "If you cared about me in any way, you would not show up and you most certainly would not tell him." "That's why I would show up Whitney, because I do care. I care enough to say it's time for you to follow your heart and be with me. So, since you're afraid to take the next step, I'll do it for both of us." "Riiight. Says the person who's still with Kay. You're full of it Fox."
To her dismay, he showed up at the party anyway. He didn't say anything about their night together. He just wanted to talk to her. "Where's Whitney" he asked Eve. "She's in the restroom right now. She wasn't feeling too good. I think she caught something." "I know what you're up to Fox" Julian added. "What are you talking about father?" "Look son, Whitney is happy with Chad. You have Kay, let's leave it at that. She's been through enough so for her to find happiness finally is a wonderful thing. I know you still have feelings for her but you let it be known a while ago that you didn't want anything to do with her." Julian was referring to how Fox lashed out when he found out Miles was not his son. "I just want to talk, ok. You don't know anything father so butt out." Fox left the party and went home.
"Are you ok" Eve said when Whitney came out the restroom. "Yeah, I'm fine." "Are you sure honey?" "Yes mom, I'm sure." Chad came over. "How are you feeling baby? Would you like some tea?" "No, I'm fine." It was hard for her to look at him and not think about what she did with Fox. "You're sure? Something seems to be bothering you." "For the last time, yes I'm sure! If it will shut everyone up, I'll make a doctor's appointment tomorrow!" They looked at her without saying a word. Theresa came over and saved the day. "Whit, let's talk for a second." Theresa pulled her friend into the other room. "You've been kind of edgy for the past few days Whit. What's wrong?" "Theresa, I messed up. I hurt Chad in the worse way possible." "What happened?" "I slept with Fox" she said lowly. "Oh my God.....I was wondering what took you so long!" "What?!?" "Whit, you love Fox. Admit it. I don't know why you're lying to yourself." "Theresa, I cheated on my fiancé'. Does this not seem wrong to you?" "I'm not saying the circumstances are right but fate has a strange way of doing things." "Oh God. That word. Fate has nothing to do with this Theresa." "Yes it does. How did you end up alone with Fox anyway?" "I was going to the mansion to visit you and the maid said that you were at the pool house. You were gone when I got there." "See, it was fate. It just so happens I had to go check on Jane because her nanny called my cell saying Gwen couldn't get her to go to sleep. It was fate that I was gone so you and Fox could be alone." "So fate wanted us to cheat on the people we're with? That makes no sense." "It doesn't have to make sense to be fate." "If you say so" Whitney said as she looked through her purse. "What are you looking for?" "Found it" she took out the chocolate bar and started eating it quickly. Theresa smiled. "What are you smiling about?" "Oh my God. It makes sense now. The glow, the cravings, the mysterious illness. Whit, you're..." "Whoa! Stop right there. That's impossible." "How so?" "First of all, I'm on the pill religiously. Second, Chad and I use protection." "Did you and Fox use protection?" "Don't even say that. I don't want to think about that." "Fate has a strange way of doing things my friend."

A month later, Whitney was at the doctor's office for her appointment. The doctor had been booked and that was the earliest appointment she could get. After explaining her symptoms to him, the doctor ran a series of tests. Now, she was nervously waiting to hear the results. The doctor came into the room with a smile on his face. "That's a good sign, I hope" she thought. He sat across from her with the papers in his hand. "Ms. Russell, I have good news. You and your fiancé' will be happy to know that you're pregnant." "What?!? Are you sure?" "Yes ma'am. Congratulations." "That's impossible. I'm on the pill and we're safe." "Maybe you missed a pill and protection is not a 100% guarantee. There's no doubt you're pregnant though." "Wow, another baby" she smiled at the thought.
She imagined being at the park with Chad, Miles, and their baby girl. She knew it was a girl already. "How's my beautiful wife and my princess" Chad said as he held Miles and sat on the bench next to Whitney. "We're fine. Just watching you two play football." "This is great. You, me, and our two beautiful children. I don't think life could be any more perfect."
Whitney snapped out of her day dream when the doctor said, "That's right. In six months a bundle of joy will be in your life." "Six months? I thought it would be sooner than that or later." "No ma'am. You're only three months pregnant." "That doesn't make any sense. Three months ago" she stopped herself and thought back. Chad was out of town and she slept with Fox. "I want to see you back here in 4 weeks for a check up, ok? I'll have my secretary make an appointment for you to see the o.b.g.y.n." "Huh? Oh yeah, thank you doctor." The doctor left the room. "This can not be happening. There must be a mistake. There's no way Chad is the father....I'm having Fox's baby."
"Hi, is Dr. Brown here" Fox asked a nurse at the front desk. "Fox Crane? Long time no see" Whitney's doctor, Alex Brown, greeted. "Yeah. Welcome to Harmony. Who would have thought back in boarding school that you'd turn out to be an OBGYN?" "What's that suppose to mean" Alex laughed. "Oh nothing except you were a big goof off in school." "Yeah, well things change. Thanks for helping me get the interview for this job." "No problem. You ready to go to lunch?" "Yeah. I have to put some papers in my office and I'll be ready to go." Alex's beeper went off. "Oh dang. Look, I've got to see about this right quick. Why don't you go wait in my office? Take these with you" Alex handed him the folders. "Sure, no problem."
"What am I going to do? There's no doubt I'm keeping the baby but how will I tell Chad? This baby is going to hurt so many people" Whitney said to herself in the examining room. She got her purse and started to leave, missing Fox by seconds. She took out her cell phone and called Theresa. "Could you meet me at the Book Cafe? I need to talk to someone."
Fox was putting the folders on Alex's desk when the office telephone rang. "Dr. Brown's office....No, he's not here right now..." Fox looked at the folders on the desk and saw one labeled "Russell, Whitney." "Yeah, I'll tell him you called. Bye" he ended the call and picked the folder up. He saw the test results on the front page. "Oh my God...She's pregnant." "Sorry it took me so long dude" Alex came into the office. Fox quickly put the folder down. "It's ok man. You ready to go to lunch?" "About that. I'm going to have to take a rain check. Something came up." "Oh ok. It's cool. We can catch up another time." "You alright man?" "Yeah. Just got an answer I needed. That's all" he left the office heartbroken. He figured the baby was Chad's. Fox went to his car and sat there for a minute. "Well God, I guess you're trying to tell me something huh? Whitney and I don't belong together. She's having another baby by Chad....You know, you could have found a way to tell me besides this. So, you get your wish. I'm done. I'll accept that she's with Chad and not me once and for all."
"Oh my God! That's wonderful Whit" Theresa hugged her friend after hearing the news. "Yeah it is but there's a problem Theresa." "What?" "Chad's not the father. Fox is." "Wow. You're sure?" "The doctor said I'm three months pregnant. Three months ago, Chad was out of town and had been for a month. That's when I slept with Fox." "Wow...He's going to be so excited Whit." "He may be the only one. Now I don't have a choice but to tell Chad what happened." "I told you fate...." "Please, not fate. Not now." "It's pretty obvious isn't it? Aww, think about it. If it's a girl, Jane will have a new playmate. They'll probably be best friends like us. See, it is fate because I left to check on her and that left you and Fox alone." "I really wish you would put that word to rest." "Nope because it works." "I'm going for a walk. I don't want to hear about fate or anything else right now. I have some serious thinking to do."

Fox stood at the pier looking out at the water. "I love you so much but I keep remembering how you hurt me" he said to himself as he looked at a picture he kept of Whitney. "I know what we did was wrong but it felt so right. I hate the fact that I hurt Kay but I just had to have you." He sighed and shook his head. "You have to stop this Fox. She lied to you about your son and now she's pregnant by Chad again. You can't set yourself up for heartache." Whitney was on her way home when she saw him. She didn't hear what he had said. "Fox, we need to talk." He turned around. "Hey, what's up? How's my son? Oops my bad, he's not my son." "You're still bringing that up?" "It's kind of hard to forget you know." "I'm sorry Fox. I'm sorry for hurting you the way I did. No matter how much I apologize, it's never good enough. What do I have to do to get you to stop punishing me for this?" "You know what would make me stop? If I could have my son back, that's what. But that's impossible because he's not my son." Whitney saw it as the perfect opportunity to tell him the news. "What if I gave you a child of your own Fox?" "What?" "I'm pregnant." "Well congratulations, I'm pretty sure Chad will want to keep this baby as well." He turned his back towards her. "No, you don't understand Fox. I'm 3 months pregnant. There's no way Chad is the father because he was out of town, remember?" She walked over to him as he thought to 3 months back. Whitney gently took his hand and placed it on her stomach. "We're having a child together Fox."
A smiled crept up on his face. "Wow, are you sure?" "Yes" she smiled. Fox brought her into a hug. "I'm going to be a daddy." He kissed her forehead. "You just don’t know how happy you've made me. You're positive you're 3 months into it?" "Yes, the doctor said he's 100% positive." "I'm going to be a daddy. Wait until everyone finds...” He stopped himself. "Oh no, how am I going to tell Kay? We don't have a choice now." "I know. That's the only bad part about this. I thought you were going to be mad but...." "Mad? Are you kidding? I'm going to be a dad. It's just there are other people who won't be as happy about this as us." "I have no idea how I'm going to tell Chad. He's going to be furious." Fox held her hand. "Don't worry; he won't hurt you I promise. You're carrying my baby. If he even puts a hand on you I'll make sure it's his last." "I'm not worried about him hitting me or anything like that. It's just; he wanted us to have another baby together. This will destroy him." "That's what he gets for adopting Miles when he thought he was my son" Fox thought. "So we agree to keep this baby" Whitney asked. "Of course. You have nothing to worry about. I'm going to be here from now on." Whitney smiled at his compassion. "So when's your next appointment?" "In 4 weeks." "I'll be there." "You don't have to." "No, I insist. This is my child too and I want to be there for everything." "Ok, fine. I guess I should be going home now. It's getting late and I need to talk to Chad." Fox decided to take her home himself. For some reason, she was actually happy at the thought of having a baby with Fox. "Get some rest tonight and stop worrying. That's not good for you or the baby" he told her in the car outside of her and Chad's apartment. "Yeah, I will. Goodnight Fox." "Goodnight and goodnight to you too little one. Sweet dreams" he said with his hand on her stomach.

Whitney lay in her bed looking at the wall. Chad was not there but was on his way home. "I don't know how he's going to react. Well I do know he's going to be mad, but what will be the turn out?" She cried at the thought of their relationship being over. "How could I do this to him?" She heard the door open. "Baby, I'm home." He came into the room. "So what did the doctor say?" Her back was turned towards him. She wiped her tears away and sat up. "We have to talk." He became scared. "Is everything ok?" "Chad, I don’t know how to tell you this, but I'm pregnant." "You're pregnant?" "Yes." He hugged her and gave her a kiss. "I can't believe this. This is wonderful baby. I'll have to double up on work but we'll make it. We should look for a house. How many months will our second miracle be here?" She paused then said "In 6 months." He pulled back from the hug. "6 months? That's not possible because three months ago I wasn't even here...Whose baby is this?!?" "Chad, wait a minute. I can explain it baby." "You cheated on me! I want to know who it is!" There was silence. "It's Fox's isn't it" he asked. "Yes" she said a little above a whisper. "I can't believe you! You're engaged to marry me and you get pregnant by him! How could you do this? That’s supposed to be my baby! I'm the one who's been messing with those pills for months and now he..." "Wait a minute; you've been tampering with my birth control pills?" "That's not the point!" "Yes it is! Why would you do that?" "Because, it seemed like the only way to keep you but I guess that's not going as planned because you're having his baby!" "We can work through this Chad." "No, we can't. Get out." "What?" "You heard me? You and your little Crane bastard get out of my apartment." "You can't mean that." "Yes I do, now leave."

Fox was at Tabitha's house. "Get ready Endora. Fox is about to tell Kay about the you know what with you know who." "Is there anything we can do mom" Endora asked in thought. "I'm afraid not dear. You see, there are some things not even we have the power to change. The arrival of a child just happens to be one of those things. Sad to say but the man upstairs is in control of that. Besides, look at the bright side. You'll have a new niece and friend." "So it's a girl?" "Yeah. You two will actually be close....I know you feel bad for Kay but there's nothing we can do but let the chips fall into place. This was supposed to happen." Kay had just put Maria to bed and was coming downstairs. "You said we needed to talk Fox, so what's up?" He rubbed his hands through his blonde hair. "Are you ok Fox?" "Yeah, yeah. It's just; I have something important to tell you. First of all, I love you Kay. No matter what, I love you." "Ok, you're scaring me. What's wrong?" "Whitney's pregnant." "Ok, what does that have to....Oh my God, how could you?!?" "I'm sorry Kay, I really am." "A baby Fox? A baby? How could you? She's going to give you something I can't." "It's not like that Kay." "Yes it is! You still love her don't you?" He didn't say anything. "I knew it!" "Ok, I'll admit it. I'm still in love with Whitney. I'm sorry but it's not anything I can shake. I didn't intend to hurt you Kay. I do have feelings for you." "I'm not the one you got pregnant." He tried to touch her arm but she jerked away then slapped him. "I don't want to ever see you again!" "You don't mean that." "The hell I don't." "Kay, please just listen." "Goodbye Fox." He gave up and decided to leave her alone, at least until she cooled off. He walked out of the house. "I guess I really screwed up this time" he said to himself as his cell phone began to ring. "Hello?" "Fox, it's me." "What's wrong Whitney?" "Chad put me out the apartment and I didn't know who else to call so." "Say no more, I'll come get you. Where are you?" "Outside of the apartment." "Ok, I'll be there in a second." He got her along with her things and took her to the pool house. "I don't want to intrude" she told him once she got settled. "It's no problem. Stay here as long as you want." "The only reason I didn't go to my dad's is because I really don't feel like hearing a lecture from him right now." "I understand. You can sleep in my bed. I'll sleep on the couch. If you need anything, let me know. I'm here to wait on you hand and foot. "You don't have to do this Fox. I'm not that far along. I can still do some things." "Yeah but you're carrying my baby. You don't have to do anything but make sure that child gets here healthy."
"Fox, I just left the pool house. Why is Whitney there" Ivy asked her son at the mansion weeks later. "She's staying with me." "I don't even want to know why. After all that girl did to you you're letting her live with you?" "Chad put her out mom and she's pregnant." "So, that's not your concern." "Yes it is. She's having my baby." "Are you serious? Fox, how did that happen?" "If you don't know by now mom, you don't need to know." "No, what I mean is, weren't you with Kay?" "Yeah. I cheated mom." Deep inside, Ivy was jumping for joy. Kay was finally out of the picture but she didn't have to do a thing. Fox's heart made the final decision. Yet, part of her was still biter with Whitney for lying to Fox about Miles. "How do you even know it's your child?" "Because the dates match up. Chad was out of town when it happened and we were together." "Please don't make the same mistake twice." "Mom, you better not say anything to Whitney. I know how you are and she's already upset about Chad. This is your grandchild she's carrying..." "I don't know that for sure! You're just going by her word." "Mom, I trust her. Why would she lie this time?" "I don't know. Just be careful, ok? I'm here for you two if you need me." "Thanks. I'm going to check on Whit. Excuse me" he went to the pool house.
"Whitney? You up" he called out. "I'm in the bathroom." He stood next the bathroom door. "You need anything?" "No but thanks. Just give me a minute." "Alright. I'm right outside so don't hesitate." "Ok." Fox went to the kitchen to make breakfast. Whitney was in the bathroom, sitting on the side of the tub. "Ok. I see you're going to be a handful already. Could you give me some slack though? I know morning sickness is normal but morning, noon, and night sickness is not my idea of fun. The doctor said it's normal but you're scaring mommy a little. I know you're saying it's my fault because I've been so upset lately. It's just, I wish the circumstances were better sweetheart. Just for you, I'm going to stop crying and most importantly, stop worrying. If I do that, would you cut me some slack? Besides, we don't want your daddy getting worried too. Did you catch that sweet pea? My heart fluttered at the thought of your father. I love him, I really do. I'm scared, that's all. Why am I scared? To tell you the truth, I really don't know. Both of us are available now. You think we should give our love a chance? Yeah, I think so too. Maybe your aunt Theresa was right. Maybe this is fate's way of putting us together. Don't tell her I said that though." "Breakfast is ready" Fox called out. "Your daddy is something else. He cooked breakfast. You and your brother are lucky to have him..." she stopped herself. "What am I saying? Chad is Miles' father. I can't believe I said that. Chad is a good father too but....You know what, I'll stop right there. Let's go get some breakfast because I'm hungry and I know you are too."
"Hey" Fox smiled as soon as he saw her. "Hey. Good morning." "Good morning to you too. As you can see, breakfast is served." "It looks good." "I wish I could take all of the credit but I don't think the chef at the mansion would appreciate that." He pulled the chair out for her to sit. "How are you feeling" he asked. "Alright I guess. The normal ups and downs of pregnancy." "I wish there was something I could do." "You already are. Fox, you've been a complete gentleman and then some." "It's nothing. That's what I'm supposed to do." "Fox, I've done a lot of thinking about what you said. Although none of this is traditional, I'd really like to work on us. It may sound as if this is happening quickly but..." "No, it's not. Some may say it's overdue, you know" he put his hand on her stomach. "Well, what do you think about it?" "Hold that thought" he got up from the table and got a pencil and pad. He wrote something down, folded the sheet of paper, and handed it to her. "What's this?" "Read it" he smiled. She unfolded the paper and read it aloud. "Would you be my girlfriend? Yes, no, or maybe." She looked up and started laughing. "Hey, you can't knock a guy for trying. It use to work all of the time." "Yes, I'll be your girlfriend." "You have to put a check by the yes then." "Fox...” "Ok, ok. Just kidding. Whoo, am I relieved you said yes. Talk about nerve wrecking." "Shut up and kiss me" she smiled. "I have no problem with that" he leaned over and gave her a sweet peck on the lips.

The smell of bacon, hash browns, biscuits, and eggs completely took over the pool house. Fox's eyes slowly opened. The aroma was enough to wake him up. His stomach growled in delight. He sat on the side of the bed, stretching as he yawned. "Good morning baby" Whitney cheerfully greeted. She sat on the bed with a full plate. "Food smells good" he reached over. She immediately smacked his hand away. "What are you doing Fox?" "I was..." "You were trying to steal my food! How dare you take food not only out of my mouth but out of our child’s?" "O...k. Then where is my plate?" "Oh I'm sorry. This is all I cooked." "You're going to eat all of that?!?" "Are you trying to call me fat? I swear I’ll cut you" she pointed her butter knife towards him. "No! You're not fat" he threw his hands up in defense. "That's what I thought. I'm just six months pregnant thanks to you." "It takes two to tango, remember?" "Whatever. Just pass me the remote." "You really did cook that for yourself?" "Stop talking Fox and give me the remote. Ellen's about to come on. I swear if I miss her dancing segment...For a white chick, she has rhythm." He gave her the remote control before getting out of bed. "Can you go to the store later on? We’re out of some things" she shouted as he left the room. "This sucks. She's in there eating a hot breakfast and I'm stuck with Fruit Loops and milk" he made sure she heard him. "Actually no! We're out of milk. That's why I said you have to go to the store.....go Ellen! It's your birthday!" Fox displayed his anger through his actions as he rummaged through the kitchen cabinets looking for a coffee mug. "Can't even get a decent breakfast around here. People only think of themselves" he mumbled. "No I don't! I think about our baby who I'm carrying! Until you grow a uterus and gain another person I suggest you shut up!" He began to brew his coffee and sat at the table. The ups and downs of pregnancy. He loved every second of it even if she did drive him up the walls. Whitney wobbled into the kitchen with an empty plate. A loud burp exited her mouth. "Excuse me" she giggled. "What do you have planned today" he asked. "Mom and I are going shopping for a crib today" she rinsed her plate off at the sink. "But my mother already bought a crib. Remember?" "I don't like it though." "Then why don't you tell her?" "I did. I said it's nice but that's ok. I thought she figured it out." "What's wrong with it?" "For starters, the recall the Today show announced. Is your mother trying to kill our baby?" "She didn't know that." "Well now you do and I'll tell her later. Also, we're going to pick up a few outfits today for both Miles and the baby." "If this baby is a boy, we're screwed. All of those girl clothes." "I bought a few boy pieces just in case, but I know she's a girl." "How are you so sure?" "Trust me. You carry this kid around and you'll know too."

He gently pulled her down to sit on his lap. "I'm sorry for being so grumpy this morning. I was hungry." "So was I. That's why all of that food was for me." He smiled. It didn’t bother him. That was normal with pregnancy. Much better than the last time when she was on an emotional roller coaster. "You have some syrup on your mouth." "I do?" "Yeah. Let me get that for you." They engaged in a kiss which seemed to last for minutes. "Stop Fox. That's how we got in this predicament" she got off of his lap. "Since we’re already in this predicament, we can't get in it again." "You have to go to work and my mom will be here any minute. I'd hate to see her reaction to walking in on us bumping and grinding." "We can lock the door." "She has a key for emergencies." Fox sighed. "Alright. I'll be waiting for it later though." "And you will get it later." "We can make later now" he grinned. There was a knock at the door. "No we can't. My mom is here." Fox got up and let Eve in. "Good morning Fox." "Good morning Eve." She smiled as she walked towards Whitney. "How's my baby and her baby doing this morning?" She tried to rub Whitney's stomach, but her hand was swatted away. "How would you like it if I walked up to you and rubbed your stomach? Huh?" "Sweetheart, I was just..." "You were doing what everybody else does. It's annoying. Complete strangers rubbing my stomach and asking how far along I am. They'll be far from Harmony as soon as I kick their ass to Timbuktu." "O...k" Eve looked at Fox for guidance. "Mood swings" he replied. "No it's not! It just annoys me when people do that. Rubbing my stomach like I'm the tree trunk at the Apollo. God!" "Are you ready to go" Eve asked. "Almost. Let me freshen up and we'll be set."

"Any messages Sienna" Fox asked before going in his office at Crane Industries. "No. It's only the morning boss." "I know but some people like bothering me early. Like those new stock holders from Britain." "You have to remember, they're on a different time zone." "I know. Could you make sure that a dozen roses are hand delivered to Whitney? She'll be at Baby Boutique all day." "Are you sure?" "Trust me. Her mother is taking her shopping. World War III couldn't force her out of that store. Here's the note I want attached." "No problem boss."

Fox went into his office and sat at his desk. A long day at work wasn't his idea of fun. The pictures on his desk gave him the motivation he needed. One was of Whitney, one was a sonogram of their baby, and the other was of Miles. He was only his godson, but something in his heart said otherwise. "One day, all of this will be fixed and we'll be a family" he thought. Julian walked into his office. "Good morning Fox. Are those proposals ready?" "Yep. Fresh off of the press." "Wonderful. How's everything going?" "Pretty good. Getting ready for the baby." "That can be a challenge." "Tell me about it. I want to make sure this baby wants or needs for nothing. In order to do that, I've got to work. So if you'll excuse me father, no more chit chat. I have a job to do."

"Is there a Whitney Russell here" the clerk at the store asked. "Yeah. That's me." "Here you go. A delivery just for you" the lady handed the bouquet to her. "Aww" a bunch of women in the store said. Whitney read the note. "Not a second goes by that I don't think of you and our future. I love you. Now and forever- Your sly Fox." "Your husband must really love you. He had flowers delivered to the store." "He's not my.....Never mind. Yeah, he does." Whitney joined Eve near the cribs. "He's really trying to make me feel guilty." "Guilty? About what?" "That I'm not ready to get married. Not yet." "Why not?" "Just not right now mom, ok?" "Alright...What do you think of this crib?" "That's the one I saw in the catalog. I loved it then but had to see it in person. It's perfect." Ivy came into the store. Her eyes immediately went in their direction. "Whitney, Eve. How are you?" "Hi Ivy. We're fine. You" Eve asked. "I'm good. I was coming to the store to pick up a few things for the baby." "Aw, thanks. You shouldn't have" Whitney said as she motioned a clerk over. "Yes ma'am?" "I want to buy this crib." "Yes ma'am." "I already bought a crib" Ivy joined in. "I know, but the Today show announced a recall on it. We don't want to hurt the baby now do we?" "Did you like it in the first place?" "No. Not really, but the gesture was nice." "Why didn't you say anything?" "I did. I told you it was nice but that's ok." "You don't have to act like an ungrateful brat. I was trying to be nice. Why should I be? We don't even know if the baby is Fox's or not. Who knows who the daddy is?" Whitney slapped Ivy. "Unlike you Ivy, I know who the father of my child is. Disrespect me or my child again and you'll meet your maker." Eve gently grabbed her arm but Whit jerked away. "I'm ok mom. Really. We'll come back tomorrow to buy the crib. There's too much trash in the store right now. Let's go. I'm hungry anyway."

Fox quietly walked into the pool house. He was holding Miles. "Shhh" he whispered to the little boy. "Shhh" Miles imitated him. Whitney was asleep on the couch. "Look who I have" Fox whispered in her ear. She slowly opened her eyes. "Hey sweetheart." "Mommy" Miles reached for her. She took him from Fox and sat him on her lap. "Thanks Fox. I don't know how you managed to get him over here." "Chad and I had a talk. We're ok now." "Baby" Miles touched her stomach. "That's right. The baby is in there." "Hi baby" Miles kissed her stomach. She and Fox smiled. The baby kicked. Miles gasped. "The baby is saying hi" Whitney explained. "Hi baby" he kissed her stomach again. "My dad's having a barbeque today. It'll start in about an hour. Want to go?" "Yeah. Just let me change and we can go over there."

"I'm glad you could make it" T.C kissed Whitney's cheek as she, Fox, and Miles came in the house. "I told you we would. I'm starving." "You are? You ate on the way here" Fox reminded her. "So?" "Hey little guy" T.C reached for Miles. The toddler rested his head on Fox as he looked at his grandfather. "He's just a little tired, that's all" Fox said. "And how's the baby" T.C was about to rub Whitney's stomach but she hit his hand away. "I wish everyone would stop that! They wouldn't do it if I wasn't pregnant so why do it now?" "I know that's right" Uncle Cedric joined them. "How are you doing baby" he kissed her cheek. "I'm fine. Irritated but fine." "This child is going to be a mess and a half. I can tell already. Her personality is shining through you." "You think it’s a girl too?" "Yeah. I even picked out a name." "What is it?" "If she's a girl, which I know she is, you can name her Cedricka." "Oh heck no!" "What? What's wrong with it?" "What's not wrong with it Uncle Cedric?" "It was just a thought. I see no problems with it."

After being at T.C's for a few hours, the three of them went back to the pool house. Miles sat on the floor laughing as he and Fox played with toy trucks and cars. Fox bought them for Miles himself. "You didn't have to do that you know" Whitney said as she sat on the couch and watched. "I insist. When I was his age, I had a thing for toy cars myself." For a few minutes there, they seemed like a real family. Deep down inside, something told Fox that Miles was his son but reality said otherwise. "I hate to break up the fun guys, but it's somebody's bedtime" Whitney was about to get up but Fox stopped her. "I'll put him to bed. You relax." Fox picked Miles up. "Give your mommy a goodnight kiss." Miles did just that. "Goodnight sweetheart. Sweet dreams." Fox proceeded to the room where Miles would be sleeping. The little boy rested his head on Fox's shoulder then said "dada." Fox stopped in his tracks. His heart sank to the floor. He kissed Miles forehead. "I wish it was that simple son."

Three o'clock that morning. Whitney tapped Fox on his shoulder as he slept. "Are you in labor?" "No." "Then what is it?" "I'm hungry." "Go fix something then." "I don’t feel like it." "Neither do I." "Please? For the baby. She's hungry too." Fox groaned as he sat up. "What do you want to eat?" "Some barbeque, watermelon, and a cola." "Where am I supposed to get that from at this time of night?" "I don't know. You'll think of something." "Fine." He slowly walked to the kitchen. He looked in the fridge and found some left over baked chicken. He put barbeque sauce on it and warmed it up. He took a bowl of strawberries out and put it on the tray. Last but not least, he poured her a glass of Cola. The buzzer went off on the microwave. He took the plate out, put it on the tray, and went back to the bedroom. "Here you go" he handed it to her. She looked at the food as if it grew ears. "What is this?" "That's your food?" She picked up a piece of chicken. "This isn't barbeque." "Yes it is. The sauce is on it, see." She put the piece back down and put her finger with the sauce on it, in her mouth. "Un un. This is not it Fox. This is not what I'm craving. I want real barbeque....and what is this? Strawberries? Do you know the difference between strawberries and watermelon?" "We don't have watermelon." "But you said you would get what I wanted" she whimpered. "But..." "You said it Fox! You shouldn’t have said it if you didn't mean it" she threw a pillow at him. "Ok! Ok! I'll go get you some real barbeque and watermelon. Wherever it is, I'll go get it." "Thank you" she smiled and lay back down. He put on his robe and slippers, grabbed his car keys, and left.
He could think of only one place to get barbeque. T.C opened his front door. "They're in the kitchen." Fox went into the kitchen and got the slab of ribs T.C made just for Whitney. He knew it would happen. "Do you know where I can get watermelon from" Fox asked. "No. Sorry." "That's ok. Thanks for this." He went to his car and drove back home.

"I changed my mind" Whitney said as soon as he came in the room. "You what?" "Yeah. The baby doesn't want barbeque now. She has a craving for Chinese. Egg rolls to be exact." "Are you crazy?" "No! I'm not crazy! I'm pregnant! Thanks to you!" "I just went across town to get these ribs for you and now you want Chinese? It's three o'clock in the morning." "Actually, it's 3:30." "Ok fine. I'll go get your egg rolls and whatever else you may want!" He stormed out of the house and went to a twenty four hour convenient store. They had microwavable eggs rolls. While he was there, he stacked up on every other junk food he could think of. He got back home fifteen minutes later. Whitney was sitting in bed with an empty plate. "Those ribs were good. Daddy really can throw down." "I thought you wanted egg rolls?" "Yeah, but they were so tempting. I started and couldn't stop." He sat on the bed. "Well, I bought some of your favorites. Twinkies, cheetos, peanut butter, jelly, pickles, ice cream...I've got a whole lot of stuff in here." "Oooh. Can you make me a jelly and pickle sandwich?" "A what?" "A jelly and pickle sandwich." "That's gross." "No it's not. It's good! And it's easy to make." "Fine" he went to the kitchen with the bag. He made the sandwich and took it to her. She took one bite and spit it out. "Told you it was gross." "It wouldn't be if you had sour pickles! Why would you put sweet pickles on a pickle and jelly sandwich?" "You know what, I can't do anything right. Want to know why? I'm tired. Goodnight" he climbed in the bed. "Fox" she whined. "No. I'm done." "Just one more thing. Please?" "What is it?" Bring me the bag with all of the food. I'll sort through it myself and see what I want. It'll only take a minute." "Ok. As long as it's just a minute." He got the bag and handed it to her. She looked inside and put it down with her nose turned up. "Ew, that's too much food. It's making me sick to my stomach." Fox sighed, took the bag back to the kitchen, and went back to bed. "I love you" she smiled. "I must love you too to go through this."

Three months later. "Ok, what are you guys doing back here? And from the looks of it my goddaughter or godson is still in the oven" Theresa said as Whitney and Fox came into the mansion. It was supposed to be the baby's due date. They were just coming back from the hospital. "It seems like the baby's not ready to come yet. I'm only having mild contractions." "Yeah, and the doctor sent us home to wait until her water breaks." "When will that be?" "The doctor said anywhere from a few hours to a day or two. If the baby’s not here in two days, they're going to induce labor" Fox informed his friend.


The next two days were full of surprises. The day before the baby came; Alistair had a stroke and was hospitalized. They weren't sure if he'd make it or the effects the stroke would have on him. Of course, a lot of people were hoping the effects would be harsh and long term. This is Alistair we're talking about.

Theresa was getting ready to go to Bridgeton for a fashion expo the next day. She was all set but as soon as she tried to start her car, it wouldn’t. "Why don't you take a limo" Fox asked at the mansion. "Because, I wanted to take a nice ride. Sometimes I can clear my head by driving. I guess I have no choice now but to use a limo." "I tell you what, take my car." "What? Whitney's about to go into labor any minute now, don't you think you need your car?" "I still have my truck. I needed that extra room with all of the baby stuff I'll be hauling pretty soon. I insist on you taking my car." "Fine, I will. I promise I'll bring it back just like it is."

As she was on her way, Theresa witnessed the near fatal accident that involved Gwen and Ethan. The second driver of the accident took off and Theresa jumped out of her car to save Ethan. Ethan only had a couple of cuts and bruises but Gwen took it the hardest. When Theresa saw Gwen's injuries, she upon instinct called 911. The dispatcher told her to check if Gwen was breathing. She was not and her pulse was slow. The dispatcher told Theresa she'd have to do CPR. Theresa then thought about it. Should she let the woman who's destroyed her life live or die? If Gwen died, she could have Ethan and her child (Jane) back. For some reason, Theresa ultimately chose to save Gwen's life. She did CPR which caused Gwen to breathe again. The paramedics came and took Gwen and Ethan to the hospital with Theresa following them.

Theresa could not remember the license plate on the car that hit Ethan and Gwen. “I’d know it if I saw it" she told the police. "Calm down honey, what happened" Whitney asked over the phone. Theresa had just called and was trying to explain but was almost too nervous to do so. "Ethan and Gwen, they were in a car accident and I saw who did it and the police want a statement at the hospital" she said in a cracking voice. "Oh my God. Are you ok?" "I'm so shook up. I don’t know what to do." "It's ok. We'll be there in a few minutes ok?" Whitney explained the accident to Fox. He then asked "You sure you're up to going to the hospital? The contractions are getting closer." "Well the best place for me to be is the hospital. I'll be ok. Maybe being on my feet will make this easier." They got there as soon as they could. Theresa was sitting in the waiting room. "How's Ethan" Fox asked his mom while Whitney talked to Theresa. Ivy was already there when they arrived. "Thankfully he only sprang his wrist and fractured a few bones. It's Gwen we're not so sure about."

Meanwhile, doctors had to give Gwen some medication for the pain. Tabitha watched from her bowl. "Endora, why don't we have a little fun? Since Rebecca found out we're witches and is threatening to expose us, I say we expose her first. How you ask? A little switcherroo will do the trick. I don't even have to leave home." Tabitha began to cast the mysterious spell on Gwen. "Pain may stay, but heads will hit the roof. You my friend, will tell the truth." "What did you do" Endora asked in thought. "Gwen and her mummy are about to be exposed once and for all. She's going to confess to Ethan that she and her mother sent Ethan's paternity to the tabloid, not Theresa. Rebecca will be finished."

"You actually saved Gwen's life" Whitney asked Theresa in disbelief. "Yeah as crazy as it sounds. Now I'm wondering if I'll regret it." "You did the right thing. It would have eaten at your conscious if you let her die." "Do I even have a conscious anymore Whit? All of the things I've done, I'm starting to wonder myself." "Yeah you have one no matter what you've done." "Thanks Whit. You didn't have to come down here. With the baby on the way and all." "No, it's fine. I'm.....uh oh." "Uh oh what?" "Theresa, go get Fox." "Why? What's the matter?"

"Here mom. Nice and fresh. Hopefully, this will calm your nerves some" Fox gave Ivy a cup of coffee. "Thanks sweetheart. This night has been crazy. First, Sam and I broke up. Then, Ethan and Gwen are in a car accident. Why can't things start to look up for once?" "Fox! Come quick" Theresa yelled from the waiting room. "What's the matter? Is it the baby" he rushed over. "My water broke" Whitney said, clearly the calmest person in the room. "Oh my God. I'll go get the doctor" Ivy went to look for Eve. "I'll go call coach" Theresa ran out to call T.C. Fox knelt next to Whitney who was still sitting. "You ok?" "About as ok as I can be." He took her hand in his. "I'm here ok? Stay calm. You can do this." "Fox?" "Yeah?" "Could you please get out of my face? You're the last person I want to see right now" she gritted her teeth. "I know you're speaking through pain but I'm not going anywhere." "Great, you have to be a gentleman now. Look Fox, this is like pushing a watermelon out of an acorn. If I would have used a vibrator instead, I wouldn't be going through this pain. But nooo. You and your sperm had to infiltrate my territory! Guess what Fox. I don't appreciate it" she grabbed his collar with her hand. "Whit, you're choking me. I can't breathe." "Ugh" she let go of his collar. Eve and two nurses came into the waiting room with a wheelchair. "Why the hell did you bring that thing? Why didn't you bring the damn bed itself because this baby is ready to go" Whitney yelled. "Fox, help us get her in the wheelchair" Eve said. "Come on baby" Fox tried to help her up. She pushed him away. "I can do it myself!" She got up and sat in the wheelchair. One of the nurses pushed her to the room with Eve in tow. Within minutes, the rest of the family showed up. "Where's my daughter" T.C asked as soon as he stepped off of the elevator. "They're getting her ready for the delivery" Julian replied. "Why aren't you in there yet" Simone asked Fox. "Because Whitney said she didn't want to see me right now." "She didn't mean it I'm sure" Ivy replied. A nurse came over. "So who's going in the delivery room with the patient?" "Me" both Fox and T.C said at the same time. "She's my daughter" T.C argued. "Yeah but she's having my child. Excuse me" Fox left the room. "I'm going too" T.C said before the nurse stopped him. "I'm sorry sir, but only one person. We'll let you know how everything's going as time progresses."

"Fox!! Get your narrow behind in here" Whitney yelled. He came into the room, ready for the delivery. "What took you so long?!?" "You said..." "To hell with what I said! I need you! Come here" she motioned him over. "Yeah?" "I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier baby. I really am. Give me a kiss." Before he could kiss her, she began to scream. She quickly grabbed his hand and squeezed it for dear life. "Oh my God" his voice became high pitched as his knees buckled. He almost fell but she stopped squeezing before he could. "Holy crap" he held his red hand. "Would you shut up?!? You cannot complain about anything right now! I'm the one pushing your kid out!" "My hand! My hand" he held it with the other. "Are you sure you don't want the anesthesia" Eve asked. "I'm positive mom. That can cause complications for the baby." "You're sure" Fox asked. "Yes." "The contractions are getting closer. Honey, I need you to push when the next one comes ok?" Whitney nodded. Fox got himself together and stood by her side. "You can do this Whitney...I know you..." she grabbed his hand before he could finish. They both began to scream in pain. "Get yourself together Fox" Eve said. "I don't see you holding her hand!"

Fancy rushed into the waiting room. "Sorry I'm late. Any news yet?" "Ethan is doing fine now and Whitney's in labor" Julian informed her. All of them heard the screams from the delivery room. "What was that" Fancy asked fearfully. "That's childbirth" Theresa replied. "I heard Fox too." "I know. As I said, that's childbirth. We have to get revenge on the guys some way."

"You're doing great sweetheart. I can see the baby's head" Eve said about 45 minutes later. Fox looked and saw it too. "Umm, wow. I've seen it on TV before but...it’s so much more real up close." "Are you ok Mr. Crane" a nurse asked. It was obvious that what he saw had a mild affect on him. "Yeah, I'm ok. I'm Fox Crane. I can handle anything." "Give me two more good pushes and the baby will be here" Eve told Whitney. "I can't push anymore!" "Yes you can baby. You can do it. You've made it this far. Only two more pushes. Come on, do it for the baby" Fox coached.

"What is going on in there" T.C said in the waiting room. "We can only be patient and wait daddy" Simone replied. "Nonsense. I'm going in there" he made his way towards the delivery room. The others followed to try to stop him. "Sir, you have to wait in the waiting room" a nurse stopped him instead. "Yes. We're all anxious but we have to wait here" Julian added. Before T.C could argue, they heard the baby crying.

"It's a girl" Eve held her crying granddaughter. Tears of joy flowed from the parents eyes. "I love you" Fox kissed Whitney's cheek. "Daddy, you do the honors" the nurse said in reference to the umbilical cord. Fox cut it and the nurses took the baby to get cleaned up. "Is she ok? Is everything alright" Whitney asked. "So far so good. They're just cleaning her up" Eve replied. "You did it" Fox smiled at Whitney. "No, we did it. I couldn't have made it without you Fox." They kissed again. "Not to interrupt, but someone would like to meet her mommy and daddy" Eve said with the baby in her arms. She gently handed her to Whitney. "Hey sweetheart. We finally meet officially. I'm your mommy. Before we go any further, let's make sure of something. That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 perfect fingers and ten perfect toes...I don't think there are words to describe how much I love you. Just know that I'm always here no matter what." Fox watched with a smile as the two bonded. "There's someone else who would like to meet you. Yeah, your daddy. I can't keep you to myself." She gently handed the baby to Fox. "Hey princess. Want to know something? You're just like your old man already. How is that you ask? Because I never show up on time myself. I think it's something we can work on together. What do you think about that? Is that a good idea? Yeah, I think so too." "Fox, I want you to give her her first name." "Seriously?" "Yeah." "Wow, your mommy must really trust me if she's leaving your future in my hands. You know, a name stays with you forever. Now, if I screw this up, you'll probably hate me for the rest of your life. I think you've chosen your name already." "She has? How is that" Whitney asked. "Because, she's just like me already. My name is Nicholas so how does Nichole sound?" "I think she likes it." "Yeah, I think so too. So from now on, you are Nichole Crane....Wait, she needs a middle name." "Got any ideas?" "I had tons but for some reason I can't think of one right now....There's no female name to make from Foxworth so that is out of the question." "I think she should have her own identity in some way." "I absolutely agree." "Let's start with the A's then." "How about Amber?" "No. I knew one in school and I most definitely don't want my daughter to have that for a middle name." "Wow. That bad huh?" "Yeah.What about Alexis?" "Nah. I got beat up once by a girl named Alexis. Don't ask." "Fox Crane got beat up by a girl?" "I said don't ask" he laughed along with her. "Ok. No Alexis then." "How about Alexandria?" "No. I think I've got it. Let me see her" she reached for the baby. He handed their daughter to her. "Bare with me on this....Nichole Amaya Crane." "I like it" he smiled. "Really?" "Yeah. It fits. So you, our pretty little girl. You will be forever known as Nichole Am ayah Crane" he took Nichole's hand in his and kissed it.

"Sad to say, but we have to take a certain someone to the nursery. Mommy has to get some rest" the nurse told them. "No, I'm fine. I can rest later." "She's right Whitney, you should get some rest. It's been a long day and it might be the only good nap you'll get for a while because the next few months are going to be hectic." "No, I'll be alright. I don't want to let her out of my sight. Ever heard of baby switching?" "That won't happen, I promise. I'll take her to the nursery myself to make sure she gets there safe and sound. How about that" Fox suggested. Whitney looked at the baby who was sleeping with her mommy's pinky in her mouth. "Ok, fine. Keep an eye on her Fox." "Of course I will" he kissed her on the lips and extended his arms for the baby. "See you later sweet pea" Whitney kissed Nichole's forehead and handed her to her daddy. "I think I'll introduce her to her family while I'm at it." As he and the nurse left the room, Theresa came inside. "Say hi to your aunt Theresa Nichole" Fox showed her the baby. "Awwwww! Hi Nichole. I'm your godmother. When everything calms down, you and I will have a long talk. I've got to teach you all about fate." "No" both of the parents nearly shouted. "What's wrong with teaching her about fate?" Fox shook his head and left the room with the baby so the two friends could talk.

The family members stood outside of the nursery waiting. "Excuse me nurse, but which baby is baby Russell" Liz asked. "Ma'am, there is no baby Russell." "That's nonsense, my daughter just had a baby" T.C replied. "I think they mean where is baby Crane" Julian suggested. "Crane? Oh no. No grandchild of mine is a Crane." Fox came down the hall on his way to the nursery with the baby. "Everyone, meet Nichole Amaya Crane." They all looked at the sleeping little girl he was holding. "She's precious. In a way, she looks a lot like you did when you were a baby Fox. Well you know she's black and a girl but..." "Mom, I understand" Fox cut Ivy off. "That baby's last name will not be Crane" T.C bickered. "Yes it will. She's my daughter therefore she will have my last name whether you like it or not." "Soft voices people, we don't want to scare the baby" Liz reminded. "She's beautiful Fox" Fancy smiled. "Of course. Tell me something I didn't know." "Aww, my little brother is a daddy now." "I wouldn't be so sure about that" Chad came over with Miles. "Chad, we've discussed this already. There is no way you're the father. You were out of town." "There could be a small chance Dr. Russell and if there is I'd like to know. I deserve to know." "You know what, he's right. While you're at it Dr. Russell, let's test Miles too" Fox replied. "What? Are you crazy" Chad asked. "There's nothing crazy about it. Especially if you think there's a chance that Nichole is yours. If that's the case, there's a big chance Miles' is my son." "That little girl could be my daughter. What if she's pre-mature? She's my daughter then." "Oh come on. Listen to yourself Chad! Look at this baby. She's not premature and she's not your daughter. She's mine." "Well I want to be sure before you leave the hospital with her." "You know what, fine. Let's run the tests and let's run them on Miles' too." "No. He's my son. I'd have to give permission and I say no. That notion is crazy anyway. I already had tests done and I'm his father." "Fox, what do you want to do" Eve asked. He looked down at his daughter. "Let's run the tests. I'm positive she's mine. As a matter of fact, run five so there will be no doubts about it. Harmony doesn't always have the bests DNA tests as we already know. Sheridan and Beth anyone?" "Ok, let's get some DNA samples then."

"What if some twisted kind of way, Nichole is Chad's daughter" Fox asked Ivy. It had been 2 days since the tests were run and they were waiting on the results. "You can't think like that Fox." "If she's his daughter, he's going to take her with him and it'll be what happened with Miles all over again. She's my namesake and has my last name. What if I got attached to a baby that's not mine?" "If that's the case, be glad you found out early on and not when she's older."

Whitney was in her room at the hospital and getting her things ready to leave. "If the tests say she's Chad's baby, will you be leaving with him" Theresa asked. "She's not Chad's daughter." "What if somehow someway she is?" "That's not possible, he was out of town." "I've seen crazier things happen." "Well this won't be one of them." Fox came into the room holding some papers. "They're here." "I'll leave you two alone. See you later" Theresa left the room. Fox sat on the bed next to Whitney. "I'm scared to look Whitney. It's not that I don't trust you, because I do. It's just...” "You don't have to explain. I understand. There's nothing to worry about though." He slowly opened the first envelope. A smile came on his face. All of the papers said the exact same thing. "I'm her father." He and Whitney shared a hug and a kiss. The nurse brought the baby into the room. "Somebody's all set to go home." She gently handed the newborn to Fox. "Be careful" the nurse reminded him. "Trust me, I will. I'm holding my heart in my hands."

"Why are car seats so difficult" Fox asked as he struggled to put it in his SUV. "Take your time Fox. There's no rush" Whitney was sitting in a wheelchair and holding the baby. "I know there's no rush but I want to put this thing in right. This is our daughter's life we're talking about." "Ok. Just stop for a second and take a deep breath. I'm sure it will start to make more sense then." He did as she suggested. "You're right. It does make sense now.....Tada, we're all set." "See, I told you." "You do keep me level huh?" "Yup. Now I wonder what took daddy so long to come to that realization" she asked the baby. "Mommy has jokes now. I just wanted to make sure you were safe." "Why are there two car seats Fox?" "One's for Miles and one's for Nichole. So, when we go on outings with the kids, we're set and they're safe." "You're something else, you know that?" "I've heard it before but it sounds better coming from you. By the way, your dad said he's bringing Miles over later." "Now that, I'm scared of. I don't know if he'll accept the baby or not." "I'm sure he will. It may take time but eventually he will. In the mean time, let's go home."

They got to the pool house where they were welcomed by friends and family. "Again, congratulations guys. She's gorgeous" Theresa smiled at the baby (click here). She was one of the few guests left when the party was over. "Can you say Aunt Theresa? I'm your aunt Theresa." "She's only a few days old Theresa. Give her time" Whitney laughed. "I know, but I'm just letting her know who I am early on so she doesn't get confused after seeing all of those other people. For instance, Gwen is not related to you sweetheart which is a good thing. She's only temporarily married to your uncle Ethan and that will be changing soon. He finally saw her for what she is." "Ok Theresa, that's enough before you start giving Nichole an early lesson on fate" Fox said as he opened the front door. "Aww, do I have to go now? I want to spend some more time with my goddaughter." "She's sleeping. You can spend as much time as you want with her tomorrow" Fox replied. "Ok, fine. Bye Nichole. Remind your daddy who's in charge." Theresa finally left leaving only Whitney and Fox with the baby. "I'm relieved all of those people are gone. It was irking my nerves to have all of them breathing on her" Whitney said as she put the baby in the bassinet close by. "They were all friends and family" Fox replied. "I know but it still irked my nerves. That and everybody wanting to hold her. Who knows what some of them have?" Fox laughed. "Just like a mother." "I'm glad that Miles is accepting Nichole well. He seemed like he didn't want to leave." "Check this out" he sat next to her with his digital camera in hand. He showed her the picture he took of Miles holding Nichole. Both of them were sleeping. "Aww, that is too precious for words. I want that picture for my wallet and for a frame." "I'll take care of that tomorrow. For now, you get some rest while you can." "You should too." "I can't right now. Craig called and said I need to stop by the office and sign some papers. Once that's done no more interruptions for the next eight weeks. Just me and my two favorite girls. I'll be back in about 30 minutes." "Do you have to go?" "Are you scared to be here alone with the baby?" "Yes. She's so tiny. What if I do something wrong?" "You'll be fine, you've done this before." "No I didn't, remember?" "Well, I'm sure she'll sleep the entire time I'm gone. There's nothing to worry about. You'll be fine."

Nichole's crying woke Whitney up from her nap. Fox had only been gone 15 minutes at most. Whitney got out of bed and went to the bassinet. "Shhh, its ok sweetheart. Mommy's here." She slowly took the baby out of the bassinet and sat on the couch. "Is that cap making you cranky? Let's get it off right now" she took the pink cap that the hospital put on the baby off. That seemed to calm her down. "I guess that's the motherly instinct thing mom was talking about. I knew what was wrong with you automatically." Nic became settled as her mother gently rubbed her back. "It's hard to believe you're here. When I was a little girl, I'd always dream about what it would be like to have a daughter of my own and now I do." She shifted the baby to a cradling position. Nichole was fully awake now and looking up at her with her big brown eyes. "You're going to be a heartbreaker with those eyes. All of the little boys in Harmony will be falling in love with them. I don't think daddy will like that too much." Nichole smiled. "Is that a smile just for mommy? Yeah.....We have so much to look forward to in the future. Your first words, your first steps, first day of school.....Oh God, high school. I know there will be times where you will hate me, I know that already. I was a teenager once myself. I'll love you anyway. Through all of our disagreements. Just remember that mommy always has your best interest at heart even if you don't agree with my decisions."

Fox came into the pool house and smiled when he saw them. "Hey, I see you two are awake." "Yeah. She was a little cranky but she's fine now." He sat next to them and gently rubbed the baby's head. "She's even better than I expected." "She has your smile." "Really? Do you have daddy's smile" he asked Nichole. She smiled again. "Wow, she does. She has your eyes." "I think she has your eyes." "Nope, those are clearly yours simply because I get caught up in their beauty." "Don't start something you can't finish." "Who said I couldn't finish?" They kissed and the baby began to get cranky again. "Hey kiddo, remember. That's how you got here" Fox replied.

People say that all newborn babies do is eat, sleep, and make dirty diapers. That held true to Nichole. She woke up in the middle of the night, crying. Whitney was about to get up but Fox stopped her. "I've got it. You go back to sleep." "You sure?" "Yeah. If her head does a 360, I'll let you know." He kissed her cheek and got out of bed. He picked the baby out of the bassinet. "What's wrong Nic Nac? I know you're not hungry because you ate 30 minutes ago. Do you need a diaper change?" He put her on the changing table. "Ok, I can handle this. Calm down, everything is under control." He began to do the diaper change. "One day, I'm going to take you, your mommy, and your brother to a basketball game. That would be fun huh? I know you're saying daddy, I don't know where my nose is let alone anything about basketball. I'm going to tell you all about it. Once upon a time, there was this soldier named Michael Jordan. He had an army named the Bulls. One day, the Bulls went to war with an army named the Utah Jazz. They thought they were big and bad and could steal the Bulls title away. So, they played for it. It was the last game of the finals in Utah. The Jazz were up by two points and the chief of the Bulls, Phil Jackson who later became chief of another mighty army, the Lakers, said MJ what are we going to do. Michael wasn't worried although the odds were against him. So, the Jazz had the ball and there were 30 seconds left. The clock starts. Scotty Pippen manages to get the ball from Utah and he threw it to Mike. The crowd boo'd. They threw chairs, trash, and everything else because they knew they were about to lose." Nichole's attention was fully on her father as he told the story. Fox had the dirty diaper in his hand as if it was a basketball. "So, they're coming at Mike from all directions. It was millions of them. He runs down the court, avoiding people left and right but managing to keep the ball. Only seconds were left. None of the Bulls were open to make the shot. He knew it was all up to him. Now, a 2 pointer would tie the game and send them to overtime. A three pointer would mean game over. If he missed, they lost. Missing was not an option. So he shoots the three" Fox threw the diaper into the diaper pail. "The crowd goes wild but not in a good way because this was Utah and the Bulls won. Michael won the title for the Bulls, was named MVP, and still managed to get home for dinner. The end." Nichole laughed. "See, I knew you'd like my story" he started to put on a clean diaper. "You want to know something? If every lady in the world looked at me the way you do, I wouldn't feel as lucky as I do now. Who would have ever thought that an icky boy like me would have such a pretty little girl? I credit that to your mommy. See her over there" he picked the now clean Nic up. "She's beautiful huh? You're beautiful just like her. Your mom is a wonderful person. Beautiful inside and out. I couldn't have asked for a better mommy for you. She loves you and your brother to pieces. She'll do anything for you and so will I." Fox placed Nichole back in her bassinet and stood there with a smile. "Now, you're clean and ready to return to dream land. I hope I will measure up to what you dream about. I'm going to try my best Nic Nac. In the meantime, sweet dreams. I love you." Nichole stretched and yawned--she was about to go to sleep. "And remember princess, your dreams can come true because you are a dream come true."

The next day was exactly what the parents wanted, just them and their kids. That was up until an unexpected visitor came. "Dylan? What are you doing here" Fox let him in. "I told you I'd see you soon. What did you think that meant? Congratulations dude" Dylan gave Fox a manly hug. "Thanks. I'm just surprised to see you." "I know you missed me. So, I'd like to meet Whitney since she's all you talk about. Well her and the kids." "She's feeding the baby now and Miles is taking a nap." "I can't believe this. Fox, a family man" Dylan sat on the sofa. "One day, you will be one too." "Slim chance but I do like the idea of little Dylan's and Dylanette's running around." "Dylanette? Please don't." "You named your daughter after you. Where is the little rugrat anyway? I bet she's a stinker like her dear old dad." Whitney came into the room with the baby. "Whit, I'd like you to meet Dylan. Dylan, this is Whitney." "Hi. Nice to finally meet you" she smiled friendly. "Same here. Is that my goddaughter?" Whitney gently handed the baby to him. Immediately, Dylan fell in love. "Aww! Look at the baby! You're a pretty baby aren't you? Yeahhh. I'm your Uncle Dylan. Can you say Uncle Dylan? You're cute as a button, yes you are. Who's the pretty baby? It's you, yes it is" he said in baby talk. Fox laughed because the supposed "bad boy" was being bubbly over a baby. "As your godfather, I have two rules. Number one, you can't date until you're 50 and number two, give your daddy hell."

The next 4 weeks took a lot of adjustments for the basically new parents. Since Whitney put Miles up for adoption when he was first born, being a parent to a new born 24/7 was practically new. Everyday was filled with diapers and bottles. The baby slept at the craziest times meaning she was awake at even crazier times. Fox woke up and looked at the clock. It read 4:00 a.m. He noticed Whitney was not in the bed. He sat up and saw her sitting on the couch holding the baby. He joined them. "Everything ok" he asked. "Yeah. She's not sleepy so I decided to sit up for a while that's all." He paused then asked, “What do you think she's going to be when she grows up?" "Whatever she wants to be" she yawned. "How long have you been up?" "The past hour and a half. The baby was hungry so I nursed her then she needed a diaper change and now she's not sleepy." "You could have woke me up to help." "No, that's ok. I can handle it." "From the looks of it, she just might outlast us. We seem sleepier than her. I think I have the solution to that problem though." He got the remote control and turned on his cd player. Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour" played softly. "Come on, let's dance" he got up. "What? Are you serious?" "Yeah, come on mommy" he smiled. She stood up as she held the baby. He stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her. They rocked from side to side as the song played. They lip synched the song to the baby who was looking at the both of them. Baby Nichole rested her head on her mom's shoulder which meant she was on her way to sleep. "Its working" Whitney told Fox. Within minutes, the baby was sleep. Fox kissed her head then they put her in her bassinet. They both went back to bed and were soon asleep themselves. Everything seemed to be perfect. Or was it?

"Tabitha, I want Fox back" Kay said at the Lennox home. "There's a lot I want but low and behold..." "You can help me. You can cast a spell to break Fox and Whitney up." "And why would I do that?" "Because for one, the boys in the basement aren't fond of true love and..." "Oh so you admit that those two are true love?" "That's not my point. Secondly, I'll expose to everyone that you're a witch." "How many years have you thrown that threat in my face? Especially after all I've done for you." "Please Tab? Just one tiny little spell. It doesn't have to be much. Like, you could have her call him someone else in bed or something. That's all I need." "I can't believe I'm doing this. You're on your last straw Kay." "I know, I know. Just do it."

"Music always helps her get to sleep. Especially when you sing "This Old Man" to her" Fox informed his sister Fancy as he gave her Nichole. "Ok. No problem." "If you can’t get her to stop crying, just call me." "Fox, I can handle it. You and Whitney have a nice time tonight. My niece and I will be just fine." Nichole was 7 weeks old. Fox and Whitney hadn't been out, just the two of them, since she was born. "Tonight, I'm going to teach Little Nichole here all about fashion. You can never start too early. It's time she gets introduced to Prada and Gucci." Fox shook his head. "Bye bye Nic Nac. See you later princess." Ten minutes after Fancy left with Nichole, Whitney came home from visiting with Miles. "Where's Nic" she asked. "Fancy's keeping her for the evening. We're going out." "Are you sure it's safe to leave the baby with your sister?" "Yeah. She'll be at the mansion anyways so there are plenty of people to help her."

"Now, Versace is one of the best when you're considering evening attire. Always remember, simple is better. You don't want to go over the top with a lot of accessories because it just doesn't work" Fancy told Nichole who was laying in her car seat on the bed. "With that in mind, I'm going out tomorrow with Noah. Which purse do you think is best? This one" Fancy showed it to her. Nic became cranky. "Ok, I guess not. How about this one?" Nichole laughed. "Wow, you're really good at this. I don't think you'll have any problems fashion wise when you're older. Speaking of Noah, it's been weeks since he and I had an argument. Things are getting better now. One day, maybe we'll give you some cousins to play with. How does that sound?" Nic smiled. "I knew you'd like that. Let's just hope they're as cute as you." Fancy caught an unfriendly smell. "Ok, that's not so cute. You need a diaper change" Fancy went to the doorway to see if a maid was around. "Where is everybody?" Nichole started to cry. "It's ok Nic. I'm here. Just trying to find someone to change your diaper" Fancy picked her up. Ivy was down the hall and heard Nichole crying. "What's wrong?" "She needs a diaper change." "And why aren't you changing her diaper?" "Because I'm scared to see what's in it." "And Fox asked you to baby sit?" "Yes mummy. I am her aunt you know. I can take care of a baby." "Oh really? Fancy, give me the baby. I'll change her diaper." "Thank God" Fancy gave her Nichole. "It's ok sweetums. Grandma's here. Did Fancy and her reaction scare you? It's ok. Let's get you all cleaned up." "I thought I'd never see the day where Fox would be a daddy. It seems like he and Whitney have gotten really close. They'll probably get married soon." "Let's hope so" Ivy said as she changed the dirty diaper.

Fox got out of bed and paced the room. "I can't believe this." "I'm sorry Fox." He and Whitney had a nice evening together. They went dancing and out for dinner. Once they got back to the pool house, the romance didn't stop. While they were ending their romantic evening (if you know what I mean), Whitney made the mistake of calling Fox Chad. "Fox, it was an accident." "You think?!?" "I didn't mean it." "Are you sure about that?" He laughed then said," I can see clearly now. You're not over him yet. Are you?" She didn't answer. "I knew it! This won't work between us. You have some chapters that haven't been closed in your life and I'm sorry but I can't be just another page to run back and forth to. I just can't." "I love you Fox, I really do...” "I don't want to hear it. You love me but you love him too. I'm sorry Whitney but I've been through too much with you to just settle for being the second guy in your life. I'd rather just not be the guy in your life at all." "So we're over. Just like that?" Fox sighed then said "It seems that way." "You can't give up on us this easily." "I don't have a choice. You have to make up your mind. Who do you want to be with? Him or me?"

"How was she" Fox asked Fancy at the mansion. "She was fine. She got a little cranky for a little bit but after that everything was fine. Couldn't have been better." "Well at least one of us had a good night" he said as he held the baby. "What happened?" "Whitney called me Chad." "When?!?" He gave her a look to insinuate the answer. "Oh, wow. I'm so sorry to hear that Fox." "I'll be ok. Seriously." "Did you put her out?" "No, I'm letting her stay. She has no where else to go right now and we have Nichole you know? I can't just put the mother of my child on the streets. No way." "You're nothing like the old Fox Crane I know."

There's nothing like the holiday season in Harmony. The town tradition was the lighting of the Christmas tree and everyone was present. For six month old Nic (Click Here), it was her first Christmas. "Did you put every piece of clothing she has on her" Simone asked Whitney, who was pushing the stroller. "She's a baby. I have to be extra careful. I don't want her getting sick." "God forbid she falls out of the stroller because the only thing she'll do is roll" Simone laughed. "Haha, not funny. I'd rather her roll than be sick and in the hospital. Right sweet pea?" "I'd hate to be the one to get her out of all of that." "Hey" Chad came over with Miles. "Hey sweetheart" Whitney said to her son. "O...k" Chad said, taking the cue that she was ignoring him. "I'll go get some cider. Want to come with me Miles" Simone asked. Two year old Miles nodded in agreement and put his hand in hers. "We'll be right back." Once they were alone, Chad tried to spark conversation. "You can't stay mad at me forever Whit." "Watch me." "I'm sorry ok? I thought...." "You thought you could convince me to take Nichole away from her father and you become her dad. If we're going to ever be a couple again, you have to accept the fact that you're not her father. You can't take Fox's place." "I'm not trying to." "Oh really? It sure sounded like it when you said let's run away together with the kids and never look back. No one, including Fox, ever has to find us. Why do we have to run Chad?" "Because obviously Fox still loves you and will always try to come between us. He always has and always will. Exhibit A" he pointed to the baby. "I know you're not trying to say that my daughter is a mistake?" "You said it, not me. That's supposed to be our little girl." "You know what, its best if you walk away now while you can. Seriously." "Fine. We'll talk later."


Simone and Miles came back over with the ciders. "You ok Whit?" "Yeah, I'm fine." "Good because here comes someone else." Fox was making his way towards them with an unfamiliar woman. "Hey" he greeted. "Hey. How's it going" Whitney asked. "Great. Oh, I'm sorry, how rude of me. Whitney and Simone, this is Amy. Amy, this is Whitney and her sister Simone." "Pleasure to meet you. Fox has told me so much about you" Amy smiled. "Really? He's told me nothing about you" Whit smiled and looked directly at Fox. "We haven't known each other long. Anyway, this is my main little buddy, Whitney's son Miles. And this one, is our daughter Nichole" he began to take Nic out of the stroller. "Hi Nichole. She is adorable Fox." "Of course she is" Whitney replied. Simone smirked because she could sense her sister's jealousy. "Would you like to" Fox tried to hand the baby to Amy. "I don't think that's such a good idea Fox. Who knows what kind of germs Amy may have, right Amy? I mean, we don't want the baby to get sick." "Whitney's right Fox. Nicky is young and her immune system isn't strong. I don't want to be a carrier of something and cause her to get sick." "It's Nic, not Nicky" Whitney corrected her. "Can I talk to you for a second" Fox grabbed Whitney's arm and pulled her to the side. "What?" "What's wrong with you? Why are you being so hard on Amy?" "It's nothing. I just never thought you would stoop as low as driving pass Harmony High to pick up little girls." "She's an adult. Why do you care?" "I don't want Malibu Brunette Barbie being an influence on my daughter" she took Nic's hand in hers. "Correction, our daughter. I'd never bring anyone around Nichole if I thought they would have a negative influence on her. You know that." "Maybe your judgment is cloudy because of those balloons she managed to fit in that bra." "You're jealous" Fox laughed. "No I'm not" she said, making sure she didn't look him in the eyes. Instead, she looked at the baby. "Keep telling yourself that. If it's not too much to ask, I wanted to keep the baby today." "Umm, no. I'm taking her to see Santa. I'm not about to miss that because you want to play house with Amy." "It's not even like that Whit. She's a good friend of mine. We're only hanging out although I don't have to explain anything to you." She took Nichole from his arms. "I'm taking the baby to see Santa. You and your friend are welcomed to join us." "Fine. We'll do just that. You ready to go see Santa snow bunny" he asked the baby. "Snow bunny?" "Yeah. With all of those clothes on, she looks like a snow bunny." Simone came over and handed Miles to Fox. "Daddy called. He needs reinforcement on the decorations." "Do you need me to come?" "No Whit. You spend time with your kids. See you later. By the way Fox, nice girl. Where did you meet her? Toys R Us?" The sisters laughed. "No, somewhere you need to go. The beauty shop" he touched the edge of her head. She covered it with her hat. "Shut up! I missed my appointment! I'll see you later Whitney. Bye pookies. Give Fox hell just for aunty."


They joined back up with Amy and made their way to see Santa. Theresa was nearby with Ethan, Little Ethan, and Jane. "Who's that girl with them" she asked Ethan. "An old friend of mine named Amy. I introduced them. I thought they may get along. Why?" "She's a third wheel. That would be the perfect family moment if she wasn't around." "Theresa, stop trying to play match maker for Fox and Whitney." "Why not? They need it. You're trying to play match maker with Fox and Amy which is as stupid as it gets." "No I'm not." "Daddy, I want some hot chocolate" Little Ethan said. "Coming right up buddy. I'll be right back. Theresa, leave them alone." "Ok." Ethan went to get the hot chocolate. Theresa was holding his coat. Inside was his cell phone. "Bingo." She took it out and looked through the numbers. "There we go." Amy's cell phone began to ring. "Just a second" she said to Fox before answering. "Hello........What? Are you kidding? Oh my God, I'll be there soon." "What's wrong” Fox asked. "An emergency came up. I have to go. Talk to you later Fox. Nice meeting you Whitney." "You too." Amy left in a hurry. "Well, I guess it's just the four of us" Fox said. Theresa waved to catch Whitney's attention. She looked over. Theresa showed her the cell phone and smiled.


"Look at the teddy. It's a nice teddy" one of the elves tried to calm Nichole down. She was crying hysterically on Santa's lap. "I have to get her" Whitney started but Fox held her back. "Let them try to calm her down so they can take a picture." "It's not worth it" her motherly instinct was in full blast as she went to get the baby. "It's ok princess. He won’t hurt you. Mommy's here." "What about the picture" Fox asked. "We'll worry about that later. At least we got one of them done" she was referring to Miles. "How do you do that?" "Do what?" "Calm her down so easily?" "I'm her mommy. What do you expect?" "Why don't we head home, eat some dinner, and maybe catch the Charlie Brown Christmas special? You know it's not Christmas without Charlie Brown." Whitney smiled. "Sounds good to me. These two are tuckered out." Miles was drifting off to sleep with his head on Fox's shoulder. Nichole was calm with her ear near her mother's heart, which made her even calmer. Fox pushed the stroller and the four of them headed to the pool house. "What are you smiling about" Ethan asked Theresa. "Oh nothing. Just watching a family. That's the way it should be."


"How come it seems like they're more energized now than before" Fox asked Whitney. He was bouncing Nichole on his leg and Whitney was playing with blocks with Miles. "I don't know. That's usually how it works." "This kid is like an energizer bunny." Nichole laughed as she bounced away. "Why couldn't she be like that with Santa?" "Because he's a stranger and I'm daddy." He put the baby in her bouncer. "Slow down Nic Nac. We don't want you to shoot through the ceiling" he laughed. "Did you make sure everything is set for tomorrow?" "No. I'm just going to go with the flow when it comes to our daughter's christening. Of course I made sure. Everything is fine." "Did Dylan arrive in town yet?" "Yeah, this morning. I saw him earlier." "Did you pick up Nic's christening gown?" "No. I thought you were going to do that?" "Fox! I asked you to do it earlier. The shop is closed now so unless one of us will swing by there first thing in the morning, she won't have a christening gown. And what if...." Whitney continued to rant as Fox got up and left the room. Nichole stopped bouncing and looked at her mom who was still ranting. Miles stopped playing with his blocks and looked at her as well. "And that's how the christening could be ruined! If you only would have gotten the..." she stopped talking when he came back with the gown in his hands. "Christening gown! Fox, you didn't forget." "No. How could I? You called me at least twenty times this morning alone to remind me." "I did didn't I?" "Yeah. The christening will be fine.”


Family and friends filled the church the next evening for Nichole's christening. "After today, I will officially be your god father. What do you think about that" Dylan asked as he held Nichole. "I'm starting to re-think that decision" Fox said with Miles on his lap. "It's too late now. The service will be starting in any minute." "Well Nic Nac, I guess your mom and I messed you up for life. Dylan is your godfather and Theresa is your godmother. Need I say more?" "What's that supposed to mean" Theresa asked. "Theresa, ignore him. He's just trying to be funny" Whitney explained. "The ceremony will begin in just a few minutes" Father Lonigan informed them. "I'll be right back. Excuse me" Ivy got up and left the sanctuary. She went to the doors of the church on instinct. She was just in time. "Kay, what are you doing here?" Kay was about to come in the church with baby Maria on her hip. "I came to see Fox. I thought he might like to see Maria." "And why would that be? He's with his own child right now. This is her christening. I suggest you go find Miguel because Fox is someone else's father." "I just wanted to talk to him. I know he and Whitney aren't together anymore." "They haven't been for months. Has he come to see you since? I didn't think so." "Ivy..." "No Kay. You listen. This is the last time I'm going to tell you. I will not repeat myself because you're going to listen and take heed. This is my granddaughter's christening and the last thing I'll do is let you barge in on it. Fox has moved on and I suggest you do the same. He has his own family now so there's no need for your little temporary replacement. Good bye" Ivy closed the doors of the church. Ivy wasn't happy with how Fox and Whitney broke up but Kay was not an option for Fox. No questions about it. "Mom, the ceremony is about to begin" Fancy came over. "Coming dear" Ivy fixed her hat and followed Fancy into the sanctuary.


"It was a beautiful ceremony huh" Whitney asked Fox in the reception hall. "Yeah, but a certain someone slept through the entire thing and it was her Christening." "She's fully awake now." Dylan had the baby sitting in front of him on the table. He was making punching sounds with her fists in his hands. "Oh, she got me right in the nose. Layla Ali better watch out. Nichole will be the knock out queen." "She can start by knocking you out" Ethan laughed. "Everybody, may I have your attention please" Theresa announced. "Thank you. First of all, to Fox and Whitney. I'd like to thank you for the honor of making me Nichole's godmother. I'm more than happy to. I'm going to try to be the best godmother I can be. Now secondly, I have a gift for my new goddaughter so Dylan if you don't mind." He handed the baby to her. "Whit, I don't know if you remember this but it's a try. When we were kids, we said we'd be the godmother's to each other's children. We've kept that promise so far." Nichole started to squirm. "Ok, I guess that's my cue to hurry up. As a gift of my appreciation, I'm giving little Nichole a blanket mama helped me to make. It has little keepsakes on it from our childhood. One thing in particular though, is a poem I found. It's called A Mother's love. It goes:

A mother's love is never far
When a child is in distress.
Holding so close a wounded heart
Or a real hurt limb, at best.
Tired and hungry, they come to eat
After a long time at play.
The hours have passed by so quickly.
Then comes the end of the day.
Sleepy-eyed, they prepare for bed.
Soon there's a hug and a kiss.
Knowing that mom's not far away,
They sleep in heavenly bliss


“Are you crying" Ethan asked Dylan. "No. I have allergies smart guy.....I'm going to go call my mommy" he got up from the table and left the room in a hurry. "So Whitney and Fox, I wish you, Miles, and Nichole the best. I know it will be because they have the best mommy they could pray for." A crying Whitney got up and hugged Theresa. "Wow, those allergies sure are going around" Fox wiped his own tears away.

"Fox, you won't believe this" Whitney said as she came into the pool house holding 10 month old Nichole (Click here). "What's up" he asked. "Watch this. I love you Nichole." "Wuv you" the baby repeated over and over. Fox was amazed. "She's talking." "Yeah I know. I was shocked. We were in the car and she said it." Nic could already say ‘Mama’ and ‘Dada’ but this was her first sentence. That day, Whitney was out looking for a house. She was moving out of pool house and Fox was helping buy a house of her own. "Your manager Jordan called" he informed her. "What did he say?" "Something about a touring schedule. Would you like to tell me what's going on?" She sighed then said "I'm going on the road." "For how long?" "3 weeks." "I know you don't plan on taking the baby with you." "I was hoping you'd keep her." "Of course I will. She's my daughter. I was just curious as to when you planned on telling me." "Please don't give me a hard time about this." "I won't. It's your life, you know? But don't you think Nic is too young to leave for so long?" "She'll be with you." He noticed she was getting ready to go out. "Where are you going?" "I have a gig tonight at The Blue Note." He shook his head. "What? What am I doing wrong now?" "You're always going to that club." "No I'm not." "Fine, I don't feel like arguing. Go out, have fun, sing your heart out, and get home around 5:00 in the morning while I'm being a parent." "My dream is singing. I'm going to have gigs but it won't affect me being a mother." "We'll see." What they didn't know was ‘somebody’ put Jordan on a payroll. He was to keep her busy as long as possible with her touring schedule and try to convince her to drink whenever he got a chance. The question is who would pay him to do that?


Whitney got back to the pool house around 3:30 the next morning. She did something that night she vowed not to do anymore; she had a couple of drinks. It helped to numb the pain of heart ache although she didn't get drunk. Fox was asleep and so was the baby. She walked over to her daughter's crib and brushed her fingers through Nic's curly hair. "Sweet dreams my little angel. God, I hope you never have to experience any of the things I have. Ever. I wish I could remember what it was like when life was so innocent. You have so much to look forward to in the future...Don't grow up too fast baby. I can't protect you from everything but I will try my best. Mommy will always be here, I promise."

Fox held the crying little girl in his arms. "Shh, it's ok. Don't cry baby." "Mama" the baby answered. Whitney had just left to go on tour and Nic missed her already. Babies at that age are attached to their mothers and when they're away from them for the smallest amount of time, it shows. Fox knew it was going to be a challenge for 3 weeks. He went to his SUV and put Nic in her car seat. He gave her a stuffed animal which stopped her crying. "It's going to be just me and you kid for the next 3 weeks. You think we can make it?" The baby looked at him with her innocent eyes where tears were still present. "We can do this. Mommy will be back before you know it." He got in the driver's seat and made his way to the mansion. He was interviewing a nanny for Nichole. He didn't want to resort to the same parenting skills his parents used on him, but he had no choice but to hire a nanny. Once they got to the mansion and went inside, he asked one of the maids if the woman had arrived. "No sir, not yet." He sat down with Nichole who was obviously still upset. He noticed she was looking around as if she was looking for her mom. She finally looked up at Fox as if she was asking him "Where is she?" He didn't say anything. Nic sat back and rested her head on him, tugging on his tie then finally rubbing it with one of her mini hands. The thumb of the other hand was in her mouth, with her index finger on her nose. Fox kissed the top of her head. "Three weeks is not too long Nic. Before you know it, she'll be back." He tickled her which made her laugh. The doorbell rang and the maid answered. A short woman in her mid 50's came into the mansion. "Mr. Crane" she said to Fox. He stood up holding Nichole. "Hi Mrs. Welch. How are you today?" "I'm fine Mr. Crane. Just call me Hannah. And is this little Nichole?" "Yeah." "May I" she asked reaching for the child. He handed the baby to her. They all went and took a seat in the living room. It didn't take too long for the baby to adjust to Hannah. "I think she likes you" Fox commented, she politely smiled in response. He asked Hannah all kinds of questions and even had a professional background check done. She was cleared and seemed to get along with the baby perfectly. "So when can you start?" "Whenever you need me to."

Before she left, Whitney moved out the pool house. Fox was contemplating moving into the mansion. He was out having lunch with his mom. "I saw her at the Blue Note a couple of weeks before she left and she was drinking Fox. This is not good at all." "What does it have to do with you mother?" "She calls herself the mother of my granddaughter and I do not want a drunk raising Nichole." "Just because she had a few drinks does not make her a drunk." "She may develop into one though. When will she be back?" "Tomorrow."


"Anybody here" Whitney asked as she came into the pool house. She noticed all the boxes. "Welcome back" Fox greeted her. "What's going on?" "I'm moving into the mansion. Sorry I wasn't at the airport when you got in. There was a misunderstanding with the furniture store and I was on the phone all morning." Eve, T.C, Liz, Chad, and Miles were all there when she arrived. "It's ok. Where's Nichole?" "Hannah took her to the library for this little play they have going on." "Who's Hannah?" "She's the nanny." "Nanny? Fox, we discussed this already." "What else was I suppose to do? You were gone and I had to go to work. I had no choice." While Whit went to use the restroom, Hannah came to the pool house with Nichole. Hannah couldn't stay long due to something that came up, so she left before Whitney had a chance to meet her. "Hey sweet pea" Whitney said as she took Nic from Fox's arms. "I missed you so much. Has she started walking yet?" "Almost, not quite. She can stand on her own though. I think she was waiting on you to get back before she took those first steps." "Let's see if she will today." They sat down on the floor and Fox helped Nichole stand up. "Go to mommy" he coaxed her. A little wobbly at first, Nic got her balance and took her first step slowly. The next couple of steps, she nearly ran to her mom. "That's my baby. You did it" Whitney said as she hugged Nic and kissed her cheek. Nichole giggled. "I was scared she wouldn't remember me" she acknowledged to Fox. "I made sure she saw your picture everyday so that wouldn't happen." She smiled then said "Thanks Fox. I appreciate that." He wanted to ask her something but wasn't sure how to at first. Whitney was getting some of Nic's toys and preparing to take her home. "Now don't take this the wrong way, but my mom saw you at the Blue Note before you left and she said you were drinking." "I had a couple of drinks, that's all." "Have you been having ‘a couple of drinks’ lately?" "Fox, I'm an adult. If I want to have a few drinks I can do just that. I don't have to explain anything to you." "You're taking my daughter with you, I deserve to know." "Our daughter" she corrected him. "You know how bad it got last time, why in the heck would you pick it up again?" "You wouldn't understand." "Here we go again. Don't go there. Just remember one thing; it's not all about you anymore. You have two kids who you're a mother to. Think about them instead of yourself. If it gets as bad as last time, I'll have to take you to court over Nichole. No questions about it."


"Ok, what's up with you lately" Theresa asked Whitney at the park. Miles, Jane, and Little Ethan were playing on the swings and monkey bars. Nichole was taking a nap in her mother's arms. "What are you talking about Theresa?" "The drinking for starters. Besides that, something else seems to be bothering you." "My kids deserve the world Theresa. Sometimes, I don't know how I made it without them. What do I give them? They have different fathers and I'm not with either of them. I've messed them up for ever having a perfect family. You know, a mom and dad. The whole American dream. It's like, if I marry Chad, I mess that dream up for Nichole. If I marry Fox, I mess that dream up for Miles. I don't know what to do." "So drinking is like your way to escape your problems?" "It's not like I wanted to take that route. It just happened. It was there for me when I needed it. I'd never drink around the kids though." "Whit, you have to stop now before it has an affect on them. Think about it. If I noticed something was different with you, they may have too. Remember kids are smarter than us…or so they say." "I'm going to stop Theresa. I promise." "When?" "I don't know but I will. Let's not talk about this right now."


Ivy convinced Fox to go see for himself what Whitney was up to at The Blue Note. He sat in a booth with his mom. He could see Whitney but she didn't see him. She had just gotten off of the stage and went to the bar. He watched her for the rest of the night. Before he confronted her, she was on her 4th drink. "Hey" he said as he sat next to her. "Fox, what are you doing here?" "I decided to come out for a little, you know. Where's Nichole?" "Simone's babysitting her and Miles. What do you want" she asked before ordering another drink. "Don't you think you've had enough?" "Stop trying to run my life. You're not my father, you can't tell me what to do." "I'm Nic's father and it's my job to look out for her best interest. If you're..." "Just shut up Fox! Leave me alone, please." He left the bar and went back to his booth where Ivy was waiting. "You see what I mean! She's been like that for the past couple of months." "You've been spying on her?" "Nichole is my granddaughter. If you call spying having her best interest at heart, then so be it. I'm sorry Fox, but you would be a damn fool if you turned your cheek and left your daughter's care in her hands."


He met with Ethan the next morning. They were sitting in Ethan's office and talking along with Ivy. "Going for full custody would terminate her rights" Ethan warned. "Exactly." "Whoa, wait a second. You sure you want to go that extreme Fox?" "If you saw her last night, you would understand. I don't know what's wrong with her but lately she's been different. I can't risk Nic being affected by this." "You're doing the right thing Fox" said Ivy. “Has she proven herself to be an unfit parent? That's the only way her rights will get terminated." "No, actually it's not. I have one word for you, Crane." "You wouldn't? I can't believe you would stoop so low Fox. You have done some dirty things in your life, but using your last name in a situation as sensitive as this….?" "This is my daughter we're talking about Ethan. I'll pull out all the stops for her no matter how dirty or low they may seem. Whatever it takes man." "Fine, I will file the papers in court this afternoon."


"Mama" Nic said as she tried to hand a toy to Whitney. Miles and Nic were sitting on the floor playing with building blocks. Whitney snapped out of her thoughts. She was thinking about her actions lately and how she was going towards her old ways. "What are you two building" she asked them. Three year old Miles got up and sat on his mom's lap. "What's wrong mommy? Why are you crying?" "Mommy will be ok sweetheart. Just thinking about some things. As long as I have you guys in my life, I'll be ok." The doorbell rang. "Just a second." By then, Miles had joined Nic back on the floor with the blocks. "May I help you" she asked the man at the door. "Whitney Russell?" "Yes." "I'm here to serve you with a court order." He handed the papers to her. "Court order?" She looked over the papers. "There must be a mistake. Here, I don't want them." "I'm sorry ma'am, I don't handle cases. I just give the court orders. Have a nice day" he left. "Great! Just great! Damnit Fox!"


"What’s wrong?" asked Theresa. A fuming Whitney practically shoved the papers in Theresa’s hands before pacing Pilar’s living room. "Oh my God. This must be a mistake." "No, no mistake that bastard is trying to take Nic away from me." "I’m sorry…I can’t imagine…" "Theresa you know exactly how I feel. You went through it with Ethan and Gwen over Jane and Little Ethan" Whitney said as she held Nichole. Miles, Little Ethan, and Jane were in the next room playing. "Of course I know how you feel, but Fox does have a point Whitney." "Oh so now you're on his side?" "No, I'm not on anyone's side. I'm just saying that maybe you should leave the drinking alone." "If he takes my baby away from me, what am I suppose to do then, huh?" "Maybe they won't take her." "Yes they will. Fox is a Crane and like they always do, he'll use that. Maybe I can leave town. The kids and I could use a new start somewhere else." "Honey, that'll only make you look bad to the courts." "So I'm just supposed to sit and let him take my daughter from me Theresa? Is that it?" "No. Fight Whitney. Make some changes in your life."
