So apparently, all of black America was united this fine day. Was it because of a social movement? No. Has someone finally stepped up to the plate as our next leader? Not even close? Are we marking the 86th birthday of one Dorothy Dandridge, who without her efforts, there would BE no Exquisite? Fat chance.
No no family. Today, my people united for one purposee and one purpose only. To be IN FRONT OF that TV at 4 or 5 pm, because Oprah was on. And what was this show about you ask. Well, it wasn't about the suffering of millions of African women due to civil wars. It wasn't about some neurological illnesses affecting millions of children. It wasn't about sexual abuse running rampet in this country. Oprah covers all those and more. But NO, today was about being trashtastic. Pure, unadulterated DIRT. Terry McMillian was on, to explain her struggles during her bitter divorce with her ex-husband, who happens to be gay and about 20 plus years younger than her. That in itself would be entertaining. BUT, in a move ONLY Lady O could pull off, she got her ex-husband to be on the SAME show. On the SAME couch. How absolutely delicious. How can one resist? We can't, and so we watched.
Hell, it was family hour at my house. We tapped it, we had somewhere to be at 5. But mind you, my parents are both ordained ministers. My mom was more hype about it than I was, and I was hype. So, basically, you KNOW you watched. Thoughts, feedback, comments, negative or positive. I can't wait to hear what you all have to say.
It was too much drama for me. I had to turn it off. I felt for Terry McMillan at first, but no more. She needs to STFU. Fight the man in the courts, but spare us her drama.

How did I miss this? I have read whatever I could about it but to actually see it would have been awesome. I live on stuff like this and I am sooo mad I missed out.
Oh well. I really like the direction Oprah has taken her show this season. The set is breathtaking and I love her topics. Again, she has topped herself.
