NEWS & APPEARANCES

**Eric Martsolf ("Ethan Winthrop") and his wife, Lisa, are happy to announce that they are expecting twins in March of next year.

**James Hyde ("Sam Bennett") will be signing autographs at the Stockton, CA Walmart on Saturday, October 22nd, and Heidi Mueller ("Kay Bennett") will be at the Scottsdale, AZ Walmart on Friday, November 4th from 1:00-4:00pm, as part of the People Live Tour.

**A new chapter of "Passions: Red" can be viewed online at www.passionsred.com every Monday and Thursday beginning Monday, October 24th. Over the course of ten weeks, viewers will learn more about Harmony's mystery woman with the red fingernails. All the chapters will be archived so fans can access them at any point as the story unfolds.

SHOW NOTE - Endora puts her own magic to work when she casts a spell bringing Kay (Heidi Mueller) and Fox (Justin Hartley) into her favorite fairly tale. Also featured in the classic romantic tome of love/heroics/danger/happily ever after (?) are Sam (James Hyde) as the wise King, Ivy (Kim Johnston Ulrich) as the Queen/Evil Dragon, Father Lonigan (Bruce French), Tabitha (Juliet Mills) and Endora, herself. The actors recorded the dialogue, and the animation was done by award-winning ka-chew! Productions. The fairy tale comes to life on November 11, 14 and 15.

The Hirshberg Foundation hosts The L.A. Cancer Challenge 5K/10 Walk/Run and Kiddie-K (formerly known as the Fila Cancer Challenge) and Rodney Van Johnson ("T.C. Russell") returns to show his support. Fans will have the chance to meet and greet the star. More than 2,000 men, women and children of all ages are expected to attend and participate dressed in costume in the spirit of Halloween. Silvana Arias ("Paloma Lopez-Fitzgerald"), Amelia Marshall ("Liz Sanbourne") and Eva Tamargo are among the stars who are featured in Two-Faced: Confessions of a Soap Opera Make-Up Artist (BenBella Books; On sale: November 1, 2005; $24.95), Tim Alan reveals how he gets daytime televisions loveliest leading ladies ready for the camera and how readers can do the same at home. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit Gilda's Club NYC.

NBC DAYTIME IS TIED FOR #1 IN THE WOMEN 18-49 RACE THIS SEASON AND #1 OUTRIGHT AMONG WOMEN 18-34


BURBANK, Calif. - October 20, 2005 - NBC Daytime finished #2 for the Oct. 10-14 week among daytime's key demographic of women 18-49 and was #1 in the valuable women 18-34 category. The victory among women 18-34 marks NBC Daytime's 300th consecutive week leading this demographic. The current streak of NBC wins in this category started on the week of Jan. 3-7, 2000. NBC's "Days of our Lives" and "Passions" are the #1 and #2 ranked daytime series this season among women 18-34.
"Days" (1.9 rating, 12 share among women 18-49, 2.1/13 among women 18-34) tied for #2 for the week among women 18-49. "Days" was #1 among women 18-34 for the 524th time in 531 weeks (including ties).
For the week of Oct. 10-14, "Passions" (1.2/8 among women 18-49, 1.5/9 among women 18-34) tied for #10 in the women 18-49 race and tied for #2 in the women 18-34 category.
Season to date, NBC is tied for #1 among women 18-49 and is #1 outright among women 18-34. "Days" is tied for #2 in the women 18-49 race and is #1 outright among women 18-34. "Passions" is tied for #7 among women 18-49 and #2 outright in the women 18-34 category.
According to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research for the week of Oct. 10-14, averages among women 18-49 were: ABC a 1.7 rating, 11 share; NBC, 1.6/10; CBS, 1.4/9. Women 18-34 averages for the week were: NBC, 1.8/11; ABC, 1.2/8; CBS, 1.1/7. In total viewers, averages for the week were: CBS, 4.2 million; ABC, 3.1 million; NBC, 2.6 million.
For the season, averages among women 18-49 are: NBC, 1.6/10; ABC, 1.6/11; CBS, 1.4/9. Women 18-34 averages for the season are: NBC, 1.8/12; ABC, 1.2/8; CBS, 1.1/7. In total viewers, averages for the season are: CBS, 4.1 million; ABC, 3.0 million; NBC, 2.6 million.
