They are the only sisters in daytime who don't get along for no reason.. who has NEVER had a moment of togetherness for NO REASON. My God, even fighting Kendall and Greenlee have come to a truce. Bianca and Kendall.
Now that Val has moved into Simone's position, what reason could JER possibly have for keeping these sisters apart?
They're BLACK, and they MUST exist to SUPPORT.
How the heck can Paloma make peace with Teresa after being left behind in Mexico all her life, but Simone still harbor a grudge against Whitney?
See? This is exactly why I won't watch, not even for Cathy Doe's Simone.
Why?
Because JER takes potshots at Whitney/representative of black young women when he has Simone/another representative of young black women (BOTH of whom ar MY DEMOGRAPHICS) go to Kay and APOLOGIZE to Fox about Whitney. Simone APOLOGIZES? Simone can CHEER Kay's relationship with Fox, but JER didn't see fit to allow her to react to Whitney's relationship to Fox?
Why?
Because Whitney is supposed to play supporting character to Teresa, and Simone is supposed to play supporting character to Kay. Hmmmm... Interesting.
Simone couldn't drum up understanding for Whitney giving up her child, but she could for Kay trying to KILL Charity? Whitney was a MONSTER for giving up her baby, but Kay is a SAINT who deserves "true love" for trying to repeatedly kill her cousin?
Folks, what's wrong with this portrait of the black family that JER is painting?
Now that Simone knows that the perv is supposed to be the father, would it have killed JER to give fans a follow-up scene to Simone accusing Whitney of giving up her child because she was selfish? 3 MINUTES!!! THAT'S ALL I ASK FOR!!!
uh uh.. Sorry, but this is a BAD move on JER's part. This is why this show has no effect with peope of color. JER HUMILIATES them at every turn.
*** Let me share a funny coment my friend made about Ben and J-Lo's break-up? She said, and I quote: "Doesn't J-Lo remind you of that child on Passions? The one who's always running after that white guy? He don't want her. Or maybe he does, but he won't marry her. Please. He's too scared to be permanently tied to that crazy Latina's family. Hell, look at how the brother to the little Latina is always running after that blonde."
WOW.. I never thought of it EXACTLY that way, but it does make sense.
I guess I now understand how and why it was so easy for Fox to "get over" Whitney. She's Whitney, of course. So, it makes a lot of sense.
But I digress.
MY PROBLEM IS:
Kay and Jessica can have scenes, but NOT Whitney and Simone?
Paloma and Teresa had a truce, but NOT Whitney and Simone?
Simone can take time aside to go and sit with Kay and Maria at Tabby's AND DO NOTHING, but she can't go check up on her sister at the convent? At a dumbass convent? LOL That is the finger at the black family.
And sorry, Cathy, but by the way things are looking in the future, your story will last a couple of seconds, and then it will become clear that it is really ALL about EVE.
*** This story is JER's way of keeping Simone in her place (ISOLATED AND SUPPORTING), just as he's put Whitney back in hers (ISOLATED AND SUPPORTING).. holding their pale counterparts hands as they listen to their stories of dangerous adventure and love.
The Lopez's will rise because they stick together.
The Bennette's will cope and rise because they stick together even when they have no mother.
The Cranes will forever rule because of obvious reasons.
The Russells will run around in never-ending circles, like chickens with their heads cut off because they prove the saying that "blacks just can't get along."
So, let me get this straight.
Teresa and Paloma are fine.
Kay and Jessica are fine.
BUT NOT SIMONE AND WHITNEY???
I DEFY ANYONE to tell me it's not color-dictated.
Whitney may be an incestuous wretch, but at least she has a sense of loyalty. Unfortunately, it means nothing since we can't get ONE single scene with the sisters.
I always did ask how was JER going to explain a sticky situation like Fox going with Kay, when he was almost married to Whitney (Simone's sister!!)? Well, simple, Simone will trash Whitney and be on Kay's side, of couse.
The BLACKS/RUSSELL are the one family in Harmony with NO LOYALTY.
Whitney and Simone are not sisters for no reason.
Eve and Liz are jokes of sisters.
TC and the perv might as well be related since according to the show, the perv is a Russell.
And soon, Val will be related to the Russells too.
How, you ask? By color. That's all that is necessary.
Thus, Whitney/Brook will be barred from interacting with the rest of the cast.
Thus, Simone/Cathy will be barred from interacting with the person playing her sister.
Both MUST remain props to the flourishing stories and interactions of their pale counterparts.
Why couldn't Simone share scenes with Fox when he was dating Whitney? Because she's there to serve as support for her pale counterparts.
Why is the fungus perv still attached to Whitney? Because they are there to serve support for their pale counterparts; and when Whitney was AWAY from him, who was left supporting the pale counterparts? TEVE was gone, so the show needed something to right the unbalanced.
Now that the stench of pervertney assails viewers again, ALL is "right" in Harmony. The chess pieces are all in order. Everyone can run to their respective corners and the show begins again. By the by, if one doubts Brook's/Whitney's isolation, wait and see how certain friendships in Harmony will remain without ANY discord regarding Fox/Whitney's demise.
Brook will not be allowed to have scenes with any but the perv, Val, Teresa, and her parents. JER was only trying to fill the quota with pervertney, so other relationships will simply be written around them.
RUN BROOK RUN!! BREAK YOUR CONTRACT!!! WORSE IS COMING!!!
E.
I hope you post this on SON.
I said from the beginning of finding out that Simone was 'gay', that it was the permanent ticket to obscurity for Simone. I knew that it was to shut up the chorus of ' if you need a Black couple, then put a guy w/Simone'. Simone will NEVER have any kind of meaningful story on her own now. She'll NEVER get a chance to be frontburner. And, you have to think it's part of some orchestrated 'plan'. Keep the Negroes in their 'place'.
