So I should have expected this when I told my parents there really was not anything I wanted for Christmas last year, but in my family no one really listens. Therefore, I ended up getting a personal portable DVD player for the holidays. I know some of you are probably thinking that is not bad. It really is not bad except when you take into account at the time I received the gift I did own any DVDs nor did I have the slightest clue how to use a DVD player! Several weeks have passed since Christmas and I have slowly built up my personal library of DVDs to include: Gettysburg, Gods and Generals, Miami Vice (the Colin Farrell, Jamie Fox version), American Outlaws, A Home at the End of the World, and the television series of HBO's Deadwood (season's one and two) and the first season of Prison Break.
The reason why I am writing this message is that I really do not watch that much television so I do not know what shows are good and which ones are not that good. I have never seen Deadwood of Prison Break, but from what I have heard about those two shows they would peak my interest. I am considering getting the first season of Grey's Anatomy, however I haven't seen that either, but I was told that if you like Scrubs that you would probably like Grey's Anatomy. Is there any truth to that statement?
So does anyone have any suggestions for DVD's? Movies or televisions series does not matter.
Thanks
B
awesome gift!!!
GA is greatness. Idk if its accurate to compare it to Scrubs, which is equal greatness. I suppose in the sense of them both being hosptial theme, but that's as far as simpilarities goes. One's comedy (non-stop, Scrubs) the other is drama (GA, although its funny most of the time, the major mood is drama.)
I think you'd like GA. I'm not sure if you watch Lost or not, but that seems like something you'd like also, I'm not familiar with it, so I wouldn't really know, could never get into it.
I hear 24 is amazing, although I don't watch that either. My dad watches it, well drools is more appropiate. Very intense suspense. I like that, but its so far into the show that I can't catch up. I'll be all kinds of confused.
If you're a fan of Meryl Streep, get anything she ever made, she's so damn good. A Devil Wears Prada was a masterpiece, I highly recommend it.
You, Me and Dupree was hilarity from what I've heard. I want to rent that next. I'd totally just start renting random stuff, and if you like them then purchase them. The worst thing ever is to buy a movie that you don't like.
Can't think of anything else, but if I think of something I'll let you know.
