Ivy Winthrop

Former socialite Ivy Winthrop recently had a huge secret blow up in her face. News of how she betrayed Police Chief Sam Bennett has rocked the entire town. (Sound familiar? This very tabloid busted her before for passing off Bennett's son as Julian Crane's child.) Here's the exclusive tell-all from "Poison Ivy" herself.

Ms. Winthrop, you were exposed for destroying Sam Bennett's marriage just so you could have him all to yourself. What exactly did you do?
To begin, you must understand that Sam and I were first loves. We had a passionate relationship years ago, but were torn apart by terrible circumstances. Sam ended up married to a drab dishrag of a woman, who had no recollection of the first 20 years of her life. (Her early years were probably so boring she made herself forget!) So with a little creative storytelling I, uh, helped fill in her memory... to my advantage, of course.

You hired a man, David Hastings, to pose as her husband.
Yes. The cherry on top of this "pretend-marriage" sundae was that David had a son, John, who didn't know who his mother was. So I convinced David to let John believe he was Grace's son. You see, everyone paints me as a villain, but I gave John a mother who loved him.

But it wasn't his real mother.
Details. Love is love. And David grew to love Grace. It was a win-win situation for everyone from where I'm sitting.

You must be sitting pretty far away to have such a skewed view of what happened.
Excuse me?

So David was able to convince Grace they shared a past, and she left her real husband and kids to travel with him around the world.
Correct. Grace was deeply religious, and she felt strongly about honoring her "original" marriage vows. What a sap.

And while Grace was gone, her son, Noah, become a hustling gambler and her daughter, Jessica, became a drug-addicted hooker.
I hope you're not trying to blame me for that!

How did you pull off such an elaborate scheme?
It wasn't easy. But when you love someone as much I as love Sam, you will move heaven and earth to be with them. At the time, I had a lot of power and money at my disposal. You'd be surprised what you accomplish when you combine those two things with my sense of determination. Of course, I had help along the way.

Town scuttlebutt is that Dr. Eve Russell provided some of that help.
It's true. Eve had a lot to lose and luckily for me, I knew how to exploit her.

Charming.
I never cared about being voted Miss Congeniality. I believe loving someone means doing everything you can to make them happy. And I know I can make Sam happy. If I have to step on a few toes or someone else gets hurt in the process, so be it.

I hear your relationship with Ethan, your son with Chief Bennett, has become strained because of this.
Ethan is upset with me right now, but I hope he'll come around soon. He means the world to me, and it kills me to know he's mad. I'm thankful my other son, Fox, has been so supportive.

Fox is set to marry the chief's daughter, Kay, who was responsible for exposing your secret after having kept quiet about it for years. How do you feel about your future daughter-in-law? Do you think this bombshell will impact their upcoming nuptials?
I certainly hope so! (Laughs nervously) What I meant to say is - I hope Fox doesn't let anything stand in the way of him marrying the right woman.

Interesting wording. You should be a politician.
Well, I am the daughter of a governor.

Do you believe you and Chief Bennett still have a future together after all this?
I do. I have to. I know Sam is angry with me right now, but I hope someday I can make him understand I did everything out of love. I've worked extremely hard for our happiness. I sacrificed so much in my life, and right now I have nothing to show for it. I deserve something in return, don't you think?

Not really. You're kind of warped.
You don't know what it means to love someone with not just your whole heart, but your entire being! You do what's right for them even if they don't appreciate it at the time.

It must be awfully scary to be loved by you.
Oh, go to hell.
