Y&R Recasts Lily — With the Old Lily

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS has fired Davetta Sherwood and replaced her with her predecessor, Christel Khalil. Khalil was scheduled to start taping on Sept. 28. For more, see the issue of Soap Opera Weekly on newsstands Oct. 9.

I am pissed. I could not stand the other Lily. Davetta Lily is Dru's kid.

Davetta was doing an excellent job as Lily--and she truly looks like Dru's daughter. Christel does not!! Why would they fire Davetta and replace her with her predessor? Why does Christel even want to come back?

Christel probably HAD to come back because her "movie star" career wasn't panning out. I hate that Y&R won't release some details about this. Only they are happy to have the extremely talented Christel back. Well that "extreme talent" didn't get her any gigs since she's been gone for a year. If it's storyline and Davetta wasn't interested in going that way and they let her go, then, I'm fine. Basically her choice. But if they had a deal with Christel that she had a year to decide to come back, it's so wrong for Davetta. This is one time that the recast is way more popular than the original. Davetta IS DRU'S KID. This has had me upset for days now but I'm glad it's getting the talk online and it's showing great support and love for Davetta as a person and a talent. Glad to see many think SHE IS LILY WINTERS over Christel. Nothing against Christel but Davetta was made for that role.
