Title: NFC/AFC Title games

NFC:
-Philly fans are really playing up this "curse" bullshit. What curse? You've been in four straight NFC title games and the last time a local team played for a championship was in 1999 (76ers)! So Mitch Williams blew a World Series.... big frickin' deal. The Phillies won a World Title in 1980. That's 1-9-8-0. By this logic, Pittsburgh is a "cursed" city. If you wanna' stick with just the Eagles, then you might have a case. Dragging in the whole city as "cursed" is fucking retarded. Red Sox fans are bad enough...we don't need wannabes!

- Cris Collinsworth announced "Donovan McNabb wil become only the second African-American quarterback to play in a Super Bowl", and cited Doug Williams. I guess Steve McNair wasn't black enough.

-Brian Dawkins' post-game promo, err, interview. 25% football player and 75% Road Warrior Animal. I expected him to slap McNabb in the chest and say "tell 'em, Hawk!"

-After the interviews, Terrell Owens was the first to grab the trophy. Dick.

-85% of the August 2005 "Football Previews" will pick Atlanta as the next NFC Super Bowl team. For no good reason, really.

AFC:
- Bill Belichick alwasy looks like your dad on a camping trip. Like he just wandered out of the tent at 6am and is looking for a place to whiz.

- I've said it before, but Boomer Esiason has no business being on TV. "They were running COLD WATER on Roethlisberger's hand! I look for Bill Cowher to replace him with Tommy Maddox". Boomer, knowledge of players' names does not equate to real knowledge. CBS tried to backup Boomer's claim in the second half and got announcer Jim Nantz to acknowledge the "QB controversy". They showed Tommy Maddox once...in a full parka with mittens.

-I'm not sure, but did CBS premiere a new series called "Numb3rs" after the game? It was so hard to find out about it.

-Joe Greene STILL looks scary.

ES I told you the Pats would win. Steelers are overrated, and were due for a loss. They proved they were not that good in game vs the Jets. Plus Patriots never lose. And yes thank you my Eagles finally won! Thats like our Superbowl!

This has been a satisfying year, but if my some miracle Eagles beat the Pats I will be estatic. Its all good now, cause I can at least buy an NFC Champions shirt within the next few days I hope. Now lets stop this Patriot dynasty and somehow win the Superbowl! Going to be real tough.

You also told us the Seahawks and Packers would win. And also proclaimed the Steelers beating the Jets as your "best bet". But a week later you've watched Inside the NFL and suddenly they're "overrated"? It's like getting a booger out of your nose...pick one and stick with it.

I know where you're getting the smart-ass "They won, I toldja so, neener neener" schtick from......but on me it's at least kinda' funny. Keep trying though, you may get off a good joke one of these day.

Oh..and c'mon now.. can't you guys do better than "STFU"?! Ribbing on each other's picks is like doing a mom joke. The idea is to get a funnier, more embarrasing insult than the last guy.

And Phil Simms made a real dumb comment that he agreed with coach cowher going for a fg when they were at 2 yd line. I thought it was bad idea, cause Steelers will not get many opportunites to get back there, defense could not stop pats, and they were now down 11 still needing 2 scores. Pitt really made a bad choice there.

Yes I did say they were my best bet that week vs the Jets. Pats/Colts was a tough pick, Eagles/Vikings (starters did not play in a while) and I really believed Rams could upset Falcons.

Sure I've been wrong but overall record was pretty good. 7-3 is not bad. Sorry.

Let me know your opinion on what Simms said.

I lost money on the Pittsburgh/New England game (fucking Steelers...), so I really don't want to break open my creative memory bank when annoyed.

Phil Simms is dumber than a bag of hammers, but you have to consider that earlier in the game, Cowher went for it on 4th and 1. The Stillers failed and the very next play Tom Brady bombed 'em for their first TD. Obviously, Brady probably wouldn't have bombed them for 97 yards if they failed, but the Stillers weren't exactly lighting up the scoreboard. They had scored all of ...maybe 14 points at that moment (I'm working on memory, not stats sheets), so you want to come way with at least 3. Plus an 11 point deficit requires one TD (with a 2-pt conversion), whereas a 14 pointer requires two. The Stillers defense seemed to have woken up a bit and there was about 20 minutes left, so you gotta' figure Cowher thought his defense could keep it within 11.

You're not the only one who lost money on the Stillers:
