Title: NFL 1st Round Predictions

wrestlevessel - January 3, 2005 01:27 PM (GMT)
Here is my early look at round 1 of the NFL Playoffs.

In the NFC:
Seahawks will defeat the Rams. (This one is difficult, I might change it. I Feel Seattle should finally win because they are 0-2 and due for a win. Will they really lose to the hapiless Rams 2x at home???)
Packers will defeat the Vikings. Vikings are playing like shit. They do not deserve to be the in playoffs.

AFC:
Jets will defeat the Chargers. This is the only team the Jets even have a prayer to beat. San Diego has overachieved this season. Jets win close one.
Colts will defeat Broncos. ES you know Denver is pretty good, but like last year in the playoffs the Colts with starters will destroy them.

Denver's "pretty good"?! Sheesh... C'mon now...ass-kissery wil getcha' nowhere. They're the shittiest team in the playoffs, including Minnesota. The goal wasn't to get the sixth seed in the playoffs. It was the division title and a home-field playoff game. But Pat Bowlen thanks you.

I'm just ticked the game couldn't be played Saturday at 11am MST...that way we could get it over with and I'd have the rest of the weekend to finally watch the super-duper extra long "Return of the King". Along those lines... I caught "Cold Mountain" on cable this weekend. Jake Plummer had a decent performance in it. He got to bang Nicole Kidman, too.

For the Other Games I Won't Be Watching:
I don't think Minnesota's as bad as people think. I don't Green Bay's as good, either. Thus, I'll go with the Vikings.

Rams over Seahawks.

Jets over Chargers. "LT" my ass.... the real LT wrestled!

OrangeGoblinFan - January 5, 2005 05:19 AM (GMT)
Jets better win. I got money invested in those fuckers.

wrestlevessel - January 5, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
Goblin there not that good trust me. I see them on tv every week cause them and Giants are my locals. I'm an Eagles fan, hate Giants, and I kind of like Jets.

Anyways Jets have looked really bad lately, and offensive coordinator Paul Hacket is terrible. They will need strong defense to win, which will be tough.

Chargers are beatable and I think Pennington's a heck of a QB. I remember watching him during his first significant action as a starter (think it was his second year). He was over on the sideline, pumping up his lineman, getting in their face and smacking their pads. A guy who had started all of maybe 3 games at that point. Must have been the 2002 season, cuz' I remember comparing his antics to Brian Griese...who would just sit there quietly, never engage anyone and just say "yeah".

I'd be the happiest camper in Jellystone IF the Donkies slipped by the Colts. (and they COULD do it..with Tatum Bell on the turf). In fact, in honor of Jake Plummer, I promise not to shave for a full two weeks if they win. (and yes, I have a job...so it's a mildy significant risk).

I know I'm never taking Wrestlevessel to vegas. Fuck the Chargers :)

Just so's ya' knows... I'm currently 2-0. Jets beat Chargers, as I said they would...and Rams beat Seahawks, as I said they would. Gimme that trip to Vegas, courtesy of OrangeGobAir. Fuck, why do you guys even bother reading SI, Yahoo!, ESPN and all that other crap. It's like I stated three years ago, eStragand.com is your best Non-Corporate Football Analysis Among Guys Who Don't Get Paid For It.

Hope I'm 1-1 tomorrow and don't have to shave Monday morning.

Doug Brien has now been added to Marty Schottenheimer's personal Nightmare Pantheon. In there with Jeremiah Castille, Earnest Byner, John Elway, Lin Elliot, Louie Aguiar, Elvis Grabass and countless others.

But the BIGGEST NEWS out of the playoffs-- that new Wendy's commercial. You can now get a baked potato, caesar salad or side salad with your combo meal! I've gonna' be using that next time I get the ol' #4.

As a Steeler fan, I'm sincerely hoping you won't have to shave either.

I'm currently 1-1 hoping to go 2-0 tommorow so Eagles play Rams instead of Vikings. If Vikings upset the Packers, they might upset the Eagles. Eagles can beat the Rams. Plus I think Packers have good shot at beating the overrated Falcons in Atlanta.

Steelers got the Jets in the next round.

Colts vs Patriots will be tough. But like the commercial says the Patriots never lose in our house!!!

I will be back later tonight if by some miracle Denver or Minnesota pulls the big upset. But its allready 2-0 road teams. Time for home field to step it up.

estragand - January 10, 2005 06:01 AM (GMT)
Golly...perfect 4-0 for me this weekend.

And I shaved this afternoon.

It's funny how that "we never lose in our house" Patriots commercial focuses on Corey Dillon. I think someone who has played more than 8 games in Gillette Stadium would've been a better choice.

Early Round 2 predictions:

Someone please give me point spreads.

Eagles will defeat the Vikings. (Waiting for point spread, but I'll almost definitely take Minnesota)
Rams vs Falcons. (Going to need some deep thinking. For now I'll take Rams. Could change.
Steelers will defeat beat the Jets. (Best Bet!!!)
Colts vs Patriots is another hard decesion. Go with the Patriots cause they never lose in their house!!! But with injuries, it makes you wonder.

Buccos - January 13, 2005 11:30 PM (GMT)

Steelers by 9
Falcons by 7
Eagles by 9
