What was your opinion on the gimmick of Waylon Mercy?? I thought it was pretty cool, and he had a nice theme and cool knife tatoo on forehead. So Goblin let me know what you thought of him.

I never saw the guy. This was Dan Spivey doing a "Cape Fear" type of gimmick, right? Is there a picture of him, somewhere? Did he do anything notable or feud with anyone?

He got a big countout victory over Diesel on Superstars.

Stragand, im emailing you a pic of him to estragand@aol.com

It's kind of hard to describe his character (since I don't know Cape Fear well). He would act like a calm, gentle fella from the south, although he had a weird tattoo on his forehead (fake), and always wore some queer hawaiian shirt (hides closet full of them). Then he gradually started acting more vicious, and even killed some kind of worm on his arm at the end of one of his vignettes.

In his matches, he would shake everyones hand, then suddenly snap and make scary faces. After the match, he'd be a nice guy and shake the referee's hand again.

It's an interesting gimmick, but it only was around for maybe 2 months because Spivey suffered some kind of injury (I think back problems) that forced him to retire. He didn't feud with anyone, and his only real spotlight was an opening match loss to Savio Vega at In Your House III. It wasn't a bad gimmick, but I don't remember it enough to give a positive opinion.

Egads... his picture's definitely creepy. Dig the wife-beater and the "hello...Joker" grin.

Oh, by the way... my AOL account is going away, after 8 and 1/2 years. Haven't logged on with AOL proper in a few days. Did that tonight and I saw that my account was temporarily suspended for a "Terms of Service" violation: I had typed the word "Fuck" four times in an email. Funny.

That picture reminds me of Jack Nicholson in the Shining...creepy. That's kinda lame to be ToS'ed because of saying "fuck" 4 times in 1 email, unless it was as threatening way like "I'm gonna fucking rip your mothefucking eyes out with a fucking eye scream scoop. Fuck you, you fuckface!" which is impossible, because that kind of sentence makes very little sense to have that much swearing in it.

I typed something along those lines. Deliberately stupid, like "may all your fucked-up fucky fuckholes be fucked with a fucking fucker". I've typed worse over the past 8+ years...funny that it reuslted in a "suspension".

I'm not leaving AOL because of this, though. I switched to Comcast Broadband back in June and AOL kept giving me free months. I think my AOL freebies finally come to an end on, or about Dec 10. This is somewhat relevant to you guys... don't email me at AOL anymore. Use the infinitely cooler "rasslin@estragand.com"...or "BrotherVoodoo@estragand.com"...or "KentTekulve@estragand.com". Literally, ANYTHING with "@estragand.com" comes to me. I use the prefixes as a low-end filter, so I know what you're contacting me about (and from which section of the site).

You might want to look up the 1991 "Cape Fear". The original 50's flick is allright...but Robert DeNiro comes off like Jack Nicholson meets Wolverine in the 1991 version. Weird tatoos, greasy hair and you can't kill the guy.

Strange coincedence, but I unintentionally saw this movie roughly 20 times in 1992. The summer of the big "high school to college" transition. Rented it once in July...and it popped up at EVERY "free movie night" at CSU that Fall. This was back when college kids didn't have DVD's, cable, the Fucking Internet or even VCR's. Hang out in the rec room, sit on folding chairs, eat microwave popcorn and watch it on a projection big screen TV. Or you'd go to a house party and someone would rent a movie. "What'd ya' get?" "Cape Fear". Oh shit. Or I'd come home to visit my folks..and they had rented it. That movie stalked me for almost a year.
