Title: Monday Night Kukar!
Description: Another MNF embarassment for the Donkies

estragand - October 26, 2004 05:35 PM (GMT)
Monday Night Football has made the careers of certain players. Randy Moss and Jim Flannigan immediately come to mind. Last night's Broncos-Bengals game was no different as a NEW NFL superstar rose to national acclaim. It wasn't Bengals wideout Chad Johnson. It wasn't Rudi Johnson (didn't he star in "Dolemite"?), Reuben Droughns or even Justin Smith. It was... Bernie Kukar.

Kukar. The NFL referee with a weird speech impediment. The guy's crew went approximately ONE series without throwing a flag. Once every eight plays, there was Kukar, hogging the spotlight and announcing to the world that 10 yards would indeed be penalized. Thanks to Kukar, neither the Bengals or Broncos could get any real momentum going. But the Broncos should be thankful, without Kukar, the score could have been 62-10 in favor of the Bungles.

Like all those goofy acronym signs that infest MNF crowds, here's one: A.nother B.roncos C.ollapse. Just like in past years, the Broncos have a habit of playing down to their competition. If they had won, like they were supposed to, I would have begun to take them seriously. If not... well, they're just the Same Ol' Broncos Post-Elway. Only without a lead-footed dumbass QB named Greezy to blame. They can demolish decent teams one week..can get embarassed by lame teams the next.

In their defense, Rod Smith, John Lynch and Al Wilson did NOT use the "we've got too much talent to lose games like these" line in post-game interviews.
