Title: Red Sox win AL Pennant
Description: Oh shit...now here comes the SAPPINESS

estragand - October 21, 2004 05:14 AM (GMT)
Well, well....look who got themselves into the World Series. This makes the Red Sox now roughly 1-83 in their feud against the Yankees. But they've been here before... now they have a chance to write the biggest story in modern baseball history. Yes, it IS ironic that the Yankees were done in, in game 7, by their right-field wall.

Unfortunately, this is the first of 8,703 articles you'll read about the Red Sox over the next week. Every sports hack will think this has inspired him to write a "deep, thoughtful article, recounting the resolve of the 2004 Sox and the futility of past teams". "The Red Sox have finally achieved their destiny. The World Series is just icing on the cake". Etc, Etc. Some brainless hack from..oh, let's say DENVER.. (I'm looking at you, Bernie Lincicome, you stupid fuck).. is currently penning this "column" as we speak. In fact..note the date of this post. I'll be linking to Lincicome's shitty column as soon as it debuts. The over/under is 2 days. This is also in effect for YOUR hometown sports hack.

It's even worse than you think. Finally beating the Yankees will encourage dimwits like... BoSox ass-licker Stephen "I haven't written a good book since The Stand" King to bust out a column. He'll try to squeeze in the '76 Series, Bill Buckner and other common facts while fooling some editor into thinking it's "contemporary, thoughtful literature". Jay Leno already has a few punch lines qued up. The Red Sox are coming to YOUR TV, chester...and your inbox, your mailbox, your radio, your newspaper, your local news and your water cooler. Just imagine how bad it'll be if they actually WIN the Series? Suddenly, I'm starting to hate Kevin Brown, Javier Vasquez and Tom Gordon.

Also, is it a bit pessimistic to think that Curt Schilling will be hobbing around with only ONE foot, twenty years from now?

Oh yeah, and if the Astros and Roger Clemens win tomorrow night...look out.
