Black Panther #6
Yeah, whatever. The story didn't do much for me, and the multiple continuity connundrums have driven me crazy. T'Challa had a long history with the Avengers...guess that's wiped out. Radioactive Man is also a Russian named IGOR..now THAT's creative. Despite the fact that Radioactive Man, Dr. Chen Lu is appearing in Thunderbolts, also on sale this month (plus, he's much more interesting in "T-Bolts" than at any point in his history). Then, Black Knight, another hero engrained in Avengers continuity appears as a Vatican Super-Soldier.
Probably the biggest problem is the cover to #6 where Panther's hands are drawn BACKWARDS (look at the thumbs on his hands..they're on the OUTSIDE. You couldn't put your hands in that position unless your thumbs were located next to your pinkie finger.
Furthermore, The Writer is his own biggest fan. It's only issue six and he's already assembled a "soundtrack" for his story. He's also making a point to plug his website in every column (gee...can you imagine? someone plugging their website?! That's a sign of a dweeb...but you should go visit www.estragand.com if you can!!)
If you want to "re-invent" Black Panther, fine. Slap an "ULTIMATE" tag on it. But someone could always come along and explain this away. "Back in 2001, When Mephisto was taking a leak in Everett Ross's apartment, he also unleashed a devastating Mind Altering Fart. The effects of the MAF were subtle and long term. They led to the many inconsistencies in T'Challa's life and led him to believe he was back in Wakanda starring in crappy comics. It also CHANGED EVERYTHING WE KNEW about the Black Panther. The MAF eventually dissipated and T'Challa returned to normal"
MAF. Maybe THAT explains what happened to my ex-wife.
