Longtime DC artist (and one of my favorites), Jim Aparo passed away the other day.
Full Story from NewsaRamaProbably most famous for his rendition of Batman, as alot of fans considered it definitive. I think he got his start with "Aquaman" in the 60's. He did a lot of work on "Brave & the Bold" and "Adventure Comics" in the 70's. His "Adventure" work with the Spectre still receives acclaim.
In the 80's, he was well-known for pencilling "Batman", including the "Death in the Family" crossover event, and a good chunk of "Batman & the Outsiders". His last hurrah with Batman was probably the 1993 "Knightfall" series, where he handled the visual duties on the whole Bane-Arkham Breakout-Ouch my BackHurts story. He returned a few more times to pencil Batman through the late 90's. Great talent and a tough loss.
