Not into Green Day at all...but had a funny conversation about them recently.

Went to visit my folks today and my mom, a 56 year old middle school teacher starts telling me about some "shadow song by a band called Green Day". I play dumb and decide to hear her out. She's a fun lady, so I really didn't have the heart to tell her "yeah, they're basically a punk revival band and their first hit was about masturbation". She says she likes their song about "walking with my shadow", cuz' that's her little sheltie's name. She sings it to her dog quite often. They play it all the time on her radio station, and she even tried to call up to win tickets to a Green Day concert. My mom's been to four concerts in her life: Rod Stewart, Whitney Houston, Cher, and Meat Loaf...but wants to go see Green Day.

Either Ma's really semi-cool or misguided. I'll pretend it's the former.
