| The teenage son of pro wrestler Ric Flair is charged with simple assault after a confrontation at a high school wrestling tournament. The misdemeanor charge stems from a heated match at regional competition in February between Colby Harden and Reid Fliehr. Colby, who won in overtime, jumped up and mocked the theatrical shuffle Ric Flair commonly performs in the ring. Reid Fliehr tackled the victor and crowds swarmed the mat. Colby's father said his son was briefly knocked unconscious, but was able to compete in a later match. The incident prompted thousand-dollar fines against each of their high schools, Harden's South Mecklenburg and Fliehr's Providence. Reid was kicked out of the rest of the tournament. The Harden family filed the criminal charge after the match. |
