Say what you will about the quality of DreamWorks Animation’s recent output, there’s no denying the pull that the studio has in attracting proper good talent to its projects.

Shrek The Third and Bee Movie may have been slightly disappointing but as news reaches us of the vocal cast joining the kid-lit adaptation of Cressida Cowell’s How To Train Your Dragon, we can’t help but get our hopes raised at a return to former glory for the studio.

Gerard Butler, America Ferrera, Jay Baruchel and Superbad alumni Jonah Hill and Christopher Mintz-Plasse will be lending their vocal chords to the story about a teenage Viking named Hiccup, who with the ability to talk ‘Dragonese’ must train a scrawny, toothless dragon to be a brave hero.
Come on, it’s got McLovin and dragons... how can it fail?

We’re hoping for a scaly Rocky (rather than an animated Dragonheart), as the fire-breathing one must learn to toughen up and take on the might of a really big, really nasty dragon. The addition of Butler’s genuine star power and the supporting cast’s well-earned comedy stripes are keeping our hopes high.

No news on who will be playing what but watch this space for the latest developments.
