Lots of reports making the rounds this weekend about an "Ashley Massaro" being linked to an L.A. escort service that the FBI is currently probing based on an article done by Rolling Stone magazine.
Reader Brokendrain sent us a link where TMZ pick up on the story first saying it was a "WWE Diva" who was involved and then later stating it was WWE's Ashley Massaro at this link. Ashley did put up a new blog on her official "MySpace" page saying the story wasn't true and that she was getting in touch with her lawyer.
The belief at this point is that the Ashley Massaro in question is actually a different girl, however Rolling Stone used a picture of WWE's Ashley instead. The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the a bikini model from Las Vegas is carrying the same name and that it could have simply been a big mix-up. Either way, the truth about the entire situation is expected to be revealed very soon. |

According to a report by ProWrestling.net, an old, outdated ad for an "Ashley Massaro" was discovered on the Bella Models website that can be viewed at this link.
The Bella Models website is no longer in operation, but a search of the website's old files turns up the Massaro ad with her listed as living in New York City and "willing to travel" for a booking fee of $25,000. It should be noted that Massaro's hometown is Long Island, New York.
Massaro denied any ties to the story done by Rolling Stone. PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson contacted Rolling Stone contributing editor Michelle Grigoriadis about the story asking if she was confused with another Ashley Massaro. In response, Grigoriadis said she stood by her story and that Massaro is named in an FBI search warrant that was executed on Michelle Braun's property in October 2007. She has no knowledge of another woman by the same name. |
See? I always knew the WWE hired skanks...

Before, we all thought she was a whore. And now it's confirmed! Joy to all.

I do however like Ashley better now.

I don't know how much I believe this, I remember early on in Christy Hemme's WWE tenure shortly after she won that diva search crap there were talk's of her on an online dating website under a different name and ended up using a head shot of Christy without her permission.

If anyone has been watching WWE's version of ECW, just when I thought they were going to lay off the ho story lines, Kelly had her Expose Dance thing again last night. Layla ended up in the ring and they had a push and shove and dance contest...Layla does a better job of dancing than does Kelly but the rumor is that Kelly will be next in line for Playboy.
I point out there are clubs available if you want to see dancers. I do not. I want to see wrestling. (Of course there isn't much of that going on in WWE these days either.)
I don't know what these women expect people to think of them when this is what they do on the screen every week.

Was Kelly's dancing thing in the ring to some horrible pop music again? I thought it was actually somewhat edgy and fit into the show when she was trying to get "naked" on a small stage by the entrance.

It was the song that WWE touted a few months ago. Some of the divas were in the video...but I can't remember the name of the song or the guy who did the song...sorry

I thought it was a whole lot trashy and belonged at the strip club down the street. B)

Which fits in quite well with what ECW used to be

Bingo.

I doubt I buy into this. It's not like either of her names are super rare or anything. And let's face it. The media is pretty notorious for not doing basic fact checking and getting all the details wrong. So the reporter sticking by her story means nothing really.

This might sound like I'm singling you out, but stick with me, here... I agree with what you're saying.
There are also shitty comedy clubs down the street (where someone might actually make you laugh, no less), as opposed to the dumb skits WWE and TNA put on, week after week.
There are also countless programs on TV that do not insult your intelligence with stuff like the Magic BackStage Camera or the GM's Office that Magically Appears in Every Arena. Current pro "wrestling" has more in common with an episode of "Saved by the Bell" than it does with the cards of the past.
Today's WWE is primarily marketed towards adolsecents (in the past, they were sponsored by STRI-DEX for shit's sake) and the 18-25 male demographic. Or...the crowd that frequents Cage's board. (ooo..burn!!)
Ridiculous "diva" stuff like Kelly trying to be a stripper or "exposing herself" (which makes her the world's most ineffective stripper, having failed roughly every week since June 2006) is definitely targetted toward that group/mentality. They put some gal up on the apron showing off her goods and the crowd will always pop. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is.
Sure, the "diva" crap is garbage, but it's not the only type of garbage they're producing.
It's half-assed lowbrow filth they're putting out. We can sit here all we want and sprout cliches like: "I want to see WRESTLING on a wrestling program" and it won't make a lick of difference. They'll still broadcast crap. Crap that seems like a 14 year old's version of what adults might do. Guys fighting over women like Popeye and Bluto, then destroying each others' cars, crapping in their luggage and bragging about how "cool" they think they are. That's what "wrestling" is today--- who has the best catchphrase or personality. How else do you explain the continued presence of guys like John Cena or the Rock over the past 10 years? Bob Backlund and Greg Valentine going 60 minutes ain't gonna' happen.

Nicely said E. Sorta describes my total lack of interest as well.
