Title: JimBob Skeeter : newest Superstar
Erick Von Erich - January 8, 2008 07:12 PM (GMT)
Hey, you may have noticed that JimBob Skeeter recently registered. He's a decent guy and brought quality posts to my old board. I just hope that our recent "Slump of Crap" around here hasn't turned him away.
So JBS, if you're reading this, feel free to introduce yourself or "cut a promo".

HEY! Sorry, it's taken me a bit to post. It's been pretty busy here at work. Thanks for the invite. It's nice to have a nother board to peruse, especially if this one has a fairly decent COMIX discussion. (I'm not as big a FANBOY as I use to be, so settle down with the nerd name throwing.)
I still watch Raw pretty regularly, very rarely see Smackdown cuz it's on Friday, and I'm either with the gf and her kids or playing poker with my buds Friday nights, so no wrasslin' then.
I like country music. Deal with it.
I'll be 40 in five months. I'm used to old jokes. Wait'll I get into stories about my hip. Oy!
The gf and I are moving in together in July. Things are changing in my life for the (much) better. Divorced nine years ago. Time to try and give that another swing (probably in a year).
I design kitchens/restaurants for a living. Have been for 11-1/2 years. I do the computer layouts for them. LOVE MY JOB!
Speaking of which, time to get back to work.
Nice to meet y'all. Thanks again, es!

Egads...I'll have to relinquish my Mantle of Oldness! Just wait a few years and we can swap jokes about "Mr. Jelly Finger" and his annual prostate exam. "Just relax..."

"Using the whole fist there, Doc?"
Hey, 33 is getting pretty young around here! Awesome!
Jimbob, you from the South?
Big F'N Swigg - January 13, 2008 01:46 AM (GMT)
I'll forgive the love of Country,
For now...
JimBob Skeeter - January 14, 2008 06:14 PM (GMT)
There is absolutely nothing wrong with country music. I don't mind taking abuse from country haterz. Bring it! Actually, I've ran lights and sound for local bands for the past 18 years, most of them being country bands.
Done a few rock, bands, tho, too. I didn't have a mullet for nothing!
As for where I'm from: central MN. An hour north of the Twin Cities. Grew up on a dairy farm on the western border of central MN (on the bump where MN meets ND & SD.)
Hometown population: 136.
Graduating class: 50
Cows tipped: none.
Any more questions?
Big F'N Swigg - January 14, 2008 06:18 PM (GMT)
If you've worked for some bands, then that's extra forgiveness. My country hate just lies with the modern, "Post-Garth" country. Stuff like Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, etc. I'm a huge fan of classic country, though. Give me Johnny Cash or Hank Williams ANY day.
JimBob Skeeter - January 14, 2008 06:50 PM (GMT)
HELLS YEAH! I also like the 80's erz bands, tho, too, like Restless Heart, Exile, Desert Rose Band, Dan Seals, etc......... That was some good shit right there.
Big F'N Swigg - January 14, 2008 08:58 PM (GMT)
I accept 80's era stuff, just because it reminds me of riding around with one of my uncles. Just like I accept hair bands for the same reason, different uncle

If I remember correctly: aren't you a fan of old AWA stuff, JimBob?
Country music is very close to traditional rock n' roll. Same theme, same song structure, etc. Verse & chorus, verse &chorus, solo/bridge, verse & chorus. Any KISS or AC/DC song could make for a good country song, and vice versa.
I agree with Swiggy, though..the modern county stuff is of the toilet. Something about Toby Keith just makes me wish he'd die in a plane crash. But then he'd be immortalized with shitty airbrushed art on t-shirts and the backs of Ford F-450's.

If old JimBob likes old school AWA then I'll be glad to forget all about the love for country music and the like.

I actually have the History Of The AWA signed by Jumpin' Jim hizzelf. PROOF:

Hmm....I dunno... there is THIS:

Another old AWA guy. But he's slapping his
finisher on me. Now, if Jim Bob can produce a shot with Jim Brunzell drop-kicking him or delivering a skull-cracker...
But JimBob has the distinction of not looking like a douche in his shot. Something which I failed to do. But I'm tapping out! It freakin' hurt!!
And I should really modify that pic so that the stupid Star Wars banner is blurred, eh?

Yep. Can't argue with that.
Hmmm....now this has me thinking if I've ever taken a picture with an AWA wrestler.
Yep....I have one with Dusty. If only I could actually get it scanned and posted here....

I will try to do the same with my Harley Race picture...
