Title: Darryl The Hitman; bring it!

Erick Von Erich - December 6, 2007 06:59 AM (GMT)
Hey..another new legitimate member! Please welcome to the show, Darryl the Hitman.

Who knows, we may see Darryl the Anvil or Darryl the Rocket join us, someday!

I remember Darryl from wayyyyy back in my semi-mark days (circa 2001), over on the old OUR so-called SPORT message board. Nice to see that some of the old peeps are still around.

We're only missing Stuntman Mike now. Whatever happened to him anyway?

Nothing, he's a stuntman.

Holy cow!!!!

One of my old OSCS friends! :) Where's socetew when I need him?

I should explain how I came across this place and why I decided to join.

I thought your name sounded familiar, EvE but I couldn't remember why. :)

First, I've been a wrestling fan since 1987.

I've been part of the IWC since 1996.

I've been a fan of Scott Keith since 2001.

Whatever your opinion of Mr. Keith, it's the last that led me to you.

Recently, Scott made a post on his blog about Owen Hart "winning" the WWF Title from Bret Hart in late 1994 and included YouTube footage of it. One of the posters on the thread mentioned that there was more that happened after the YT video cut off and another poster mentioned where to find the recap of the match.

The thread is here: http://www.rspwfaq.com/?p=700 and of course, the poster gave a link to your site's review of Wham! Bam! Bodyslam!

I read the review of the tape and I was struck by the icon for the forum at the bottom--it's the Luchador mask I own, which belongs to The Blue Demon.

I clicked on the link and was taken to this board.

I honestly still might not have joined except...

...you use InvisionFree--the same as the board I have owned for over a year now. I won't give the link (unless you ask?) as I don't want to be gauche but I do have a lot more features there than you seem to here. If you came to check it out and liked what you saw, I'd be happy to show you how to add the features here if you wanted.

For example, I have 100 different banners that load at random, 55-60 different skins to view the board with, over 300 smileys, rainbow-colored links, a sort-of spellcheck, spoiler tags, doHTML code and probably more that I'm forgetting.

In any event, thank you for your welcome, those who have not met me and thanks for welcoming me back, those who I'd forgotten I met! :)

It occurred to me last night that even mentioning what my board has may seem gauche too. I did it because unlike here, my board isn't open to guests so I didn't want anyone to think I was only trying to gain members by making you register to find out what I had.

In any event, if the Admins here are interested, I'd love to help you add any or all of those features here. :)

Naw, not gauche.... I mean, SOME clowns post a link to their own Crappy Website in their signature!

We don't own the full version of InvisionBoard....so we may not have some of the full-court features you're mentioning. But drop me a line (via PM) with some details. I'd definitely use the random banner thingie. In addition to Doink, we've got X-Factor, Koko B. Ware, the Berzerker, SID, Tony Atlas and other luminaries of the sports entertainment world. RFS is the actual owner of the board. I'm just another admin ...who likes to fart around while at work and mess with the board alot.

We've never gotten around to skinning the place with custom images through CSS. I've kinda' grown to like the default "out-of-the-box" light blue look n' feel. Even incorporated it into our site design. When it comes to forums, I'm a big fan of the "it don't gotta' look nice, it just gotta' have good content" ideology.

And yup, OSCS was the most powerful force in the universe, brother! Every now and then I'll bump into socetew out here on the Internets. I just recently dumped my longtime "eStagand" moniker, since I'll be doing some serious business with that name in 2008. But yeah...that's me.

ESTRAGAND!!!!

One of your pictures became the basis of a very popular thread on my board! The GREATEST In-Flight Safety Card Ever!

I remember you! I suggested the drea match between Ghost Rider and The American Bad Ass, didn't I?

Darryl The Hitman - December 8, 2007 02:46 AM (GMT)
I saw socetew on CRZ's board but I left that one and I dunno where he is now. You know JOhn morphed OSCS into http://www.backofthehead.com right?

I don't actually make skins--I've just become good at customizing existing ones for my board--same with code snippets.

Erick Von Erich - December 8, 2007 08:03 AM (GMT)
Ayup. The ol' Ghost Rider vs. Undertaker "dream match".

Yeah, I knew that John (and the other guys for a little while) became BackoftheHead. I'm not a big fan of John's writing, though, so I don't frequent his place. It's sort of half-ass nerd and half-ass humor.
