STAMFORD, Conn., November 2, 2007 – In accordance with its Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy, WWE today suspended the following performers for violations: Chris Mordetzky (Chris Masters) for 60 days (second violation) and Harry Smith (D. H. Smith) for 30 days (first violation).

Additional information on World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE) can be found at wwe.com and corporate.wwe.com. For information on our global activities, go to http://www.wwe.com/worldwide/

Let's pin this fucker.

Didn't Harry just debut?

That was fast.

Glad to see that Harry Smith learned a lesson from the way his father died.

In accordance with its Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy, WWE has suspended Jeff Hardy for 60 days, for his second violation of the company’s policy.

*shakes head*

KSSassy - March 11, 2008 02:46 PM (GMT)
That explains why he lost the title to Jericho last night.
This is Jeff's second violation -- isn't he out if there's a third.
Perhaps I should say that laughingly since Randy Orton was never punished for his violation(s).

KSSassy - March 11, 2008 02:50 PM (GMT)
I should have added -- and meant to -- but I'm still amazed that Jeff Hardy is doing this to his career...
From all of the information I could find about D.H. Smith, he failed the drug test while still in developmental. WWE brought him to the big leagues and then proclaimed he failed to comply with the wellness policy and THEN suspended him in order to "set an example" and "prove they were doing what they said they were going to do".

SamoaRowe - March 11, 2008 04:53 PM (GMT)
Ah, fuckery. To loosely quote Rico, "Dammit, Jeff!"

Yeah, I remember that story about DH Smith too. That was awful shitty of them, if it's true. I can't believe the load of nothing Smith has done thus far, he's beeing Gunner Scott-erized.

dynamite kido - March 11, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
WOW, Jeff is a fucking tard. I was pissed with the treatment he's been getting....now, fuck him.

Yeah, if anyone is interested, I updated my blog with a look back at Hardy's return to WWE since 2006 and my anger with the recent events.

- With the suspension of Jeff Hardy, he has been removed from the Money in the Bank Match at WrestleMania. MVP, who won a qualifying match at a house show, has been added into the match. Three spots remain open for the match.

- When word of the suspension hit the locker room, there was a feeling of shock and disbelief. Jeff is well liked backstage, but many people have the feeling of, "Can you believe what an idiot he is" with this suspension. It is now clear to talent that things have changed and that you cannot get away with stuff you may have been able to a few years ago. In the end Jeff Hardy found out the hard way that this is a new WWE in regards to the drug testing issues.

Yeah, if they suspended Hardy right now given the fact that he's over quite nicely and amid quite the push and going into WM, they really mean business.

Bullshit. Let me see them suspend one of their uber pet projects like Randy Orton or Batista over this in the same way then I'll say something. Hardy was over but the company still sees him as being as expendable as any lower mid-card guy.

SamoaRowe - March 28, 2008 08:44 PM (GMT)
Orton has been suspended in the past.

KSSassy - March 28, 2008 09:45 PM (GMT)
But if he was, it was kept hush-hush.

He got sent HOME from overseas, but he wasn't suspended.

I'm not sure he ever was suspended. I think WWE did some backtracking in a CYA maneuver.

Mad Dog - March 28, 2008 11:16 PM (GMT)
He was suspended in the late summer last year. It was pretty much working without pay and he got rewarded with a world title program right out of the gate.

Oh, that's the way to punish someone!

I read this morning that the McCallister that showed up at iMPACT the other night (the live iMPACT) and was shown by the cameras actually sitting in the audience got sent home from Orlando by WWE.

He wasn't the only one there, he was just the only one that got shown in the audience.

SamoaRowe - March 29, 2008 02:08 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I read that a lot of people aren't happy about that either. McAllister was there as a fan to see his buddy, Johnny Devine, in the ring. TNA noticed him and pounced on the chance to stick it to the WWE. A lot of TNA workers are unhappy about this, because they feel that TNA just put McAllister's job and income on the line with that stunt.

I read this at 411, not sure where they copied and pasted it from.

I read that about the TNA wrestlers being upset, too. The fact is, he wasn't the only WWE wrestler there but I think the rest of them stayed backstage and out of camera range.

Does a pro baseball player or football player get "sent home" if they are in attendance watching an opponent's game.

I think it's ridiculous. A lot of the wrestlers know each other either from working together in WWE or some other organization. McMahon has got to be an idiot for treating them like they should not know each other.

SamoaRowe - March 29, 2008 03:12 PM (GMT)
I think it's funny that McMahon always no sells TNA on air, but it seems that off-air he actually has a big problem with them.

Mad Dog - March 29, 2008 03:32 PM (GMT)
I believe he does though. Because really think about TNA at this point. They're gearing up to head into year 6 as a promotion. ECW was already dead in the water at this point in their run and TNA is actually steadily picking up some ground here and there. It has to irk him to see this little company that keeps surviving and gaining some fans here and there.

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5) -- Henry County Police are investigating what a Locust Grove man says he found inside his home.

He turned over to police several bottles that were labeled as containing human growth hormones.

The man also gave police numerous syringes and other materials that investigators say could belong to a W.W.E. wrestler.

"I had never looked in here and so she was gonna put her stuff in here and just looked back in here and the boxes were just sitting there," said the homeowner.

The Locust Grove man showed FOX 5 News where his daughter stumbled upon the disturbing find in the attic of their home.

"It was actually pushed over closer to this wall," said the homeowner as he pointed to a nearby wall.

The homeowner was referring to two shoe boxes that contained several small bottles labeled as testosterone, neomasteron -- which is also an anabolic steroid -- some bottles with no markings at all and there were numerous unopened syringes.

Asked what his thoughts were upon discovering the drugs, the homeowner said "well being the fact that I have children I was horrified because my kids actually play up in that room and so the first thing I thought is what if there were to open that and they would have gotten a hold of the stuff and the syringes."

The shoeboxes also contained personal documents with the name of a man who used to live in the house.

Among those documents was a contract from the W.W.E. and a memorandum to W.W.E. superstars in 2004 about the new dress code.

Henry County Police have asked FOX 5 News not to name that wrestler at this time because they want to talk with him first.

Futhermore, no charges have been filed.

Police are still investigating what the substance was in those bottles.

While it is not illegal for W.W.E. wrestlers to take steroids the W.W.E. Director of Publicity Kevin Hennesy told FOX 5 News "wrestlers can only be prescribed steroids by a physician which is rare and only for a specific medical condition and it is usually taken orally."

Hennesy added, "If a wrestler is injecting steroids for performance enhancement purposes that would be a matter for local law enforcement."

Investigators say they believe the wrestler is staying with relatives in another state.

Police want to question him and test the bottles of substances that were found in the Locust Grove home.

Okay, so this looks like stuff left over from 2004 (before the Wellness Policy was put in place, though I'm not defending the user) and it's very possible that whoever this belonged to is no longer with the company.

Still, I'm curious about who it could be. I'll put money on Heidenreich!

I'd hope it wasn't Benoit's house. As much as I like Benoit as a wrestler, you couldn't pay me to live in that house. They should tear it down.

Palumbo lives in California and Chavo lives in Texas. I'm not sure where the other guys live.

Big F'N Swigg - April 7, 2008 04:39 PM (GMT)
I'd figure it to be a former WCW guy seeing that the house is in Atlanta.

Also, it's not Benoit's house. Different part of Atlanta.

Jason Powell is reporting that Smackdown head writer Michael Hayes has been suspended by WWE for 60-days for using a derogatory term while speaking with Mark Henry. According to the source, Henry took offense and reported it to WWE officials.

www.prowrestling.net/artman/publish/WWE/article1001127.shtml:

WWE Smackdown writer Michael Hayes is currently serving a 60-day suspension for using a racial slur during WrestleMania 24 weekend. Hayes was at a public gathering and used a derogatory term while speaking with Mark Henry, who took offense and reported the issue to either Vince McMahon or Stephanie McMahon.

Hayes and MVP had been using the word while joking around together earlier in the night. It was a party setting and Hayes had been drinking when he approached Henry. A pair of sources confirmed that Hayes told Henry, "I'm more of a n----- that you are." One of the sources claims that it was a play on something MVP jokingly said about Hayes earlier in the night because of the white suit that he wore to the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. Hayes then headbutted Henry in what one source described as a playful manner. Henry and Hayes exchanged words, and the former reported the issue to WWE officials.

Hayes, who normally goes on vacation the week after WrestleMania, was eventually informed of his suspension. Sources are unaware whether the suspension kicked in before or after his vacation was scheduled to begin. Either way, he has not appeared at any WWE functions since WrestleMania weekend.

Although a well-placed source told Dot Net that he believes Hayes was joking, multiple sources say he has a history of using the word and has been warned by Stephanie McMahon in the past. "On the surface they did the right thing, but this has been going on a long time," one colleague told Dot Net. However, the same source said that while Hayes has flippantly used the slur during creative sessions, he has never known him to use his power to bury a minority wrestler.

Powell's POV: One source explained to me that Hayes feels comfortable using the word around African Americans because he doesn't mean any harm. Of course, even if the word is accepted in some of his social circles, Hayes has to realize that he's working in the corporate world for a publicly traded company, not to mention how offensive that word is to many people. He's also in a position of power and I've heard from multiple sources that there are some wrestlers who laugh off these outbursts in front of Hayes, yet privately complain to others about his use of the word.

There are some people within the company who feel like Henry overreacted by reporting the incident and did so mostly because he was concerned about how it came off in front of others who witnessed the exchange. Again, though, I've heard from more people who felt like WWE officials should have addressed the problem with Hayes yeas ago. Furthermore, some sources are concerned that Henry will eventually pay a price politically, particularly if he remains on the Smackdown brand with Hayes. "Michael holds grudges," one source noted. "I'm talking for decades. You're his enemy for life."

No kidding. What on earth could Hayes have been thinking? When I first saw that he had been suspended, I thought it might have been over a wellness policy violation and I was mad at Hayes for being so dumb. Now I'm even angrier knowing the real reason.

Maybe just telling him to knock it off isn't doing the trick. If Henry had decked him, that might have made it sink in.

Totally unprofessional from a vet such as Hayes, but then again this is wrestling. You can throw profesionalism out the window.

Hayes is lucky he didn't get his ass kicked, but at the same time, Henry would of been jobbed out horredously...oh wait.

Sounds like lose-lose to me.

Yeah, this is wrestling. But it's also 2008. There are aspects of the business that really should grow up, so it's good that this incident hasn't gone unpunished.

SamoaRowe - April 28, 2008 04:34 AM (GMT)
QUOTE
- As reported last week, Michael Hayes was suspended from the company due to a situation with Mark Henry. Hayes comes from the southern school of pro wrestling, which is a very different world than the politically correct world of 2008. Some people accept Hayes and his lingo as is, because it is just his way of speaking, but others wonder how the man can work for a publicly traded company and the language be acceptable. Hayes was a worker that got over by his promo work; his ability to jive talk and the joke is that he considers himself "black" due to his ability to relate with African Americans. The problem is when African Americans don't consider him in that way. Many feel that Lashley got such an easy release; with the ability to go to TNA if he wishes in May is due to issues with Hayes and racism.

- The situation was that Hayes was talking with MVP, joking around because they are close behind the scenes. MVP was discussing how cool Hayes was in his day and jokingly said, "You're more of a n*gger than I am." Later in the day Hayes was talking with Mark Henry and was trying to get him to open up his character and be more out going. Like African American's used to be portrayed, and stated to Henry, "I am more of a n*gger than you are." There were witnesses to the conversation. Later in the evening, Hayes gave Henry a playful head butt (this was a Freebirds trademark to show that they liked you, dating back nearly 30-years) and Henry told him never to do that again.

- It was after all of that when Henry went to Vince McMahon about the situation. Some with in the company feel that Mark Henry made too big a deal about it, and many friends and supporters of Hayes have heat with Henry. Many people thought Hayes was untouchable, but Vince McMahon suspended Hayes himself.

- Until Hayes returns, Ed Korskey and Christopher DeJosephs (who plays Big Dick Johnson on WWE TV) will take over as the writers for Smackdown and ECW. DeJosephs had been writing for ECW since Dave Lagana was fired and Dusty Rhodes left for Florida Championship Wrestling.
