Title: WWE 24/7: Scary crap with Snitsky (October 2007)
eStragand - October 1, 2007 06:51 AM (GMT)
Back to the Halloween theme as it's "Psychos, Sickos and Monsters". Shorties segments are hosted by Snitksy. They should bring back TNT and have it hosted by Snitsky.
I'm checking out the 3/17/97 Monday Night Wars and specifically Nitro. They chopped out a whole segment that featured a Chris Benoit vs Billy Kidman match. Same segment also included a somewhat important recap from WCW Uncensored, where Flair and Piper had a disagreement.
Otherwise, this Nitro is somewhat significant because the nWo members are finally starting to wrestle on the show. They'd been doing run-ins and interviews forever, but only guys like Big Bubba or Michael Wallstreet had been wrestling on free TV (although Hall and Nash had a total squash against "the Extreme" in January '97).

I watched the Wild Samoans win the tag titles from the Strongbows. How I hated Jay Strongbow.

They just added the 2007 Great American Bash...and it expires on 10/6. That's quick.

WCCW is really good this time around. Really it and World Championship Wrestling are what I look forward to and tape now. Nitro is dead to me now that Benoit is edited out a lot. I do tape Primetime but it's typically sucky.
dynamite kido - October 14, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
Primetime has shitty matches but it's always an entertaining show.
WCCW was really good this past update. Terry Gordy is the fucking shit in WCCW too. Hell, the Freebirds are way better than I even remember them being actually now that I think about it.
Also, I'm thinking my update is fucked up because I have shit disappearing and other stuff appearing. Who knows...
Mad Dog - October 14, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
Primetime needs to fucking stop with the Young Stallions vs. the Shadows bullshit. I don't think the Shadows have won once and this past show had two singles matches between the teams. And not a single one of these matches have even touched being good yet.

Damn... then I'm glad Primetime was skipped on my update this week. But I was kinda' curious to see the short-lived Mr. T Special Referee nonsense.
Oh yeah, a WCCW recap is coming soon.

I haven't gotten a PTW or TNT update for awhile now. Is everybody else the same way?
Watched the 1/14/96 ECW last night. Dreadlock Vest Guy has returned to the front row! He was the guy who would always point to the ring and seemed to really love Eddie and Malenko. Faith No More Guy has also moved closer to the center; he's now about two seats to the right of Straw Hat Guy (or to the left as you view them on TV).
There's also another guy in the crowd who never seemed to catch on: "Jerome Bettis Jersey Guy". He's about 12 rows up, almost towards the top of the camera's cut-off. He always wears a #36 LA/St Louis Rams jersey and a hat. I think there's another guy with the same shirt who sits about halfway down the entrance aisle. Both were regulars in the crowd since mid-95.
Show opens with a totally overbooked segment. Styles and Alfonzo face-off, then Taz comes in. 911 comes in and fights Taz. Both leave. The jobbers enter and Taz returns to destroy El Puerto Ricano. Styles tries to save him. 911 comes in again and goes after Taz. They separate. The Eliminators come in and beat up 911. Taz comes in AGAIN and attacks him. Rey Misterio enters....and suddenly a 911/Mistero vs. Eliminators match is on. Then the Pitbulls run in to fight the Eliminators. Francine and Jason tussle. Fuck! Just a free-flow, never-ending segement
During the Buh Buh Ray vs. Jimmy Del Ray match, someone starts singing:
"Camptown ladies sing this song; do-da, do-da.
This match is TOO FUCKING LONG; oh the do-da day!"
That made me chuckle.
Mad Dog - October 24, 2007 02:28 AM (GMT)
FUCK!!! The Philly arena show in the update has a fucking Stallions/Shadows match on it.
eStragand - October 24, 2007 04:07 PM (GMT)
Ha! Some feuds just won't die... like Danny Davis vs. Sam Houston, or Tito Santana vs. Rick Martel....
In all 3 cases, there was only one winner: the fans!
Shadows were Moondog Rex and Jose-Luis Rivera, right? It's pretty obvious that one is Rex, but I sometimes see conflicting reports on who the other was.
Mad Dog - October 25, 2007 01:52 AM (GMT)
Yep, they were the Shadows.

Watched TNT from 2/14/86. Surprised that it wasn't a Valentine's theme.
They re-run the "Fuji & Muraco go to Hollywood" skit, as if it's something new. When they had just aired it in October 1985. Also, Tito Santana is a guest. In some weird foreshadowing, Vince refers to him as a "matador" and they talk about bullfighting for most of the interview.
The last few weeks of TNT have been garbage. Vince asks one pre-planned question, they try to goof on Alfred Hayes, then a conclusion. Just really bad stuff. The heel interviews are usually more entertaining (like Muraco or Piper), but the faces all have that save formula.

Watched Halloween Havoc '89 tonight. The last four matches (Steiners vDoom, Luger v Pillman, Skyscrapers v Road Warriors and Muta/Funk v Flair/Sting) all had that "big supercard feel" to 'em.
The undercard is famous for the crowd absolutely KILLING the Dynamic Dudes, Tommy Rich and Tom Zenk. Funny stuff.
24/7 added ALOT of fast forward edits in this show. All the matches are complete though, and it looks like they just skipped over the entrances (due to the music, no doubt). Overall, a good show once you get past the undercard crap. It expires Thursday night at midnight, so check it out if you can.

I didn't get the last episode of PTW from July '87 either. I'm so sorry I missed it. There goes my trade with WV. He loves the Shadows.
